For removing the "hose from hell", you were so close Tim. I just did the same turbo swap this weekend with much help from my friend Carl. We first tried the plastic line tool like you had without success. Carl figured that if we trimmed the tool a little shorter it would fit in the tight space and still have enough depth to insert deep enough to release the hose. It worked pretty easy then. 2007 GXP WITH 115k miles. Also your videos have been so helpful, thanks.
I've been looking for a series like this for a few years. I have a 2008 GXP with 50K miles. Discovered the car after I bought a base model for my daughter when she went to school. She would let me drive it when she came home. I enjoyed it so much, I bought the GXP. I'm looking for episode 9 but cannot find it. BTW, just fixed my drivers door handle. You might want to do preventative maintenence. Thank you !
Hey thanks for the comments itbis very much appreciated ! Did you find Episode 9? Otherwise here it is ua-cam.com/video/Hf4D-4Jttbs/v-deo.html I have just posted episode 10 and hope to install the Turbo in the next week !
Where the turbo is mounted to the Exhaust Manifold, what size are those nuts and was it a swivel impact socket that Dion used with the cordless angle drive?
I cannot remember the size of the nut but it was either a 13 or a 15 mm. Loosening the motor mount and raising the right side of the engine affords enough room to get in there from underneath and undo them. I used a deep socket but a deep on a swivel may work as well.
I'm in the middle of this now and need some help. Can someone tell me if the bottom oil/coolant line is accessible from the top or bottom everything else is already removed. Guessing the bottom but I was able to get to everything from the top, even the manifold nuts except for the bottom cat and bracket.
Hey Tim, I'm enjoying watching your upgrade as it progresses. Question: as I mentioned to you before I have the ruby red Redline, I'm considering adding a silver racing stripe down the trunk and Hood what do you think?
Yes the one I used is made by Gearwrench and there are other manufacturers and alternatives but I happen to feel there is good value vs price with GEARWRENCH www.gearwrench.com or search on amazon. I purchased through an amazon vendor.
Tim Ronak Thanks for the reply I own gear wrench’s But just wanted to be certain It was a “ gear wrench “ I have two gxps a 09 with the gxpp tune and intake along with charge tubes Along with a 08 gxp Both are envious green with light side tops Making them rare I have a gm performance parts cold air intake for my 08 Probably the last one out there But was thinking of doing what your doing to your sky to my 08 As my 09 is to rare and has all the factory upgrades already from the factory with documentation But my 08 I was thinking of doing this upgrade to I know for a fact you will want to buy the ddm short shifter kit and there brace kits for the chassis It’s makes the cars corner like there on rails Well worth the money And the center console with cup holders is worth every penny also It’s about an inch higher and is perfect for shifting and very durable much better than factory console Just my two cents I don’t work for then or anything Just they make very good quality bolt on and it fits parts for our little hot rods Again great videos Keep up the great work Jeff 😎

The tip on the PCV hose is gold. Allowed me to get the old turbo out and the new one in today. Thank you!
Awesome !! I am really glad it helped 😊
Thank you for your insight! Huge help! In the middle of trying to get that cat removed right now.
Yes the twisty rotation after raising up the passenger side of the engine is the clear ticket !
I finally got it done, I was just a little scared to jack up the engine, first time messing with motor mounts. Thanks again for your videos!
Bruce I am glad you have it a try … I makes the job a LOT easier … learning is part of the fun 🤩
Thanks for all the great videos
How do I find the parts list you showed in your video
I would do a screen capture of the video

I have just posted episode 10 and hope to install the Turbo in the next week !
Just placed my misc parts order! I hope to place my RPM order next week!
Awesome !! Martin has been a pleasure to do business with !

I just finished removing the stock turbo and I am ready to install the RPM upgraded K04. Do you have any or all of the torque specs for reassembly?
I do and will be posting those shortly ... I am installing my Big Wheel tomorrow

The oil coolant line bolts to the underside of the turbo but just pulls out of the oil pan. It is held in by an O-ring.
@@350tiger thank you I did figure everything out with access from the top it's a pain but doable
Where did you get the copper turbo>cat gasket from?
I obtained that gasket from RPM Motorsports with my turbo kit but ran the GM Ring gasket as I have a factory down pipe

Tks
Who makes the 15 mm gear wrench
Is it made by “gear wrench “
Great videos
Keep up the great work

Thanks for the reply
I own gear wrench’s
But just wanted to be certain
It was a “ gear wrench “
I have two gxps a 09 with the gxpp tune and intake along with charge tubes
Along with a 08 gxp
Both are envious green with light side tops
Making them rare
I have a gm performance parts cold air intake for my 08
Probably the last one out there
But was thinking of doing what your doing to your sky to my 08
As my 09 is to rare and has all the factory upgrades already from the factory with documentation
But my 08 I was thinking of doing this upgrade to
I know for a fact you will want to buy the ddm short shifter kit and there brace kits for the chassis
It’s makes the cars corner like there on rails
Well worth the money
And the center console with cup holders is worth every penny also
It’s about an inch higher and is perfect for shifting and very durable much better than factory console
Just my two cents
I don’t work for then or anything
Just they make very good quality bolt on and it fits parts for our little hot rods
Again great videos
Keep up the great work
Jeff 😎
Jeff D the part number of the wrench is 85915 I am told ... if it is a flex head version it is 86115
Tim Ronak
thanks so much
I appreciate it
Keep up the great work
Thanks again
