The fact that Damon didn’t die is why I like the ending. Life isn’t fair and some people have to live with the demons of terrible things they did. The fact that he became a soldier leads me to believe he probably became responsible and dutiful, but he will always remember that time him, Stone, and Roberts killed Cochise. That’s how life works sometimes. Messed up.

Cooley High and Cornbread Earl and Me were two 70s classic movies that had me in tears at the end of each movie. The entire Motown Soundtrack hit me hard. Two excellent classic films.❤
Next to Cooley High, my other favorite movies that were directed by Michael Schultz are still Car Wash, Which Way Is Up?, Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon, and Krush Groove

@montysmith6355 wait?! What?! Why?! 😆 I was in the army right after 9/11 and then spent 20 years in the U.S.O, and what you're saying isn't making much sense to me! Why would they go crazy, for a murderer masquerading as a military brother?! 😆 I mean the man literally beat someone to death unjustly and now is in a position to lead and order around other soldiers and you all thought that was a good thing?!
Damon should have been imprisoned for murdering Cochise. *Damon- spending life in prison, without parole, for murdering Coochie. A jury found him gulity of 1st degree murder. I wasn't too fond of the ending because of Damon not being punished for murdering Coochie. At least his gang friends got theirs in the end.
No....the teacher tried to get Stone and Robert out of jail with a slap on the wrist charge but they had already gotten into too much trouble with the law in the past so the cop the teacher knew couldn't or wouldn't give them a break like Cochise and Preach
Criminally underrated film. Do not miss it. This ending scene when the Four Tops kicks in still gives me chills.

I replayed this scene over and over on vhs…totally cathartic with the four tops playing in background. Nice to know preach made it.
Epic ending ! True Cinema!

Love that song by the Four Tops.. classic.
The beginning of how certain songs/soundtracks hit harder from the movie than just from the radio because of the movie scenes....😳🙄🤔🧐👌✊
I always felt Damon should’ve died too he was just as responsible
Juanita Wright all cause of some skank plus Cochise beat his ass

My favorite ending in any movie. (It’s right up there with Shawshank). It lets me know that even in despair there is always hope.
Loved this movie. When I found out the director of this film is from Milwaukee, I was totally honored!!! Thanks for uploading
Yes sir!
Michael Schultz. He also directed movies such as Car Wash & The Last Dragon. I'm originally from Racine.
So sad that he died
Its such a bittersweet moment one of my favorites
Rest in peace to my homey’s 2020?
