      @@ellieherrmann4819 it’s the most amazing thing ever when you get your uniform. I shed a tear 😂 I think different university may vary but at my uni we got 3 pairs of green ambulance pants and 3 polo shirts with student paramedic on the back. We also got a blue shell jacket with student on the back, a high vis jacket and a helmet and boots. I bought an extra green fleece for under my jacket on night shifts because I feel the cold so much. I also bought a belt with a loop on for hand sanitiser and bits like that. I’ll film a video soon about extras that are beneficial to buy and link what I got😊🚑 hope this helps xxx

    This was so helpful. Thank you. I’m going for an open day in October what sort of questions should I ask ? I’m also so worried I won’t get onto the course as I’m 20 and I’m not going straight from college. I’m not sure if I’ve got the grades to get on the course. Could someone give some answers to my questions if they could please.

      @@SoTanya22 occupational health that was it couldn’t think of it. I have been fine now for about 7 years now with a small blip in 2017 (anxiety)with mental health but I do have a bit of a history with it I’m still not convinced it’s even worth me trying just because of my medical history physically I am fine

    • @SoTanya22
      @SoTanya22  3 роки тому

      @@johnschweiger1079 it’s always worth trying. I know a few people on my course who have suffered with quite bad mental health very recently and have passed occupational health. I believe it’s all about how you are now and how you will cope and if you are fit and well. They are also really good and reasonable with all students. Also you can use your experience to help patients who are suffering with mental health. It may be worth ringing up the university’s and occupational health and seeing what they say. I’m sure you will be amazing 🚑

    Hey! Thank you so much for all the info and tips on this video!! I’ve got a place at uni for September and will also be working the odd shift at Specsavers (I’m full time at the moment). Just wondered how you find the uni work/Specsavers/life balance! I have no idea what is manageable when picking up shifts etc and wanting to give my director a heads up! Is one day a week normal? Is two days too much etc?
    Thanks again!! 💚

Good luck with everything 💚 so cool that we’re both Specsavers and student paras xx

    Hi great video! was just wondering if you know any paramedic students who did the national extended diploma in health and social care (btec)(equivalent of 3 a levels) and where accepted on to the course? I'm looking to start the health and social care course in september at my local college, but Im just worried that someone who has a levels, one of them being a science will be more likely to be accepted on to the course then me,

    • @SoTanya22
      @SoTanya22  3 роки тому

      I don’t know anyone that did that I’m afraid, however I didn’t have very good a levels and I didn’t do a science, I got my a lot of ucas points from dancing exams! I think it’s more about communication skills and experience 😊 it’s good if you can get some kind of volunteering in a healthcare environment to put into your personal statement xx

      I did applied science level 3 extended diploma. And I'll be starting paramedic science this September. Majority of universities accept it and I haven't come across any don't accept level 3 btec for paramedics

      @@habeebaha8858 was applied science challenging? I've gotten a 5-5 for GCSE science, how do think I will do?

    • @habeebaha8858
      @habeebaha8858 3 роки тому

      @@amanathussain1024 Honestly it was the best decision I've ever made rather than going for A-Levels. Regardless of what Gcse grades you've got there are going to be parts of the course you're going to do well and parts you're going to find challenging. For me personally I struggled with exams - I had to put in extra effort for that, assignments I loved and easily got. Some people in my class stressed the whole way through the assignments and that ended up taking a toll on them and their grades. My advice for exams or assignments, revise and start assignments from the beginning, doing bit by bit everyday rather than in chunks. Staying organised is key since there will be new and more in depth content that you haven't covered at GCSE level. I hope that helped and all the best in your studies :)
