This was a great tutorial, thank you for doing it. I love DIY projects. I made a light box from PVC. A white sheet for a cover and different color fabrics for the backdrop. No glue at the joints so I could fold up and store it.
Flat white actually reflects more light than aluminum foil, I found this out while building my own LED light setup for a planted fish tank. I confirmed it with a PAR reader, almost 35% more light reflected.
@@laurenbabe2045 As long as the cardboard has no chance of burning or catching fire. Otherwise, anything non flammable spray painted flat white will work.
Thank you... Cause you give me an ideas. I just make little modification for it and yeah... I can't do it like what you do. hahahaha.... cause am not creative like you. Love so much this video and I've just subscribe for your channel after I see this video. Hahahaha makasih.
Great softbox. I need to make something it. One question I'm sure it's a silly question. How come the lights flickered? It is because you were filming in higher FPS?
The flicker is due to 2 main reasons, the LED bulb and also the iPhone I used to shoot the video. Use a good quality LED bulbs and also a good camera or phone with good camera.
you can literally just buy a set of soft boxes with tripods for less than 50euro including shipping with DHL... :P But anyway maybe its the joy of building that counts ;)
Yes you can use cardboard instead of foam board. But for the light, suggest to use LED bulbs rather then Incandescent light bulb. LED bulbs generates less heat then normal light bulbs and hence safer. Also, you won't get white lighting with light bulbs.
Nice idea, but you probably used a LED light which makes it difficult to use with video because of 50Hz of the electricity making the light turn on and off 50 times every second. In video you will see this very clearly.
That's super cool, money saving. Thanks for that but..ain't the light going to let the foil and plastic bag heat up? Is there is any chances it can cause a fire? I live with my family dude😂 Good job though
LED bulbs do not produce very much heat at these wattage levels, thus virtually eliminating this particular hazard. Regardless, it is good practice to never leave stage or set lighting on and walk away leaving your rig/set-up unattended just in case their IS a malfunction or mishap. Ya? Cheers!
Painting the inside matte white will give a softer light. If using foil, scrunch it up to make lots of wrinkles and then flatten it before gluing.
Thanks for the suggestion!!!

So should you just use white cardboard instead

Cool idea and easy too. I shared this on my Facebook group page! I hope it helps you and many others!
Thanks for your comment and sharing the video. Much appreciated.
Little tip - I crinkled up my silver foil before gluing it down to further disperse the light being reflected by it.

@@TheGeekyRicky , it isn't due-to quality LED. You need to use LED that work with direct current . P.S sorry for my english.

I dont want this problem if I build this.

How long are the while cardboard pieces ? You didn’t add that 😭
Do you mean the cardboard rolls? They are normal kitchen tissue paper rolls which you can get any convenience store.

May i know all the materials that u you use in this Softbox
Foamboard or cardboard, aluminium foil, LED Bulb, bulb holder, electrical wires, 2 pin socket, hot glue gun and glue. And that's all I used.
Wow amazing
How did you make the other types of stands? Also is it safe to make it taller?
Yes, you can make the stand taller, just make sure you make the base wider and stronger
You finally released my stress bro thank you
Thank you
hola sería interesante saber los materiales que usaste y el esquema. que hiciste para construirlo
Great idea
Is this good for youtubers studio ?? like I usually see this only on a photo shoot studio .
Thanks a lot, I had same issues like flashing in your videos when shooting on the phone, so u have solutions?
Flashing is bcoz of my iphone camera. I used it with my OnePlus6 and there is no flicker or flashing.
Shoot at a lower fps setting
Best idea
Very genius ‼️
Good Job, am starting my own Chanel , ineeeeeed this

Yes, completely agree. I should have used a different LED bulb.
What type of light should be used instead?
