Geo metro was mid 40’s but close. Also economy was much better then. You could get gas for well under a dollar. Fast food was just that. Shitty cheap food. 10 bucks fed several people. Or even a dozen at some places. With things like $0.35 cheeseburgers. Keep in mind minimum wage was about the same. Today where things are tight and want reliability of an I.C.E. The problem is now that it needs to go into a car that people can afford even with a low budget. Targeting the same crowd as the geo metro did. Poor people make up a bunch of this group. I saw more geo metros in the ghetto than anything else. As the economy gets tighter the demand for a cheap 50 mpg car becomes appealing to more people. Exspecially if you can make it in the 15k-20k range new! I think thats high tbh. But thats todays reality. You can find a few toyota’s just at the 20k range with less than 20k miles as an example. If he could hit that 15k range. He would crush the market. But i doubt thats who this car would target.

Hey Casey, if manufacture infrastructure and volcanic rock like Basalt is what you’re looking for; Utah is certainly an option. -International Hub Airport -I15 and I80 -railroads -racetracks for testing -Bonneville Salt Flats -“thinner” air to test turbo and engine efficiency -huge steel and aluminum foundries -giant fabrication capabilities And on and on -masterful engine builders with that old school knowledge A bunch of benefits -sadly no water based transport But there is absolute TRUCKLOADS of money in Utah. There are even a couple billionaires. Just an idea cause I’d love to see the Omega Car!
@CaseyPutsch maybe a conversation could be had with the Vanderhall automaker here. Small company but still unique outlook on the automotive sector. (Though I wouldn’t suggest setting up in the “Provo” area. The drivers there are HORRIBLE!)
Casey: A final decision on buying a 944 was made from watching your videos. You DID fill a void on UA-cam that was impossible to find elsewhere. That said, I completely agree that making $ of YT is a whack-a-mole game of shock-videos/click-bait to stay in business. From your last 2 videos; we've learned 2 things about you... all of us have. 1. You are extremely intelligent and talented with more to give to the world and yourself than just videos. 2. You have the gift of foresight seeing the world and politics for what it really is; not what people want it to be. I used to like you. Now I cherish your future praying that 10 years from now - you are a billionaire helping to rekindle our automotive industry CORRECTLY. Expanding throughout the rustbelt getting Akron to make tires again, Detroit the engine and Dayton to supply the brakes. The chances of this happening and you being the catalyst are high. ThankQ/5:5
You are a good man Casey. Putting your family first is everything. As a dad of 2 grown daughters being involved in there lives I would not change a thing no cars toys money is worth time lost with them. And having a great wife to support you is everything. Keep up the good fight.
Well said. I really love your innovation and motivation. Your love of family is inspirational. Have you thought about Texas or Arkansas for developing a car. I look forward to your next build. Godspeed.
@@CaseyPutsch Kinda Off Subject......I was very curious to see more about the Omega car & for the longest time wondered. Why hasn't a scooter 🛵 or motorcycle company. Built a fully enclosed, recumbent seated, aerodynamic 3 wheel scooter. With lightweight removable top enclosure. That could be removed on nice days. Like take the Piaggo mp3 or Yamaha tricity with the articulating 2 front wheels. Make it recumbent seated, with aerodynamic lightweight enclosure. So it be used year round for commuting. Along with 2 removable aerodynamic storage compartments that fit on the sides. For groceries,etc...A tandem seated recumbent could also carry 2 people. The front end articulates to lean into corners. So it'd be fun to drive & corner well without the front wheels needed to be very wide apart.....Think of those old airplane belly tank race cars. Except a Piaggo mp3 2 wheel front end & 1 or 2 wheels in the rear. Maybe 2 wheels placed closed together in the rear with rear wheel steering. So it could be stable with 4 wheels but narrow & carve corners without risk of sliding & wiping out.
Edison Motors is a company that aligns with the design principles of the Omega. Their craftsmanship would look good in the car, but them being on such a small scale means that lower price larger scale production is out of the question
You have a path, but will you take it? You started with... - Social media is not it (though it ranges from BS to inspirational and informative) - Time to create, build, and be part of industry - We can only control what we can control So, as some others have suggested, refine your Omega design and do it as a kit. It is a performance vehicle that, oh by the way, happens to be efficient as hell. That's unique. You built 1 vehicle, but the REAL challenge is in viably manufacturing it. So, all the challenge you could ever hope to have is redesigning it to be viably manufactured. The "where" is really going to be about where YOU are, and the solid like-minded team is willing to be. Example: If you want a poster child kick-ass group that builds both kit and complete vehicles, that would be Ultima in the UK. It's why Gordon Murray twice went there (for the F1 and the T50) to get mule chassis. Having been to their factory twice (great people) it's clear why they are the best. And out of a very efficient space. On my end, I manufacture my products in the 6th most expensive state to do business. Doesn't matter. You make it work. I encourage you to go take the viable manufacturer challenge. Avoid being the guy with the lawn. Go do something.
Great to see you back on UA-cam with an update. My two cents is you should do a 'prototype' run of the Omega cars in your own shop...think 20 or so units for proof of concept for production (as opposed to 1 of of 1). You have plenty of space (look at any number of small British car manufacturers like TVR of old for inspiration). Toss out a 'rough' price...I might be on board and would suspect others might be as well. Sourcing 20 used VW diesel power plants that could be refurbished might not be too tough in my opinion. This may not be the final high number production power plant, but also might be a good starting point. Get a few units out the door and I would suspect some venture capital guys become more intrigued. Ultimately, I would think you would need to start with some power plant readily available as tooling up for a bespoke engine is not likely economically feasible for the first little bit.
Casey you’re not the only one in the same mental state. You’re just brave to speak it out. On a high note you just saved your self therapy co-pays as we listen to you ….you’re welcome. Perhaps it won’t be as high paying but have you thought of being a homeschool shop teacher? Perhaps launching a program to bring school shops back for the homeschooling kids?
I took German in college around 1990. Immigration, particularly from Middle East countries, into Europe was a “concern” back then as far as affecting the German culture.
I had a German Green Card worker in my manufacturing company for 10 years or so and she was really smart and told me all the time they worried about what was happening to their country.
Nice seeing you doing great Casey and you are still unfiltered and real which I needed this video is amazing and shows that you still have a passion on working on stuff and to hear there's barely any support for ventures like your Omega Car is disappointing but is predictable as the current big players don't want any more competitors and other reasons, but you are still pushing through all of this my suggestion is to unfortunately go outside the US to seek investment as there's almost no one who will invest in US but IDK maybe something will change and things will happen we will see and lastly your watch business I'm really looking forward to it
As an asset allocator in Texas, there are a few folks here that share the same ideals as you here. Although you are right about traditional PE looking for a quick flip, there are still many who are looking to make seed investments; not just in the entrepreneur's idea, but in the entrepreneur as well. If you have an email I can reach out to, I would be happy to share additional details. My family has been in the jewelry/watch business for the past 30 years and I appreciate your new endeavour around mechanical watches. Wishing you the best.
Im really interested in diesel engines because it seems like you can make them run on any oil but modern diesel engines today are less reliable because of added emissions equipment. There has to be a better way of controlling emissions.
Great vid! I admit that I didn't follow the Omega car stuff but have been meaning to catch up for awhile now. I keep addictively doom scrolling for other material instead. I will watch it eventually. How about air bags, 5mph bumpers and all of the other safety related stuff cars need? At some point somebody has to do all that to make it viable. This will add 300 pounds to the car at least. Maybe youve already handled all that and I need to watch and learn? A car needs to be safe and practical for wide acceptance. How easy is it to get in and out of at the grocery store? I get the impression its a concept that needs a lot of refinement to attract buyers.
So you watch a few Wristwatch Revival videos and now you are going to manufacture boutique watches in your basement. That sounds like a solid business plan, cant wait to see what you buy next for your exotic/vintage car collection with the proceeds.
Is it possible for 30 year old to get in what your doing in Canada and how , if you give me some tips I would really appreciate it plus since I don’t know where to start or how good is the tuning and performance career is , I am going for heavy equipment mechanic .

Casey, Please don't even consider Hawaii. I have lived all over the country and have lived the last decade + in Hawaii. Hawaii is beautiful but it is the worst place to manufacture anything, 1) Hawaii is the most leftist and most repressive state in the country. It makes California look rightwing. There is only one party. 2) Hawaii is owned and run by ultra-rich Hawaiian natives allied with the former royal family. They absolutely DO want everybody else to work on their plantations and stay poor and they say so. They want no one who is not Hawaiian nobility to own anything. 3) They hate manufacturing and white people (although 90% of them are part white) and will oppose both for the silliest reasons. You cannot dig the basalt because that is the goddess Pele's body - a goddess the Hawaiian nobility rejected in 1819 BEFORE the missionaries arrived. SMH 4) Most Hawaiians need real jobs but do not want them. The government pays them to stay poor and education is non-existent and Native Hawaiian propaganda. You will have to import workers.
I was thinking similar....No way would he want to try far left Hawaii....I think the only way I'd want to live in Hawaii is. By either being rich so I can come & go as I please. Or by living on a 45 ft sailboat ⛵ with onboard 65mph lightweight motorcycle or E cycle. For a few years until I get bored of Hawaii.
As you know Magna is a 0.5 tier automotive supplier. Manufacturing is hard and expensive but would love to see the Omega car in production! Would be a great option for many people. Just imagine 100 mpg with a 20 gallon fuel tank, 2000 miles of range!!! A friend had an old diesel VW diesel truck with a 50 gallon fuel tank, as teenagers we could travel anywhere for not much money!!!
Automotive plant, perhaps consider income tax free states such as TN, TX, etc.? Read a number of articles where the trapped air is analyzed in amber and CO2 and O2 where nearly triple what we have today indicating that atmospheric pressure was triple as well. Plants and trees prospered thousands of years ago, i.e. trees north of the artic circle in Alaska.
Casey do you have any concerns with meeting crash regs, fuel regs, or grappling with production issues? These are often are hurdles for upcoming car companies.
There is no way in its current form will pass (US) safety regulations. By the time all the airbags/ safety systems and crumple zone this will practically double in weight like all compact cars from the 80's compared to today's counterparts. I also have grave concerns about it being EPA certified particularly if this is the 1.9T TDI engine I believe it is. Add the required DEF system and it's going to kill performance and weight even more. Don't get my pessimism wrong because building a car from the ground up is amaazing but realistically if this leaves the prototype stage it will not be in its current state.
Opportunity zone is interesting concept however in practice most of the investment is in restaurants and retail business which change hands and close the doors often. It would be interesting if there was a industry opportunity zone approach that was less corporatized, and more small business and inventive of course the biggest hurdle are the politicians who support it and either want a cut of the action or a accomplish point to keep them in office.
I think you and DEBOSS GARAGE would make a great team. He's got a similar passion as you and doing a really cool development of diesel ~ e/v for heavy trucks (first, then pickups). Focusing on efficiency to make for a better world, low cost to the average men.
Great to hear from you, Casey. I hope you continue to keep your YT friends & subscribers informed of the projects that you're involved with. I'm always interested in watches.
Maine might be an option for building new cars... Hundreds of years of boatbuilding experience along the coast making commercial boats, yachts, military ships. Composites, welding, etc... Southern 1/4 of the state is all rich karens mind you.... Inland is empty paper mills and cheap land. Lots of veterans everywhere. We've got more going for us than basic tourism economy. The governor is trying to apply people's composite and construction skills to windmill construction but is about to learn that hard way that has an impractical future.
@@CaseyPutsch Casey people aren't as dumb as you think. Just like a few others pointed out, the omega is a rolling coffin. You won't share anymore info on it because you think people will just believe you. For all we know the engine is powered by hamsters on a wheel.
1) Watch your back! Tin foil hats aside, when anybody decides they want to upset the balence of am economy, even if for the better, then the deep pockets start moving to stop you. 2) I wish you good luck! We need the auto industry to be drastically upset. I am done with the stuff that us auto is trying to shove dows our throats!!
Watching your past videos reminds me of Preston Tucker and how his dream was destroyed by politicians and the SEC. If you ever decide to try going overseas, would you consider Japan?
Idk, I think if a tribe was willing to have a vehicle manufacturing plant built on their reservation, that would be pretty cool. Unfortunately, the reservations usually attract businesses that are trying to escape some sort of regulation, i.e. gambling, which doesn't really bring a good reputation with it. But an actual industry, producing an actually good product, that justifiably prioritizes hiring Native Americans instead of effectively as a pity hire... that's really not an evil thing - they deserve the opportunity to grow too and not be regarded like a museum exhibit.
Bro manufacturing built this country Ford ,Edison. I asked my family who is the greatest industrialist alive today. Turns out their politics outweighs their logic and when I told them Elon Musk was him all they said was oh it’s not him couldn’t even give another name building things is what makes us great man. We got to get back to it we lose.
Honestly i am mildly disappointed, you fell off hard, bud. Hope you get your head together and get some luck in bringing an efficient & recyclable car forwards. I know well that you seem to have a good heart & good head but seem to have trouble with the larger picture of why in a lot of politics. Im dipping because i dont like to support maga creators, best of luck on omega car though.
no keep watching. Casey really isn't maga. I think he just pretends to be cuz he has so many followers that are. In reality Casey lives the kind of leftwing lifestyle that kamala would applaud. That's why he gets so angry in his vids because it conflicts with his personal views.
Omagacar is yrying to beake in to THREE monopolies,, big oil, ice cars, Electric cars, You need a minivan like the Scion SB, to be the most usefull to the most people. 🤠👍🏻🇺🇸
Me I think home manufacturing is the future of saving the environment but you need home repair and recycling. If you look at 3d printing we need to be able to recycle the printed materials back into raw filament. And the thing about ev car and your omega car the ev car needs electricity to charge and most people charge their cars when they get home from work or school and that is after peak production of solar power or wind so they use non renewable energy now back to your car bio fuel is better for the environment than a battery in the landfill and people needs to stop lying most batteries used cellular phones tablets and laptops goes to the landfill.
If I had an extra billion or 2 laying around doing nothing, I'd move you to South Carolina. Sadly I'm just a poor lowly truck driver. We do have auto assembly plants here, but they're all manufactured in foreign lands and assembled here. It's quite sad what our government has done to our countries manufacturing industries through over regulations.
You’re making excuses for not doing the manufacturing you claim to want to do. I founded one of my companies (design for others) in ‘82 & the other (manufacturing products of our own design) in ‘01. The products company became so successful (and fun!) that we just do our own stuff now. Yes I had to borrow money, yes I paid it back and all profits went into people (training), equipment, more designs we own, and, uh, toys. On the more personal side, my wife and I funded our daughter’s educations so that would be”degreed without debt”. You will have to make that decision someday. So on that “how the world works”, drop the pontification on your theorem of the moment and do what you know. Use your considerable talent and get serious about manufacturing your own product(s). Nothing means sh_t if you don’t earn it.
If they were attacking worthless stuff they wouldn’t be noticed. Throwing tomato sauce over chips, not news worthy. Throwing paint over a dilapidated fence, not news worthy. Throwing weed killer over an unkempt garden, not news worthy. I don’t agree with them, but I understand that high value targets are more news worthy.
Russia. Hands down. 100%. Russia. I have a friend there so I've learned way more about that country than the NATO media will ever tell you. Russia is a very self sufficient country. They're making their own cars, bikes, and airplanes. They're making their own clothing, food, electronics, wood screws, toasters, and everything else. My friend drives a Russian made motorcycle. His wife just started a company making camping gear. People there do stuff and make stuff and invest in stuff. They care about inventing and making their country better. Why? Because they've all seen what happens when you let socialist, fascist, blue haired ideology be in charge; and they have the body count to prove it. They don't want to ever see that again, so they care. Why do Americans think Russia is evil? Because your phones tell you to, nothing more.

Yep, Suzuki and Honda had some great little high MPG cars but the market (at the time) didn't get too excited about them.
Heyyyy man. superLongtime no see. ITs the " carviking from Norway "...talked to you many moons ago when you first started out"ish on youtube. I have been checkin out your videos on and off..but not left any comments for a long time. Sorry for that. But eitherway,,i just wanted to say that i was sooooooo happy seeing you uploading another video. And the content of it was really enjoyable. And i love the message, passion and everything you bring across in this video, and your previous videos for that matter :) So thats all for now :) ME on the other hand,i have not uploaded any videos for over a year...i just fell out of the whole ordeal with coming up with content for my narrow spectre of content. But hey...its all about putting out videos when we have something to bring to the people. So...again...thanx for great video, man. Also hope you and family are doing great :) Greetings from theCarViking in Norway,Stefan
Hey Casey, if manufacture infrastructure and volcanic rock like Basalt is what you’re looking for; Utah is certainly an option.
-International Hub Airport
-I15 and I80
-railroads
-racetracks for testing
-Bonneville Salt Flats
-“thinner” air to test turbo and engine efficiency
-huge steel and aluminum foundries
-giant fabrication capabilities
And on and on
-masterful engine builders with that old school knowledge
A bunch of benefits
-sadly no water based transport
But there is absolute TRUCKLOADS of money in Utah. There are even a couple billionaires.
Just an idea cause I’d love to see the Omega Car!
Great ideal! I’d be down with Utah.
ThankQ/5:5
Thank you, your comment genuinely means a great deal to me. Stick around. I’ve got plans. ;)
Godspeed.
Good call!
Ashland County Ohio - Solid conservative and the county is doing a lot to help business.
Edison Motors is a company that aligns with the design principles of the Omega. Their craftsmanship would look good in the car, but them being on such a small scale means that lower price larger scale production is out of the question
You have a path, but will you take it?
You started with...
- Social media is not it (though it ranges from BS to inspirational and informative)
- Time to create, build, and be part of industry
- We can only control what we can control
So, as some others have suggested, refine your Omega design and do it as a kit.
Love you Casey! Glad to see you again :)
yeah me too I love Casey
Boutique watches, very cool!!!
I hope you get the funding you need. I would love to look out my window and see omega cars driving by.
Boom, nice outro! Great vid. Thank you!
Thanks!
I took German in college around 1990. Immigration, particularly from Middle East countries, into Europe was a “concern” back then as far as affecting the German culture.
I had a German Green Card worker in my manufacturing company for 10 years or so and she was really smart and told me all the time they worried about what was happening to their country.
@ if I recall, this was pointed out in our textbooks.
I liked old Casey. I like new Casey more. Good to see a new video.
This is awesome!
thank you big jon.
Nice seeing you doing great Casey and you are still unfiltered and real which I needed this video is amazing and shows that you still have a passion on working on stuff and to hear there's barely any support for ventures like your Omega Car is disappointing but is predictable as the current big players don't want any more competitors and other reasons, but you are still pushing through all of this my suggestion is to unfortunately go outside the US to seek investment as there's almost no one who will invest in US but IDK maybe something will change and things will happen we will see and lastly your watch business I'm really looking forward to it
Next time you’re at the beach build a sandcastle! I teach that here on south padre island Texas. Great for family photos!
Glad you're still out there, Casey.
You can write me through the Putsch Racing website. Much appreciated. Assembling test watches now!
You could start with a bunch of tents like Edison Motors. They have similar concerns and are building hybrid Semis I think y'all have a lot in common.
Im really interested in diesel engines because it seems like you can make them run on any oil but modern diesel engines today are less reliable because of added emissions equipment. There has to be a better way of controlling emissions.
If there was the car manufacturers would use it.
I miss your rants and philosophy. Loved the Golden Shovel.
oh yeah I forgot the name 😄and just called it casey's golden shower.
So you watch a few Wristwatch Revival videos and now you are going to manufacture boutique watches in your basement. That sounds like a solid business plan, cant wait to see what you buy next for your exotic/vintage car collection with the proceeds.
:) standby
Panama might need some manufacturing, soon.
Bluey stickers on the laptop. You have my attention. 🤣👍
The garage is looking good 😍

Is it possible for 30 year old to get in what your doing in Canada and how , if you give me some tips I would really appreciate it plus since I don’t know where to start or how good is the tuning and performance career is , I am going for heavy equipment mechanic .

Casey, Please don't even consider Hawaii. I have lived all over the country and have lived the last decade + in Hawaii. Hawaii is beautiful but it is the worst place to manufacture anything,
1) Hawaii is the most leftist and most repressive state in the country.
SMH
4) Most Hawaiians need real jobs but do not want them.
Well said
Emailed a potential location idea within a TN county.
Thanks big, from a fellow car enthusiast.
an amazing video speaking the truth!!!
Toledo, my deceased wife’s home town. Wish they could get some more good jobs there.
They could….
You are exactly at the right place and time;)
North Carolina has the largest native population east of the Mississippi.

Its a rolling coffin and producing this vehicle is such a bad business idea. He is charlatan.
Over regulation is the death of everything.
@@FUNKOfilms Lack of regulation particularly in regards to safety would arguably be the death of *everyone*.
@@mrreet2001 And thanks to this nanny mentality, cars are now absurdly heavy, overly complicated, difficult to fix, and horribly overpriced.
I took German in college around 1990. Immigration, particularly from Middle East countries, into Europe was a “concern” back then.
The Hawaii Idea is good the only con I can see is the shipping cost before and after production.
When you decide to build your car come to Conway Arkansas. Lots of people moving here. The local government works well with new businesses...
I can't remember if you said how heavy the omega car is
great ending
Transportation costs will kill by outsourcing across of each side of America.
The death of the ice engine is greatly exaggerated, and I believe the Tesla model three with full Self driving is the greatest car ever made.
Tbf all you did was remake a worse VW XL1 and only produce one kit car example.
Mine is affordable and faster. Check. Your move.
Maybe
People want something to invest in, but with little/no time and risk. Thats not how things get done.
We need omega car, and also mega pint!
We are not interchangeable economic units.
😂 no way any of us could be "that guy". 🤔😯🥺
We all have to work for others, whether it be a boss or our clients/customers.
More odd, would be somewhere in Iowa to build cars. Matt Rife could be the spokesperson... LOL
5 days left🗽
Idk, I think if a tribe was willing to have a vehicle manufacturing plant built on their reservation, that would be pretty cool. Unfortunately, the reservations usually attract businesses that are trying to escape some sort of regulation, i.e. gambling, which doesn't really bring a good reputation with it. But an actual industry, producing an actually good product, that justifiably prioritizes hiring Native Americans instead of effectively as a pity hire... that's really not an evil thing - they deserve the opportunity to grow too and not be regarded like a museum exhibit.
cars in Hawaii don't make send to me. where you gonna drive? Cost to ship them to mainland US?
You should make it run on 2nd gen ethanol
Do you think there is a place for an omega truck?
P.S I learned how to drive a stick thanks to your videos.
Please stop talking so much damn sense, they really hate it when you do that. Also really enjoy the videos, best wishes from the UK.
agreed.
You know literally nothing of what I have been doing.
@@CaseyPutsch I'm just working off of what I saw, forgive me for not reviewing your whole back catalog.
no keep watching. Casey really isn't maga. I think he just pretends to be cuz he has so many followers that are. In reality Casey lives the kind of leftwing lifestyle that kamala would applaud.
That's why he gets so angry in his vids because it conflicts with his personal views.

Love my Vanguard index funds. Too bad their management is in on the “fix” with Blackrock.
Who is John Galt?
Yes
If I had an extra billion or 2 laying around doing nothing, I'd move you to South Carolina. Sadly I'm just a poor lowly truck driver. We do have auto assembly plants here, but they're all manufactured in foreign lands and assembled here. It's quite sad what our government has done to our countries manufacturing industries through over regulations.
Pioneer Engineers are not poletions and Poletions are not Engineers.
I feel the same way your are having this Idees
Don’t see how you could sit amongst some great products done by others and not want to contribute your own.
Take your best shot!
You dont know how the world works then. All those companies were founded in the first half of the previous century….

Russia. Hands down. 100%.
