Joe, this is a very much needed relief, side thought, I am out of words right now, but I am sure speaking for lots of people when I say, "thank you". This is a great idea and I am in.
Joe, thanks for this we had to cancel our trips for work and not so much that I am delayed on projects now is that I will have so much more to do later that my Photography biz and projects will be coming last when this uncertainty is over......but YAH HOME TABLETOP SHOOTING will get my mind off the crap ..........your a ROCK STAR Joe .....and your vids will be welcomed in the days to come ......Please stay safe and the same goes for all of your loved ones .........Live long and Prosper ......
I think this is a much needed video, Joe. Many of us have plenty to keep us busy, but in a semi-panic mode, like now, we don't always think of them. I just changed, my mannequin's dress, so she is more interesting to look at and photograph again, and I have a bunch of new lighting ideas to try using her. She is very patient with me when I do this. I will be working on some product photography ideas with the new 24" light box too. Then, I can always go out to the wood shop and make the Apple Boxes that I've wanted to make, and I'd like to build a box to keep my monolights, their power cords, and 7" reflectors in. I hate to paint, but there are two backdrops that I could do some DIY painting on as well. I'm certain that I can stay busy for two weeks or more, and I hope that maybe my plans will give others some ideas about things to stay productively busy doing. Cabin Fever is as real as a virus, and I do my best to stay busy to avoid Cabin Fever all the time,, but this virus and being locked up for it can bring on Cabin Fever too. Thanks Joe, great idea. Every time I start shooting a phrase allways sounds in my mind: your best shoot, is your next shoot. I look for another angle, another settings and keep shooting. Greetings from Italy 🙂
This is great Joe! I'm made a similar suggestion to people within the photo booth industry to help them upskill specifically their understanding of cameras/lighting during this unexpected downtime! I've already sent a few people to your channel. I offer photography training, but you do photography TRAINING! :) stay safe and keep well!
I live in the DC area and the place is a ghost town, I'm actually at work on the Hill now. I plan on shooting more landmark cityscape photos while there is next to no tourists, etc. But an indoor challenge is a great idea, thanks for pushing everyone, Joe. Unfortunately, I have a friend who has been shooting several news events around town and is symptomatic and we will know soon if he has it. Thankfully he is young and will probably kick this things butt even if he does test positive.
Yeah, the hospital would be rather pissed off if I didn't show up to help keep the lab running... I've been doing a bit of abstract during the season we call mud to help learn interesting ways of using flash.
I plan to spend my prison bubble time evaluating my gear collection and deciding what I don't need to take to my after life. Like do I need a portrait lens when i don't use it much now, and with no people left on the earth, why do i need it in the future. That kind of thing.
Both my weekend event shoots were cancelled. Thank goodness I have a full time job alongside my photography to keep the wages coming in. This virus sucks!
