1969年にパリ国際ギター・コンクールにおいて日本人で初めて優勝した。
この数年後私の住む地方都市でリサイタルが行われ聴きに行った。
それまで何人かのリサイタルを聴いたことがあったが、彼らとはものが違った。
完璧なテクニックに裏打ちされ紡ぎ出される音楽に驚嘆したことを覚えている。
歴代最高の日本人ギタリストだと思う（私見です）。
早くに亡くなられたことはギターを愛するすべての人にとって大きな損失であった。
In 1969, he became the first Japanese to win the Paris International Guitar Competition.
A few years later, I went to hear a recital he gave in the local city where I live.
I had heard a few recitals up until that point, but this was different.
I remember being astonished by the music he spun, backed by perfect technique.
I think he was the greatest Japanese guitarist of all time (this is my opinion).
His early death was a great loss for all those who love the guitar.

Watanabe Norihiko's first recital was held on June 29, 1967. The day after the recital, which caused a huge sensation in the Japanese guitar world, this album was recorded while still excited. At the age of 19, this was Norihiko Watanabe's first recording, with perfect technique and mature music!
