When did Chrysler build a Roadrunner??? They were built by Plymouth, NOT Chrysler. It's like calling a 300C a Plymouth!! THAT is a Chrysler. So was the Imperial.
I know, that's like the old sitcom "Married with Children" where they kept calling Al Bundy's Plymouth Duster a DODGE. Although the Dodge Dart shared the same body, the grills and taillights are definitely and distinctly different from each other. When they would show the Duster's grill, it was a 72 Duster, not Dart grill. Even the hood on a 72 Duster was different than the 73-76 models, and the 72 Dart was a notchback body called "Dart Swinger". I used to be a huge fan of the A bodies, and had 7 Dusters and a Dart Swinger as a young man.
Well, Chrysler had a division called Plymouth. So everything underneath the Chrysler Banner was commissioned by Chrysler ultimately. So technically it is a Chrysler product by way of aversion, and under thier sub species
Just think of what that 55 could have done with "2 legs", and a proper suspension. Once the 55 hooked up, the Roadrunner looked like it was sitting on jacks.

Plymouth. My dad had a '68 Roadrunner. Bought it new. He also had a '55 Chevy 4 door. I had a 2001 Mustang GT.
I had a 1962 Western Flyer with fat white wall tires and a 1 speed. I could get it up to 5 mph in a quarter of an hour. What a great ride.
