I would like to thank all the people involved in bringing this adventure to us. You folks have really dedicated allot of time and effort and its appreciated by all who watched this. Back in the late 90s i worked all around Florida and southern Alabama. On my days off I kayaked on rivers lakes, swamps and even in the ocean. I saw alligators on most of my outings but never had any issues. I always kept my distance and tried not to attract their attention. I was a bit nervous the first couple outings but soon relaxed after learing about these beautiful creatures. I never let my guard down of course. Thanks again to you Ken the guide and all involved.

    Well done Paddle TV.
I live in Fl and visit places like this as often as I can.
It took some time to develop a level of comfort about these
beautiful creatures. I watch from a distance and marvel at
how they have evolved to be at home in swamps.
Now its time you went to the Everglades....the gators are bigger.
...and there are American Crocodiles as well.
Myakka River near Sarasota Fl is THE place for large gators.
You will see dozens of alligators that are more than 12ft.

oh man that makes me need a swamp trip right there!!! one of my favorite gator experiences was when Will Richardson and Jim Sammons joined me for Jims show down there. A MONSTER gator climbed over a sharp cypress knee beside us and the point of that knee loudly popped on every belly scale along that gator all the way to the tail. it was like the biggest thumbnail on the biggest comb you ever heard in your life! so glad you enjoyed your adventure to the Okefenokee, if you ever head back that way please holler at me, i'd love to come fish and photo with y'all!

Sometimes one really appreciates having a hardshell kayak. Great series, thanks for having us along!

"Your gonna need a bigger boat". Oh wait, that might be more towards my way on Cape Cod.
But all you really need is a small aerosol can of "Gator Off" spray repellent. LOL.
No worries out there. Gators say "people taste just like chicken".

Great show guys. For those freaked out over the gators, I have swam in many of those areas without issue. More people are killed by oysters than gators. This ecosystem is spectacular and worth the visit.

Wow!! Amazing being so close to those amazing large alligators! As an Australian, I think I would be quite freaked out as in Australia we have crocodiles and they are super dangerous & there's no way I would kayak where they live! But you guys are so lucky to get to paddle close to such beautiful reptiles and appreciate their stunning environment.

our only crocs are down in the glades and they are nothing compared to yours aggression wise! it is definitely awesome to paddle with gators, especially in early summer when they are bellowing. it will literally resonate in your kayak when that is happening!

I will be doing an overnight trip in May. Do you think you would have felt uncomfortable with the gators if you were on the isle switch?

Do the alligators ever attack people? What happens if you somehow got knocked over and ended up in the water with a 16 foot gator? I swam in a cypress river area once on the east coast during a kayak trip and we only saw little 4 foot gators, so I wasn't too concerned. (I used to play with huge snapping turtles.) My daughter thought the gators would attack me. I was more concerned with 2000 lb manatees.

Just leave them alone and they will never attack. Unlike crocs, gators are mostly scared of people.

I’ve never heard of anyone getting attacked. I remember a lady lost her arm by wekiva island but she got out of her yak and was hanging out in the water. I’ve seen a bunch of gators never once had a problem myself.
