Alright guys, so this one took awhile. I know I am behind but I am trying to do my very best with each and every one of these diss tracks. I don't care about "gaming" the algorithm, I just want the best job that I can. Kendricks Euphoria track has a lot of depth and a lot of cultural references in it. The overall theme and premise of the record itself was entirely missed. I hope you enjoy this!!!!!!

Agreed.
I was coming to say the same thing 👌🏾.
Sure but i think he over thought a lot of lines like "you got shit twisted" isn't that deep. Anyone black has heard that phrase plenty of times it was a simple double entendre to roast Drakes hair.

@@kenshn22828he had a few cultural misses but he was very respectful and unbiased.
You missed a really sneaky part about shooting the drake line.
Firstly a drako has a LOT of kickback because it’s a shortened AK-47, so the recoil forces you to aim down to adjust for hitting your target accurately. It’s a triple entendre.
Insignificant
I know Kendrick's English Literature prof somewhere feet in the air just smiling and kicking away. That interview that was supposed to be a joke shook me man. Everyone laughing to this old ass dude saying he keeps the writings of this dude since it is top tier prose but doesn't like loud noises being taken as a joke, but this dude just looking ELATED just reading away. If you happen to know a English lit professor, slide em some lyrics and don't tell em who or what originally, it's literal cat nip. 💀
He really did good but missed a lot of stuff
I had been thinking that the line about the Drac' was about how low Kendrick was willing to go. As in, Drake will go low (by bringing up Kendrick's wife), so Kendrick needs to go lower (meet the Grahams).
@@macdre2412can’t blame him alot of the disses was meant to go over drakes head Fr, many people won’t get certain jabs
The degenerate line could also link to a popular interview with Soulja Boy on the breakfast club. Soulja said "y'all talking about the lightskin dude from degenerate?" It was hilarious. He meant Degrassi 😂

Kendrick isn’t sayin “Joel Osteen” he’s saying “Joel Hale Osteen” as a way to mix up “Joel Osteen” and “Haley Joel Osment”
Said the same thing. Joel Osteen is also a megapastor with an occult following but has proven to be a fake (like drake). Ex: during the devastating floods in TX ppl were driven out there homes and went to his church for refuge and he turned them away. It made national news and he got so much backlash that he let ppl in.

Absolutely. This is fantastic content.
Come on now 100% impressive at this point.
It's exactly the style a literary analysis
I just realized another double entendre: “once a lame always a lame.” The word lame obviously means wack, but it also means someone who is unable to walk like many people in ♿️. Kendrick was referencing Wheelchair Jimmy and Drake basically always being that guy from that era of his career, always being the actor Aubrey Graham just playing Drake the role of his lifetime.
Whoa that’s good
43:03 I think with the Gunna line he meant that he himself, Kendrick, had a ton more dirt on Drake that would make Gunna look like he didn’t have much when he snitched
My favorite part about the “habitual liar” line is that it can also be heard as him laughing, “HA, bitch you a liar”
Yep that was actually what I thought the line was when I first heard it lol

@@cold485Facts 😂😂
@@cold485it doesn’t matter what he said. All the things we say about drake being a culture vulture and a liar are true about Kendrick as well. He’s never been to jail, never had it hard and never done much besides wonder if he’s gay. As far as I’m concerned they are both corny and middle white america is just laughing at the circus. Good take tho bud.
I think he understood mother I sober. In that song kendrick goes out in nature, even the "spirit tree" asks him "did he touch you? i said no, it didn't believe me" - so it's deeper than rap. Drake still got buried tho
@@cold485if y’all actually paid attention to that song, it’s about Kendrick constantly battling the trauma he got from getting accused of being molested due to his moms own trauma
Drake didn’t misinterpret the song. He used Kendrick’s own trauma against him to not only be disrespectful since it’s a diss battle, but show why Kendrick is repeating the same cycle as his mom by projecting into drake. The same way she did to him.
Yo the other thing you missed with the "he don't like women" line is not that he is saying that he is gay, but that he doesn't like women in a valuable way, as in he doesn't treat women in a way worthy of their sacred value.
THISS !!! 🖤

The drac line is deeper than surface level.. he’s implying that he’s taken indirect shots at drake b4 but this time he will make it direct and won’t miss. He does this by comparing it to shooting a draco and aiming straight as if they on the same level only
To realize that the kickback on some automatics is so strong that the gun pulls up and the shots go over your targets head. So this time he aims lower to ensure he hits his target.
Thank you! I was like ahh he missed this one!😂
Yeah that's something I've seen way too many people miss.

Same man this guys breakdowns are insane
Also, i like how after …spare ya this time, “thats random acts of kindness”
Kendrick goes on throughout the rest of the track, playing a little game within the song, where he gives Drake subtle compliments. “Back to back, I like that record. I like Drake with the melodies. I pray they my real friends.” Random acts of kindness lol
Kendrick also warned Drake on 6:16 LA not to take the personal path and keep it friendly but drake has already decided to play it dirty
That's an aspect so many people overlook. As hard as Kendrick went on Drake, there's two things he never did to him: He never said Drake didn't have talent and he never underestimated Drake. Even if he doesn't really SEE him as a worthy opponent, he still treated him as one.
@@TheGhostofAbigailMills “Still love when you see success” 🥂
"There's 3 GOATs left, and I see 2 of em hugging and kissing on stage." I agree, as harsh as this record is, Kendrick took shots at Drake and Cole while still giving them props and, in fact, subtly acknowledging that they are the Big 3. I haven't seen anybody catch and comment on what's happening in this line. Drake probably should have toned it down a bit after this song, but he turned it up and got shot out of the sky. Kendrick actually confirms himself, Cole, and Drake as the Big 3, and Drake not catching it to save himself some heartache is WILD. This line also shows that Kendrick was just shooting friendly fire on "Like That" with mothaf*** the Big 3, cause he was willing to come full circle and seemingly contradict himself, unless Cole or Drake felt triggered and wanted to come after him, which Drake took the bait for and jumped all in.
My duuude take as much time as you need i've been checking youtube since the beef so I can watch your breakdown I'm obssessed! take as much time as you need we are here for it
First video I’ve seen by you, great job dude the depth you went into was crazy, definitely earned a like and sub, keep up the good work brother
Yo, for all those that don’t know dirt is the best in the game when it comes to breakdowns!!!! I am a 50 year African-American from Chicago. I’ve seen absolutely every beef in the game. it is absolutely whack that this video got flagged, but it is the best by far breakdown. PERIOD
Yo, thats so sick. I wonder how long ago you got into hip-hop and what artist or song got you into liking the genre
Thanks for asking, bro. I go way back born in 73 so KRS-One Big Daddy Kane Kool G Rap!!!! my favorites are Black Thought Nas Roc Marciano
I’m even older, a former resident of South Central, & hv formally studied hip hop poetry. D. isn’t ever really covered in these study programs.
Kendrick is genius. Full stop 🛑. He sometimes works in tropes I’m uncomfortable with; but NOT the point. He, & previously (& possibly again) Eminem-the greatest poets of modern street life/history, imo, as far as MEN go. Early, O.G. hip hop women are my deepest heroes… Sick beyond words of shitty men. Predatory men. 🚫🚫🚫🚫🛑🛑🛑💩💩💩⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Y’all get in BED w/ the devils-gonna ALWAYS lose. Always.
Sending blessings at you and your home bro 👊
You were so thorough and I loved you acknowledging Kendrick doesn’t care about drakes skin color. It’s about culture and people wearing it like a mask
I had to Subscribe
Ironic how Kendrick complained and cried about cancel culture on Mr. Morale and now he’s trying to use cancel culture now that it’s convenient to hate on drake
The only one wearing a mask is Kendrick’s fake black messiah act. Imagine acting like a voice for the people then using that influence to tear another black man down just because he doesn’t like him. Drake has always been apart of the culture since he was with his dad in Memphis as a kid. Lil wayne signed him. He’s made constant classic songs that the whole community played for over a decade. He’s helped out tons and tons of black artists boost their careers when he didn’t have to. He’s never once denied his culture.
Kendrick is really the biggest hypocrite and manipulator 💀
@@leultrainstinct406 both r liars imo.
YES!
@@leultrainstinct406 Kendrick been called out Drake since 2013 before it was popular to go against Drake
WTF I just watched Kill Bill 2, crazy ass coincidence. good shit bro.
And this is why Kendrick Lamar has a Pulitzer prize 🏆. This breakdown is truly outstanding.
I've been saying that since Euphoria 🤗 Artist 🎨 trying to BATTLE a Pulitzer Prize WINNER 🏆
Agree!
This is one of VERY few people who can say he predicted something and we’ll actually believe it based on his proven track record. Thank you for all the hard work
Dude this was FANTASTIC well worth the wait
Thanks
Dope track analysis 🙌🏿. Thank you for your patience and diligence. Truly awesome 👏🏿
Don't ever in your life apologize for taking long on a video. This man is the goat rap explainer.
Really really good analysis. I also think "I hate the way that you walk, way that you talk" bars are also a nice Michael Jackson flip as well. The way you make me feel: "I like the groove of your walk, your talk, your dress"
That's the "Love" flipped to the "Hate"
This was the one I was looking for!
This is a GREAT catch I haven't seen this mentioned by anyone
I think Luda said the line "You signed to a n,who's signed to a n, to another n" first.I remember bumping to "Say It to My Face".Exodus was released May 2012 while the video of Say it to my Face was released Dec 2011.
Loved the video and it's depth. Thank you for your hard work man. Keep it up
This video being demonetized is CRAZY TO ME. You did a great job on the break down.
Must be drakes people doing that
You don’t go against an industry plant 😂😂
No it's just because you can't really just say stuff like this about he likes minors and all that and not get you know demonetized the only good thing about demonetization though is I can't cut someone's head off on a video I can't put someone under the guillotine anymore I'm so sad@@isaacdebeila8085
@@Hahahotdogsir IF I was a plant I'd wanna be a rubber plant, not a ficus. Rubber plants look way cooler.
When Kendrick says drake doesn’t have a classic. He’s referring to drakes best work was actually other artists work “ghostwriters”… Kendrick says he likes the back to back track because it was written by Daylyt. Daylyt is in the TDE camp
Facts
That’s a lie. Y’all pulled that lie out you a**
For yall to act like drakes pen isn’t proper is crazy. Y’all are so wack
That's been debunked by Daylyt himself.
@@benh9935what do you mean by debunked, could you elaborate further?
@@zeminem35He's said and tweeted that he didn't write it. But people think he's saying that cause he signed an NDA.
Really enjoyed your POV subscribed because I like the layers you were able to peel away
This was a dope breakdown. It’s obvious you put in work to make this video. Keep doing ya thing.
What you and a lot of analysts of this beef missed about why Kendrick choosing the Teddy Pendergrass sample: He was signaling black culture. This is a beloved song and artist in the culture. Any time this song comes on, most Black Americans have a visceral reaction to this song, because it's one we grew up hearing at family barbeques and cookouts. Our parents listened to this song in the house on heavy repeat. It's woven into the fabrics of black culture. This song is a cultural cache piece. As soon as I heard that sample it let me know he was having a conversation with US. The same US he was talking to at the end of his diss tracks in the Not Like Us Song. This was Kendrick leaning into his whole point of Drake being an colonizer and outsider. Kendrick was essentially reminding Drake that he could tap into something he doesn't have: cultural cache.
BINGO
Ross basically said this explicitly in his instagram story. To be clear though, there's little chance Drake didn't grow up listening to Teddy Pendergrass but it still helps Kendrick make his point.
Cool point
Also had a joint album with Al Green (who’s also sampled) called Back To Back Records - alluding to the eventual back to back drop Kendrick did
@@benh9935you missed rhe point
As a Blk person, I really appreciate the way you addressed the N-word portion. Many of us were not raised to use it & when we do, you can tell that it’s unnatural & something that is used as a form of cultural acceptance. The N word is part of Blk culture, but if you’re not raised to use it, it’s always gonna seem unnatural. This is part of the cultural currency that Drake just does not have. I am glad Kendrick brought it up & the way you addressed it. Amazing video!
Half of drakes childhood was spent with his black father in the heart of Memphis. He’s always been part of the culture. Kendrick trying to control peoples opinions and cancel it from that just cuz he hates him is the corniest thing I’ve ever seen.
As a ginger dork I was raised not to. My equally dork sister had to educate my Kenyan brother in law on why it is NOT ok. She said he thought it was just hip-hop. Hey Memphis guy above can you post any proof? Half his life? What age homie? @leultracringestink?
@@leultrainstinct406 okay but see there’s two different stories floating around like sometimes Drake says “oh my dads from Memphis and I was there a lot which is how I got into rap” and then he switched the narrative and says that his dad wasn’t in his life for real. So like… which is it? This man has a different story depending on who he’s talking to.
It’s hard to get behind a person when everything they say is inconsistent. I’m not black so I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like I know what’s up, but cmon bruh his stories don’t even match up.
Bro, you need to understand Drake only spent summers with his father. So even though he might be a black man, his culture is Jewish. That’s what he was predominantly raised in. It’s not about the color of your skin. You’re missing my son’s biracial and I don’t let him the N-word because he’s not that so it would be very disingenuous.
@@leultrainstinct406you're essentially spamming your opinion on everybody who is even remotely saying something good about Kendrick, you gotta chill bro.
We discovered your channel in March, we love your content and always wait and appreciate the in depth breakdown of the beef!
This was very thorough and informative I learned a lot thank you🙌🏾💜
The kill bill reference itself blew my mind. And that’s just the title. Didn’t even start the first sound yet. Goddamn.
Now, all UA-cam, TikTok, Instagram, etc., will pay homage to 'What's the Dirt' and absorb every nugget of information, it's truly worth it!
Worth the wait. This is a historic battle thanks for being so thorough.. I missed a big chunk of these subliminals
WTD! I needed this! Thanks so much ◡̈ keep going
Will do!
