This has to be one of the finest no-nonsense informative videos on a device that I've ever seen from a fellow motorcyclist. Thank you for putting it together and posting!

Great video, how does it work with riding gloves on???

How does it work with gloves on? I have one now that will not work with gloves, and I had a previous one that worked pretty well with gloves. My gloves have glovetacks on them that are supposed to work with capacitive screens

Lots of reviews on Amazon from free products given out. Not sure I trust this. How does the screen holdup to being in the sun and weather? Is it bright enough for sunny days?

If you drill it secured to a bar, how would you take it with you when checking into a hotel?
    Leave it on bar???
    Better with original holder?

Hello from Italy!, congratulations! I would like to know how you anchored the Carpuride to the bar? did you do laundry? Do you have videos or photos of how you did it? HI

Hi! Hi! After using the 502 for some time, are you still happy with the device and with its size? Would the 702 be too big for the Ténéré? Thank you

Can you still control calls and music from the cardo unit or from carpuride or both?

  • @borninkaraj

Thanks for the informative video. Does this unit have a stand alone navigation? Or it uses phone navigation?

great video. Question; does this Carpuride have the 'Ghost Touch' problem that all smart phones have? rain drops cause problem when you try to operate it, and device have mind of its own and do weird things?

It has capacitive touch, so no, I don't think so

Did you try phone calls and playing music? With other brands there seems to be a lot of problems. Once you connect to this (other brand) it bricks the Cardo. Have you had any problems like that? Thanks

I have been having problems hearing phone calls. No problem making a call, just hearing. I think it has to do with my Cardo volume settings more than the Carpuride. I don’t like talking while riding, so I haven’t worried with it. Other than that, everything works great. I’m still loving it.

I am considering this solution. I agree this is cheaper than a dedicated GPS (Garmin Zumo XT). But my concern with using phone GPS, aren't you restricted to having cell service? I have used my iPhone as a direct GPS unit and it work great until I am in the middle of nowhere and have no service, where as my Zumo XT works.

I ran in to the same problem. But it is no problem if you download the offline map to your map-app for your area.

you don't need cell service to run Rever or Gia your phone will pick up gps signals on its own. you will only need cell service for Goggle maps

How is the size? Not too big for the bike? I have a 2006 Transalp and was debating between the 5' or 7'.

So I have tried three of these on various bikes. Here are the problems:
    1. Screen is fairly low resolution. It works but it doesn’t look great.
    2. Two out of the three screens would randomly reboot upon application of power at certain RPM’s. They kept doing this over and over being completely unreliable.
    3. They’re supposed to be waterproof. They’re not. After washing my bike, they all failed.
It’s cheap Chinese junk people. Don’t waste your time and pay for the Garmin. I have a Zumo XT 2 now and it is SOLID.

Carplay is far superior to any brand of GPS, right up until you lose cell service. Then you’ll wish you still had your GPS.

Has anyone connected to this using an Android phone? All the reviews I have seen use an iphone. I have an Android phone and it will not connect via WiFi to this device which means Android Auto will not work.

I have this (mine is the 7 inch version) and an Samsung Fold 4. The Android Auto works mostly the same. After setup the phone, my Sena SRL2, and this works flawlessly. I don't change bikes so I don't have that issue. I did find a replacement mounting system to make the setup a little less steal-ly when parked in public.

@@chad_holbrook I have since bought a newer Android phone and everything works , the issue was that the Carpuride connects to your phone using 5 GHz WiFi ( says it also uses 2.4 but this was my problem) my older phone didn't have this and so that's why it wouldn't connect.
