It looks like you are missing a black foam piece in the box? It is in the lid and keeps all the parts it the right compartment, even if you rattle the box.
The ability to turn the camera on and off without removing the end cap sounds like a big upgrade compared to the WaterWolf but of course it should not be possible to turn the camera on by mistake. On the WaterWolf you had to use a tool to get the end cap off as well and I'm a little disappointed they didn't fix that on the Westin camera. Hopefully they'll make a replacement end cap with better grip available.
Got my camera today and there is definitely things they could have made smarter. The end cap should be easier to open without a tool - however I do find it reasonably easy (with warm and dry hands in my living room). The Y-fin will break at some point if you put it on and take it off too many times. The hole in the Y-fin is too small for bigger swivels used for big game fishing (but fine for 99% of what I need). When the dive lip is attached it's even harder to open the camera as it gets in the way and you can't use the tool when it is attached. Ideally you should be able to connect to the camera through wifi or bluetooth but I'm sure this would make the camera more expensive and cost battery life. Tips: If you pull the tube to the front of the camera (away from the end cap) it is easier to get the cap off :) Also there is a text document on the SD-card where you can change three setting; FPS 30 or 60, EIS on or off, White balance auto, green or blue.
THANKS for the video QUESTION Are the cameras Wifi. To be able to watch live on a mobile phone while the camera is in the water. Water wolf ? WESTIN ESCAPE ? I am waiting for your answer and soon another camera will come to my hobby. Happy Catching.
Do you reckon it would work well for bait fishing on the bottom?. Even though the design does seem off putting. Be very valuable information to see how the fish react to baits
Yes I’m sure it’ll work as long as you don’t fish too deep and on a good clear bottom.Just remove the fin and it should sit flat on the bottom. Would work great for float fishing too .
I bought two of these cameras. One failed after one trip. The diving lips fell off both cameras. Customer service must be chased round for answers. And Westin remove any negative comments on their own videos. And yes the grip could be better and the extra gripper thing is hard to use with the lip attached anyway
@@NorbertRenaud It is really annoying. And it boils my blood when they just remove comments without replying. Now, after near two weeks æ,I was contacted by the sales manager of Norway, let's see if he manages to sort me a new camera and some diving lips...
I already had two of those camera and on both of them the end cap does not turn on the button inside after twisting the cap. So I returned them both. Very disappointing because I really liked the stabilizing feature und the leight weight.
When you get it to start recording and start fishing, are you constantly checking it to make sure it hasn't ran out of batteries? How long does the battery last?
When you start recording le led will flash and let you know it is recording. The colour of the led will change with the battery status. Battery is supposed to run 2.5hours of recording. But it does charge fast on the water with a battery bank .

@michaeltroest1 As asked in the comment you hid from your own videos, where can I get spare parts?

Yes that would definitely be a nice upgrade 👌

Hey, no wifi on any of those camera
If you use a little silicone grese on the o-ring of the end cap, it will turn very easily and you will not need the tool to operate it.

Could you 3d print a new lens cap?
I’m sure you could , but in no good at 3D printing.. just wish they make things simple and user friendly from the start .
Unnecessary negative review. Focussed mainly on the packaging? Just bought one and no idea how you opened the case upside down to lose the parts 🙄
Just saying what I think, and the video is not all negative.
