      Yes, it was pretty scary, not sure how that happened but I intentionally did not cut that part out. No damage whatsoever, it landed flat :)

    I think you’re the only youtuber who reply comments that I’ve seen 👍👍
    Can you please explain how you write the data on the nand ? Dont you have to read data first from the old nand?

    • @applepietech
      @applepietech  Рік тому +1

      JCIDRepair program has nand configuration files for some models so you can just write those to the nands.

    I replaced all 4 NANDs as per the JC Programmer and put them at the correct places.
    All 4 are 00 of 0/1/2/4th Order.
    Power Rails are stable for more than 30 seconds.
    Pp2v5
    Ppbus (12.3V)
    Machine detects in recovery mode.
    I did a bare board restore and got error 1.
    Connected the trackpad and everything else.
    Now i get USB Host Error 9.
    Where could i have gone wrong ??

      Make sure you have charged battery plugged in. And make sure no damage anywhere else on the board

    Hi
    thanks for insights
    How do you validate the nand you've bought from aliexpress is good enough ?

    • @applepietech
      @applepietech  Рік тому

      Nands used in this video were taken from a donor board. You can do couple read/writes on your nands and see how they perform.

      @@applepietech Are those nands compatible with 2018 Mac Mini?

    Ouch 😂that was lucky. What temps in °C for the NAND desoldering/ resoldering and for cleaning up the new chips please?

    • @applepietech
      @applepietech  Рік тому +2

      Yep :). I’ll tell you in F. Though don’t take it as a guide since each equipment is different. To cut glue I used 460F and small nozzle cut under 45deg. For nand removal I used 760F on my hakko station with air at 4 and 10mm nozzle cut under 45deg. angle. Cleaning I did with 650F. Reball with 560F and air at 2. And resolder with 660F first with air on 2 and after it set moved air to 4 to make sure they soldered nicely

    good job! is it possible to replace only the defective ones from the same model donor board? it will work?

    • @applepietech
      @applepietech  Рік тому

      Thanks! No possible. You need to move all nand chips. Also nand chips from A1990 are also compatible with A1989

      @@applepietech also backwards? by that you mean that is possible to use a1989 chips on a1990 without reprogramming?
