We wanted to share our live version of “The Prayer” from our Christmas Concert at the Eccles theater! The energy and magic that happens when singing to a live audience is indescribable. We feel so lucky and grateful to have been able to sing for and meet so many of you this Christmas season.
Our prayer for you and for 2022 is that life will be kind. We pray that “every heart that’s broken will be mended.” We hope that “we will remember we are all God’s children.”

My husband and I stayed with a dying friend at the hospital recently and I wanted our friend to hear you sing this. It was playing when he left this world. You two have such an amazing sound. I can’t begin to explain how this touched me at the moment. God truly blessed you with beautiful voices.

From where it all began. A young girl could not practice with her choir because of covid so she asked her dad to sing The Prayer with her. Frim that humble beginning you have touched and blessed so many lives.

I remember hearing your 1st video singing this song and thinking, this daddy-daughter duo is something very special. That was such an understatement. My autistic son listens to you night after night as he goes to sleep. Your voices calm him. My heartfelt thanks to you and your lovely family.

I lost my Dad 8 years ago. I loved him more than life. He was my hero and best friend. I secretly think I died with him that April morning. I look and look and I still can’t find myself. He loved Josh Groban so much. Seeing this song covered by a beautiful father and daughter has me sobbing, not in a bad way, you made me feel close to my Dad for a few minutes. From the first time that I saw Mat and Savanna, I can remember thinking to myself, "Oh my goodness, these two are really going places".
One of the 1st songs I heard them sing. SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFULLY PERFECT
Best part, what I call the "leader/follower" portion of the song, starting at 2:36 with "We ask that life be kind..." This brings out the best in both Shaws.

Savanna, you have a beautiful, lyrical voice that has matured so much since this song was recorded in your living room. There is an added richness of tone that comes with maturing. I used to sing with my dad when I was a kid… so this brings back beautiful memories for me. Family music, singing solos in front of crowds, gave me so much confidence as an adult.

Thank you for being so honest and sharing these confusing feelings...I taught seminary last year over zoom and showed so many of your songs to my class for the opening song. You and your music touch so many people for good. Helps them feel loved and happy. The whole sexuality thing IS confusing for all of us. I wish we understood. Please keep trusting God. Trusting his servants, the Spirit, trusting yourself, that you are worthy of ALL of God's love. Keep making that beautiful music. Read Unmasked, if you haven't already.
