- "I had made peace with never hearing this guitar again" - Owner
Total overhaul of a family guitar that had been totally destroyed , by neglect, damage and poor repairs. This required a tremendous amount of work to bring it back to life. One of the things I talked about right away, was that I would take on the repair as long as he let me treat it like the violin repair world, where instead of trying to make the instrument look brand new and every repair invisible, I would repair and rebuild it, but not hide the repairs or scars. Repairs are part of the life of any old instrument and when they are done well, there's no reason to hide them and pretend they're not there. To make this instrument look new would have required a new top, sides and neck, which would have not been the same guitar anymore.
If you have a family instrument you never thought could be made playable again, and you'd like to have it repaired. reach out.
As long as most of the guitar is there, I can make it play again.

I love watching these videos. I'm amazed every time I see a true luthier (?) doing what they do best! All I can say is WOW! You are a wood genius and then some! And it sounds absolutely beautiful, just beautiful. Hat's off to you my friend... from Ontario Canada.
Thank you, Dana. It can be a very rewarding vocation working on projects like this.

Thank you for the kind words. This can be very gratifying and motivating on on special instruments like these.
That is absolutly stunning the time and effort you have put into that guitar. It looks really amazing and sounds real nice very very cool. It could tell a story or two❤
Geez, good job Sir!
Great job!
I just got one for myself. A ‘64. “12-fretter”
Such a passion project here... very clever reconstruction of that slotted head stock! What kind of strings did you use...
I don’t recall specifically, but they were probably 10’s. I put them on and they sounded and felt good. So I put the package in the case for the owner so he can get some the next time. I finished the guitar in the fall, but recent finished editing the video.
Wow beautiful save :)
call that guitar Lazarus
Super cool!
Good job,
@craigmusgrave3985 here's one with an integrated slide show. It is easier to snap pictures along the way than shoot and compile video for me.
That family should have to forfeit the guitar. They'll probably just bust it up again.
Man I can't stand when people hold guitars by the end pin. 🤮 Probably because someone I can't stand does it. Aka the dude at Trogly's Guitars.
