Tbh, i think this is one of - if not - the best figure when it comes to the face (among the females). The LR version looks a little bit weird with a couple of deformations (the eyes for example makes the LR version look sad whereas the Dissidia NT one makes her look fierce), and this one, just right.
The new Lightning FFXIII PAK version is really accurate to the first FFXIII game model. Lightning Returns version have a different facial structure because the developers wanted to give Lightning a make over for LR to reflect her new role. In the First FFXIII she was 21 years old having that baby face and in LR she was more than 500 years old since she became some sort of a higher being that never ages. I do like that they gave her some muscle tone since she was intently design to show a strong female protagonist who's adept in fighting. She was a soldier meaning she went through rigorous physical activities/training.
Do you know what size Lightning is to her other PAK party mates like Sno, Fang, Hope etc? I wonder if the older ones fit in scale with Dissidia Lightning
Same thing with Lightning from "Lightning Returns" PAK, happened to Sora Final Form PAK (limited 999 pieces from D23). Could you do a review on that one too if you get your hands on it?
Will defenitely do it if I get him. I've been trying to collect Kingdom Hearts PAK, but they tend to be very hard to find and older ones are quite expensive but still very alluring to get a hands on them :P
Finally a play arts on scale with squall. Now I just want other re release of cloud and noctis for the millionth time. But in all seriousness I've lost all interest with play arts. Bring arts is the way to go cuz it's in scale with most of my figures
Thank you for the review! I couldn't find any news about the comparison between Lighting XIII and Lightning Dissidia, I still can't decide which one I want to get for my XIII collection, I'm afraid Dissidia Lighting would be too tall, or if she will look "too good" with the rest...
I compare the old XIII and new Dissdia here in the clip. As the first one is quite dated PAKs, there is a lot of improvement from XIII version to this new Dissidia version. She will be a bit taller if you put her with other XIII PAKs though but not that too out of proportion.
LR Pak as others have stated is more goddess like and detailed than this figure. Still this new one is a decent figure and the market price for LR is pretty much over the top now.
My Lightning figure has very stiff knees. They won't move at all. I tried to heat her knees by holding her above boiling water, but I accidentally snapped one of her holster belt and now I'm afraid to do anything else. I don't want to break her. Do you have any safe trick to fix her knees? She's one of my most cherished possessions.
They made the play arts Kai 10 inch squall too feminine. He needs to get back to his masculine form. Not buff. But at least look like a male. The shoulder are atrociously feminine. Hope they make an original ff8 squall style 10 inch version. And the play arts Kai dissidia squall has no bicep swivel. Can’t even two hand grip his gunblade.
I'm so happy they slimmed down the boxes they get very room consuming.

Yeah the scale of Play Arts Kai are really all over the place. At least they are continuing the Dissdia Line with Terra from FFVI :D

If you already have the other XIII figures, go with the older one.
