I have a pure white one with grey feet 6 weeks old the mystery chick from murray McMurray. I'm not sure what the sex is yet, hopefully it's a pullet... its comb looks pretty much the same as the 2 brown pullets I got in my order...Thank you for sharing your information and beautiful birds.
What sound/call does the Ameraucana hen make? We have just one of these birds, given to us by someone who has left the area. She appears healthy apart from having no feathers on her neck, which has red but healthy looking skin. Almost every day she starts up a long drawn -out call that sounds as though she is in distress, going on for five or six minutes before stopping and getting on with her day with our other hens. Could this be the normal type of call these Ameraucanas make?

I'm curious, if anyone knows. I purchased 3 Americauna chicks, but they are yellow still at two weeks. Will they turn white, or did someone make an error. They are so sweet and gentle!
Love the rooster. He might not be show quality, but he sure takes charge of his hens.

Great video! I do have one question though, we are planning on getting a full grown one, that we are not going to raise. Do you think that it will still be docile enough to be a pet?
If it is already docile yes, if it is not you just have to work with it and befriend it.
Can amerauana chicken hack eggs
I have 2 Ameraucana chickens (I think?).. at least I was told they are Ameraucana chickens by the farm that sold them to us. However, one looks like a Easter Egger. Wondering how to tell the difference?...
Easter Eggers have yellow legs. Ameraucanas have slate colored legs. Hope this helps

Do they go broody?
They sometimes go broody, but they are not known for their broodiness.
I prefer Ameraucana over the araucana. Chickens are supposed to have tails. It's important for their balance and their body language.
And it just looks better.
Do you sell hatching eggs of this breed?
We are unfortunately not in a position to sell at the moment. Right now we focus mostly on producing information.

The only thing I can do is suggest to find a local breeder, near wherever you live, that will sell you eggs.
