Planning to go first week of December 2019 My idea is to RD and hit Big Thunder & Splash first thing in the morning. Bang off a number of the rides in Adventure and Frontier, do the haunted mansion, grab a quick bite to eat around 10-11, and then when the lunch rush hits, have my first FP for Peter Pan, do more Fantasy rides, and then 2nd FP for SDMT. Slowly make way over to Tomorrow and have the last FP for SM probably around 4-5. Try and get the other rides in during the dinner rush, and not do dinner reservation until past 7:30. Not too worried about Fireworks, so I think that would be our best best to get as much in for a day at MK. I will be subscribing to Touring Plans to help me out more though.
Great video! We are going to MK on Labor Day weekend for one day. Hoping to ride 7DMT, PETER PAN and BIG THUNDER with fastpasses. This is a very exciting trip since it will be our first with our whole family in 20 years.
What about a plan for one full day, plus a Not so Scary Halloween Party day entering the park around 5. The rides that change for the Halloween Party, like haunted mansion, we would save for the second day. Kids version.
We are doing two days in mk, 2 adults and we have split the park in two. Thanks to touring plans we did our plan and worked out really good, 61 days to go
my sister and I used the touringplans personalized plan for all the parks back when we went in sept 2015 the parks were so quiet we did all the rides and saw some characters and ate at a couple restaurants we even did the people mover like four times because we didn't know what else we felt like doing and we did space mountain three times. we only did the dwarf coaster once because it was brand new and even though the park was like a crowd level 2 the wait time was like 3 hours lol so we did a fast pass. we did all that in one day and the plan worked really well. I'm going in a couple weeks using the plans again and watching your videos, it makes doing what you want to do and planning how to do it a lot less stressful and it works so well, would be lost without it lol. this time I'm going with my boyfriend as an extremely last minute trip just finished booking everything a few days ago but I feel with all the tools the site has that I've used its going to be a really good trip, I even used the reservation finder a couple weeks ago for bog and it sent me a notification saying it found a table within a week for the day I inputted but we changed our dates by a couple weeks so I put a new search in fingers crossed feels good to know it worked though lol. well be leaving at the end of this month really excited! thanks again for all the really useful info!
Thank you for the tips! I’d love to see your suggestions for a 2-day (before dinner) tour of MK during Christmas Week with elementary school boys (no princess stuff). Wondering if we can even hit all the highlight attractions in those 2 days! We may have to go Monday the 24th, which has EMH, but we’re staying offsite. Is this going to be possible?? Thank you for all the wonderful videos!
Im loving all these videos and love your touring plan software/guidebooks! Could you do a video on what the best strategy is to get an FP at the last minute. A couple of weeks before.
Hi Brian Brilliant information thank you. Would it be possible to show on map a guide to the least amount of walking within the parks. Unfortunately have problem with knee and any reduction in the distances would be so helpful.
We've avoided the huge crowds by historically going the first or second week of May for our last 3 visits, however as our daughter starts full time school this year, we will need to use the algorithm. In May we've never seen unmanageable crowds, including this past May's visit.
so my family finds splitting the park in half, if you have two days, a great strategy. I think it is important to consider the line and time of year you go. In the winter it's not a big deal to wait outside, but during the summer/rainy fall outdoor queues without cover would warrant a fast pass in my opinion. also lines that are notoriously boring are harder to wait in such as jungle cruise, and big thunder ,you might want a fast pass for them. I think getting to Peter pan first or pooh first is great as they both have fun interactive lines, especially Peter pan's flight, which you miss if you use the fast pass. I think this video focused heavily on fantasyland. perhaps you can work on an alternate plan where you don't start there.
Hey Brian, thank you so much for these great videos. I would be interested in hearing your tips for handling the crowds between Christmas and New Years. Also, is Disney Springs doing the drone show for 2017? Party on.
HI Brian, We have our touring plans all set for the first couple of days of our visit. What would be really useful would be if you could do a quick map video for what to do in the first hour of EMH. Preferably coving all four parks would be great. Thanks Peter
I've just found your channel and am finding your videos super helpful. How about some plans aimed at solo Disney travellers? I find most DW videos are aimed at families, groups ect and would love some tips for those doing it solo (like me) Thanks!
Would love to see a two day plan of MK! Going over spring break (ugh! Crowds!) March 2019. Thinking we'll do Fantansyland/Tomorrowland, then Adventure/Frontierlands the next day. I know my daughter is going to want to see the parade one of those days. Where does that fit?
You could fit the parade in either day. I would just play it by ear -- if you notice some empty space on the parade route 30 or so minutes before and want a rest take it. If not, add it to the plan for day 2. - Brian
Great video. Always informative and insightful. Precisely why I've had a ongoing Touring Plans membership even though my last trip was in 2013. Heading to WDW Oct/Nov and will be attending both Halloween and Christmas parties plus will be in MK on the weekend between the two. Any pro suggestions for touring with this trip configuration?
What a fantastic trip you have planned! We have videos planned for the Halloween and Christmas party, so I'll be sure to put our best tips in there for you to utilize. Thank you for watching! - Angela
Fantastic as always Brian, thanks so much for posting this! We have an 8am breakfast booking for Be Our Guest (I know, that's like winning lotto right?). We have a Touring Plans subscription (which is great btw) but I can't figure out how this dining reservation factors into things. We really want to ride Seven Dwarfs but I was considering booking the fastpass for the evening then we could ride it at night and I was counting on getting from BOG to Seven Dwarfs quite quickly in the morning, so ride it twice in one day. Does that seem reasonable or should we still book a morning fastpass booking for this? We are travelling mid-January if that makes any difference. Thanks for any advice you have!
Angela here! I had a similar experience (8:10 am at BOG). We had a party of 6 (including a 1 and 3 year old), and we were done with breakfast about 15 minutes before the park opened. That gave us plenty of time to line up and when the rope dropped, we walked onto 3 attractions right away. With that in mind, your idea seems very reasonable. I would personally save your FP and use it on something else. Good luck!
Hi Angela, love your videos too, you are so informative but also make me laugh - love your sense of humour! Thanks for that. I will update my Touring Plan and use the FP for something else as you suggest. Excellent! Cheers Toni
I have a question... because in the recent years i‘ve only been to DLP. To get the Fastpasses. Do you still scan your Park tickets by the Fastpass booth by the ride and come back when it‘s your time frame or do you have to book them in Advance? I know you have to book them for set character locations like Ariel‘s Grotto. Help would be hugely appreciated 💖
Totally different at WDW than in California. It's all done electronically now thru MagicBands & the app. Check out this other Touring Plans video for info on that! ua-cam.com/video/93l2FY3HmzY/v-deo.html
My trip is November 25-Dec 2. One the days we plan on going to the MK (28th), the Christmas party will take place. We are on the fence on going to that with the kids (ages 1 and 2, will be a week before she turns 3). Do you have a recommendation if we should go to the party? Also, because attendance should be down during that day, would we be able to knock out a good portion of the park so we can spend only 1.5 days at MK rather than a full 2 days? Would attending the party also enable is knock a good chunk as well depending on how well the kids hold up? I also want to say that the touring plans app is great (still trying to figure our how to customize a plan) and the reservation feature helped be secure diner at a place my parents really wanted to go to. Keep up the good work!
I took my kids to the Christmas party at 2 & 4. They enjoyed the dance parties, the parade, and the "free" cookies, but I'm not sure they really noticed that it was different than a regular day. I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't necessarily argue either way for it. If you go, you'll probably enjoy yourself, but I don't know that it's a "must do." Days where there are parties are usually great days to visit the Magic Kingdom. The shortened park hours scare people toward other parks, meaning lower wait times all day. You only see it get a little busier starting at 4pm when the partygoers start showing up. As far as rides during the party, wait times are usually quite low (
So if I plan my fast pass an hour out like you said but I wait longer than that do I lose my FastPass from being late? Can I reschedule? Also how far out do I need to plan fast passes?
I don't think I am going to be able to get a fast pass for 7DMT, Peter Pan or Enchanted tales since I am not staying on Disney property. What should I do to avoid the lines? Is there anything that can be done? Does a touring plan help with that sort of thing?
Yes, that's exactly what a Touring Plan is meant for. The short answer would be to do those things (especially 7DMT and Pan) first thing in the morning and get FastPasses for any of the major attractions that you can--rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, or the Haunted Mansion. - Brian
No, the monorail at Disney World only connect the Magic Kingdom Park with the 3 closest hotels (Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian) and the Transportation and Ticket Center (parking area). There is a monorail at the Orlando Airport, but that only connects the gate areas to the main terminal. If you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can take the Magical Express bus back and forth to and from the airport (video on that coming pretty soon). - Brian
You can get more as long as you have used all of your pre-selected FastPasses (it doesn't have to be 3). As soon as you tap the first FastPass scanner on your last pre-selected FastPass, you can go into the My Disney Experience app and select another one (if available). Once you use that one you can get another, and so on. - Brian
It's not different in that individual wait time, but pre-opening is time that you can't do anything else in the park. So if you waited an hour later in the day for Mine Train, that would be time that you could be doing other -- possibly multiple -- attractions. It's an attempt to optimize your entire day. - Brian
Hi Phil! I take a high-res image of the park map, convert it to a pencil sketch in my Photoshop knockoff, print it onto about 8 pages of paper, tape them together, and color in highlights with colored pencils. Not very high tech :-) - Brian
Thanks for this video. I loved it. I'm a subscriber to Touring Plans.com. LOVE IT!!!! Can't imagine going to Disneyworld without my customized touring plans from TouringPlans.com. I have a trip coming up in October with a group of 7-(3 adults, 2 preteens, 2 children who are 42"). We have 1 day and 1 MNSSHP night. What would you suggest to maximize our park time?
BrianThank you for your videos and touringplans.com (recently subscribed). The wealth of information is mind blowing but I'd be grateful for some guidance on one point. We are a family of 4 (kids 9 & 6) going to Disney for 10 days this Easter (busy busy). We want to see the 4 parks as well as have some time in a water park, escaping, shopping. We are happy to get up early and smash the parks first thing but your suggestion of bailing out for a break in the afternoon is a tip we will take on board. We're staying near Epcot (S&D resort) and whilst want to do all major rides etc. my wife and daughter would like to meet as many characters as they can. In order to fit in (without over-doing the time in the parks and having a mental and physical blow out)the princesses, Mickey meet etc. would you suggest 3 easy visits to MK and, maybe 2 easy ASK visits (1 early morning, 1 later start into the evening say) or is that unnecessary and working against the crowds (i.e. is an early start always the best at busy times)?Sorry for the long query. Trying to work out where to go when is difficult to work out. Any comment would be great. Thanks.
Hi Gareth! That's a good question with a tough answer; the problem is that often the best time to visit characters and to ride rides are the same times (morning or late evening). I would recommend using the first hour or two on rides, then maybe visit one or two characters and meet other characters as you find shorter lines throughout the day. I would suggest asking your daughter to pick a few characters that she would definitely like to meet and focusing on those with any other being a bonus. The character meets vary wildly--even we have not been able to accurately predict most--so trying to meet 5 or 6 per day could be very aggravating. If you narrow it to 1 or 2 per day and use the Touring Plans for the rides (and get there early of course) you'll end up feeling like you've done a lot. - Brian
I’m a Disney Travel agent and for my clients that want to meet characters, I highly recommend going to character meals if you can swing it! You could go to one meal that has Mickey characters (like Chef Mickey’s) and a princess one like Akershus and meet most of the characters while dining. You have to eat anyway and it’s a nice break. Plus you’re in air conditioning and sitting down!
There is a ton to do at Magic Kingdom and the highest height restriction in the park is 40 in, so your daughter may be able to do everything anyway. Two days is great because you can split the park in half, tackle a half each day, and have extra time to reride at the end. - Brian
TouringPlans actually Brian, space mountain is 44 inches, but 40 and under for everything else. Taking my 4 and 2year old in September to mnsshp and mk.4 year old is 44 on the money, 2 year old will be 3 at end of September is 383/4, hoping for growth spurt 🤗
Don't FP peter pan, you miss the new stuff only seen in the standby line. Splash Mountain is no wait in the morning -- take the train over to it since it's right next to the train station.
I love touring plans, but as well as I know MK, your video totally confused me! ... and I'm not holding your dislike for Country Bears against you.... :)
How likely are you to get fast passes for popular riders of you aren't staying at a Disney resort? Also, if I'm traveling with a group, do I need to purchase my tickets all on the same account to book fast passes for our group?
Yes, summer is tough. Normally I send them outside or make other arrangements, but the background sound really pervaded this time. Don't worry, they'll be back to school soon enough. - Brian
I LOVE THIS!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO GIVE THIS VALUABLE INFORMATION.
Loved you being self aware. Made me laugh
Subscribed to the plans last year, and planned it all out. Hardly queued at all at Magic Kingdom in August.
Touring plans are awesome definitely our go to website and app!!
Jungle Cruise is a great use of a fast pass because the lines get very long in the afternoon and the queue really sucks.
Love this! Thanks
Planning to go first week of December 2019

watching this while making my own personalized touring plans!!! 60 days till DISNEY
When the train is working again, it could be a good way to get from space mountain to big thunder in less steps.
We are heading to MK for two days with 4 adults and 3 kids (5,3 and 4mon). Any tips on planning the days with rider swap and FP?
Buzz lightyear’s space ranger spin and under the sea: voyage of the little mermaid are the rides’ names

Love these videos. Touringplans.com is our go to tool for Disney world planning.
We love to hear comments like this. So happy you're enjoying our services! - Angela
No problem. Thank you for providing the great service. We are heading there again in November and I already have my Dashboard started.
I don't think I am going to be able to get a fast pass for 7DMT, Peter Pan or Enchanted tales since I am not staying on Disney property. What should I do to avoid the lines? Is there anything that can be done? Does a touring plan help with that sort of thing?

We are rope dropping to Peter Pan with a 6 year old and teens. Is it best to go to Winnie the Pooh next or Haunted Mansion/ Big Thunder?
Does the Disney monorail take you to Orlando International Airport?
No, the monorail at Disney World only connect the Magic Kingdom Park with the 3 closest hotels (Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian) and the Transportation and Ticket Center (parking area). Does anybody know how to get large maps like this?
Can you link me on the image that was used on this vid, I would like to print one out myself :)
Can you get more fastpasses after you use the 3, or is that it for the day?
You can get more as long as you have used all of your pre-selected FastPasses (it doesn't have to be 3). As soon as you tap the first FastPass scanner on your last pre-selected FastPass, you can go into the My Disney Experience app and select another one (if available). Once you use that one you can get another, and so on. - Brian
Thank you!
Do you have touring plans for Early Morning Magic at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom?
I don’t even bother with trying to get a fast pass for 7d mine train I wait 30-10 mins before the park closes by then the wait is usually down
Where did you get the map?
Where did u get that map?
I just wonder, people wait an hour before opening to ride the mine train. How is it different from actually queueing 1 hour for it later in the day.
It's not different in that individual wait time, but pre-opening is time that you can't do anything else in the park. So if you waited an hour later in the day for Mine Train, that would be time that you could be doing other -- possibly multiple -- attractions. It's an attempt to optimize your entire day. - Brian
Nice video
where can i get one of those posters?
Hi Phil! I take a high-res image of the park map, convert it to a pencil sketch in my Photoshop knockoff, print it onto about 8 pages of paper, tape them together, and color in highlights with colored pencils. Not very high tech :-) - Brian
Darn, I was hoping I could buy one somewhere, it'd be great for a Disney display wall! Oh well, guess I'll go the low-tech route too!
Thanks for this video. I loved it. I'm a subscriber to Touring Plans.com. LOVE IT!!!! Can't imagine going to Disneyworld without my customized touring plans from TouringPlans.com. Peter Pans a classic it’s a must for our family even though I have teenagers.
Btw it's space ranger spin
Under the sea journey of the little mermaid
Astro orbiters
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks! I could tell you the name of every attraction in the park 98% of the time when not on camera and 7% when on camera - Brian

TouringPlans Brian. Thank you for your prompt reply. Appreciate your comments and work to help us tackle, and most importantly, enjoy Disney etc.
Don't do Disney world without Touring Plans! It's worth vastly more in time and money than the small investment
It’s about time someone admitted to not liking Country Bears
I have two days a magic kingdom in October 2018 with a 11 year old boy and a 6 year old girl that is under 44 inches. Ideas?
Space them out-good pun
Ur lol funny!
I love touring plans, but as well as I know MK, your video totally confused me! ... and I'm not holding your dislike for Country Bears against you.... :)
watching with sub titles I will be sure to check out turin clams.com lmao
I hope when we go to Disney World Oct 13-16 it won't be crowded. One good thing is no magic hours for any park. This video is all too technical.
Not enjoy half the park. Knock out half the park, as if you were trying to tackle as many attractions like it's a job.
Point taken about the language use, although I would argue that avoiding very long waits is still more enjoyable. - Brian
If your not going to treat it like a job then touring plans prob isn't for you! Hah
How likely are you to get fast passes for popular riders of you aren't staying at a Disney resort? Also, if I'm traveling with a group, do I need to purchase my tickets all on the same account to book fast passes for our group?
Sara Linden depends. 60 days out to get a fast pass at Avatar. 59 days is too late. 30 days for non disney resort guests. No chance avatar.
Paper map? Wow-cutting edge graphics. This was painful to watch. Don’t waste ur time with this guy!
Thank you for correctly identifying the bit. - Brian
Immarsatphone, why don't you try to do this since you are so smart? (yes, this was sarcasm)
Oh my God. Stay on topic. I keep having to leave your videos because you never get to the point
It's very distracting with the kids hollering in the background. Maybe record the next one when they've gone to bed.
Yes, summer is tough. Normally I send them outside or make other arrangements, but the background sound really pervaded this time. Don't worry, they'll be back to school soon enough. - Brian
Omg.... had to stop ! This guy is awful
