There's alot of really good fm UA-camrs out there however I find there's a lot of "buy these players" or "use this tactic".....I love how you are genuinely offering tutorials and advice and then letting us sort it out ourselves. Love the presentation too.......keep up the great vids
@@StingerNeilD finally the kind of tactics tutorial I was looking for. Far better than the usual "find your strongest players and work around them"... I dont know how to work around my best players if I don't understand how to take advantage of them! You make it insightful which is what I've been looking for. Omg. Finally.
Great video as standard Stinger! A really good guide to a balanced 433 (my preferred formation) with plenty of room to tweak too! Again... Great work and keep the content coming... Please!
Great vid. I like to play a possession based 4-3-3 dm wide, and have slightly different roles and instructions. But, that's the beauty of the game. There are so many ways to set up a tactic.
I'm picking up from this that you pick your striker role based on your midfield configuration so how do you decide which central midfield roles to use? Is it based on how good your team is in your league? Why would I pick box to box over CM(A) or AP(A) for example? If I've set up to play a striker who stays up top, what should I do when the opposition is smothering him and he can't get on the ball? Sometimes I really struggle to get an AF(A) or Poacher on the ball in a 433.
Love the video Neil! 😀 I always find playing 2 inside forwards on attack with the advanced forward ends up with one of my IFs underperforming in fm21. I ended up using an IF and IW on opposite side on attack and worked wonders. Also started using the half back role with my wing backs being ultra aggressive and I’m destroying teams for fun!
Mint video this. Struggled with my team scoring goals with a very similar tactic. Had overlap right back on there didn’t realise that stopped my attacking inverted winger getting up there and slowing the pace down. Cheers
I just wished to thank you, for these quality videos! I had a look around at your channel, and I happily subscribed :) I love FM and I am really thankful for your content. Keep up the good work, and thanks :)
Hi mate, recently found your videos for fm24 and saw in the comments you recommend this video to someone about tactic building. Appreciate this video is older so some things might not apply now but in terms of player instructions are there do’s and don’ts? Quite inexperienced with fm and trying a playthrough starting at portsmouth as they’re my local. Love the vids mate, all the best 👍🏼
Thank you mate, early days just keep it simple, don't do to many, just focus on extenuating the positives, good dribbling - dribble more etc. If you have a good passer then add take more risks and more direct passing. Adding tackle harder to attacking players seems to be the way to go for the match engine too.
I'd like the build a 433 with Arsenal(When I finally get the game, I have uni work). With Tierney as WB and Tomiyasu as FB, White and Gabriel as BPD, Partey as the single pivot( role to be decided) Xhaka as CM(s), Ødegaard as a Mez(Sup), Saka as a IW, Martinelli (IF)/Rowe(IW) and Laca as (DLF). I've seen some stuff on the forums about balancing the roles with the mentality to keep the side compact. So I'll see if I can do that.
Hi i watch most of your videos about tactics but nothing work i try to make a good tactic for PAOK in Greece if you can help i will appriciate much something i dont get about passing nothing to work as i want the team to play
Thanks Neil, Your videos are always interesting and you make the game easier to understand (struggling with FM ain’t played it since CM days) I’m doing an Arsenal save right now! Does training/routine make a difference to formation results?
Thank you Colin. As for training. It's unproven but makes sense to implement it. My good friend Leyodemus has a video on training on fmscouts UA-cam releases later this afternoon
Hi Neil after some advice. I've started a save with a friend hes gone UTD ( as always ) I've done somethin different and gone Real Madrid. Played our first season and I won the league but I struggled really to find a tactic that was good both attacking and defending. Going into our second season I've signed Mbappe & Pogba on a free but I'm struggling to cone up with a tactic that suits them plus players like Vini Jnr and Benzema. Could you please give me some tips or advice please
Good video. I really need to start making my own tactics rather than just going gegenpress even though it’s not necessarily suited to my players. My fav tactic is 433 so I’m hoping to pull it off with Chelsea and then Newcastle rather than having to use a 4231 lol
Great Video ! very useful for those of us that want to learn how to create a tactic and appreciate this. Would it be possible to have a sub-set series for the 433 formation, and in those you could look at the different combinations of roles/duties for each department ie defence / midfield and attack in separate videos ?
Only position I don't get is Mezzala in cm. It shows they should go on side but with winger. I don't get how that should work at all. I use cm on attack coz i just don't know how to use mezzala
Good vid mate. Are you having a problem with possession? I've tried multiple 433 and 4231 systems with my Arsenal team and seem to be on the back foot every game, even against lesser opposition. Finished with 40% possession against Norwich at home, despite us having 20+ shots and them having only 2

Thank you for this comment! That is always my goal. Just to help people understand the game a bit more
Makes building tactics look easy, Never even thought about Advanced playmaker on attack from cm position

Exactly mate. No definitive way to do anything 👍

Well explained. Love it!
Fantastic video - gave me the feeling that my fumblings in the dark tactically do have some semblance of logic behind them 😉😎
Love the video Neil! 😀

My pleasure Simon mate
Love a 433.. played it with my West Ham team last year.. Rice DM.. Fornals AP.. Soucek B2B. Done bits. Great vid mate 👊🏻
Great combo that bud

Loving the new camera set up mate!
Really good informative video Neil - Really enjoyed it.
Thank you Cameron buddy
When you fE in Central Midfield would Set a AP and a Box to Box...would this a Overload on the "10" ?
Great work once again

They should be perfect for a 433
really good video with nice explanations. The only thing missing for me is, why you switched the duties at atletico Madrid.
From memory that was probably because that was my main save so I was probably switching on a game by game basis

Take a look at the 100 tactic in the downloadable playlist
Well I just have to say it .. the tactic is working very very fine .. in danis 🇩🇰 lower League ✅👏🏽
Great to hear man
What if you got really great wingers in winger roles, what should your fullbacks/wingbacks take as role?
Nothing stopping you having aggressive fullbacks too. I'd maybe have your wingers on roam though

Thank you mate. Just give it a go. Take a step back and think if it looks balanced. Once you nail it there's no better feeling
What roles should the LB and RB be given if I'm running just 2 pacey wingers in the Norwegian 3rd division I just have them on both FB on SUP atm
That would be fine imo

I'll see if I can fit this in. Got a lot to get through but great suggestion
Does being on support mean like a box 2 box type of role?
Nice one .. 👍🏽
Only position I don't get is Mezzala in cm. It shows they should go on side but with winger. I don't get how that should work at all. I use cm on attack coz i just don't know how to use mezzala
Ive done a vid in the 'know your roles' playlist that might help you
@@StingerNeilD yeah i watched it a little bit after this :P
Great vid mate. Can you do a same type of video for 4231 please. Thanks bro👊🏾
It will be on the way soon 👍
Dude, I'm loving the camera! I've been so busy with school so I haven't been playing or watching as often, but I will get to it after the semester!
Don't worry dude. The full final game isn't out till Nov 9th anyway 👍
I use mezzanine on attack. And box to box. Works well
Nice combo
If my striker didn't drop deep. Do you thing a CM on attack will cover those gaps behind the striker?
Always worth a try. Watch it in 2d on comprehensive or even full match. He'll get closer if you are playing a high line too.
If our team play away, the mentality always set to positive or we change the mentality?
Really depends in your opponent and how to games going
might use this with porto..

I have when I play wide yes mate. Playing narrow we seem to be on top with possession
