Just a joy to see her after all these years. I'm so glad this was preserved. No one like her. She's like a big kid here, cute as can be. Sure which I could have seen her in person.
Great video. Too bad you couldnt have shown the next part. In one of the most heart wrenching performances by anyone any time, Judy sits on the edge of the stage and sings Over The RaInbow in that tragic/comic costume. She sings it as never heard before then gets up and just walks off the stage. A brilliant artist.
I loved Judy in every role she played. Such a talented lady and my inspiration during my dancing days as a young girl. This is one video I will play over and over again
This song has so grown on me. I especially love the interlude when the lights go up on the orchestra....the flutes, trombones, brass...Judy's facial expressions.....it comes together so well. Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the wrong era...
One way to look at it is that if you were born in that era you would have only seen this once or twice. Now you can watch it as many times as you like. Joy on tap.
I watched it on VHS when I was a kid and seeing the digital stuff makes it look like it was recorded yeasterday. This really makes me appreciate the restoration they did on the old film of "The Judy Show". This show deserves it.
Heartbeaking genius ! Judy quite often performed the number singlehandadly so to speak. Along with Be a clown number those were thr manifest epitome of Judys state of mind during her last years... Thats why i can barely resists myself from crying watching the brilliant Artists not having been taken care of appropriayelly back in her time. I wish i could have been out there with Her
Think about it. From what was written about the behind the scenes drama of that show. Poor Judy probability just barely made it out there, with no rehearsal, and then gives this incredibility, unbelievable performance.
As far as I am concerned, Hollywood became truly great in 1939 when this little lady performed her magic in what has become the most watched film in screen history. Why was The Wizard Of Oz that great? Judy Garland.
Gorgeous - and remarkably good picture quality too. This looks like what in the UK was called a tele-recording, that is a special film camera shooting a TV monitor. If the edges were cropped a little it would make this even better.

Thank you so much for posting this magical number! Love me some Judy.
More talent in her little finger than most performers have in a life time!!
What talent and what a performance. Rest in peace until we meet again Dear Judy.lots of love and gratitude for your years of hard work.Fiona

Awe! How can you NOT love her! :D

She had such an incredible voice. Rest In Peace Judy ♥
I love her performance absolutely! I love her, Judy is the best ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌
An outstanding version! Merci beaucoup from Paris France 60 years later! Emmanuel
Ms. Entertainment. The greatest! The last of a kind. A real performer. She sang, danced and acted the hell out this song.
I love Judy even more after seeing this.
her voice is so effortless
She was so adorable:')
Still the best American show artist! (boundless energy.)

I love how she did this, really shows off the talents
sheer genius
Incomparable.

Do tell! Love her to bits!
I think her mature voice here is much better suited for the song than in Easter Parade. It needs that boisterous pow-wow punch she displays here.
very funny video.

This is what a movie star looks and sounds like
Wonderful , but I kept looking for Fred !
Such a tortured, talented woman.
She was fantastic, so talented and attractive on stage, her performances draw me to her..

泣けるよ、ジュディ。😢
Although I do appreciate the Kinetescope look too.
Her voice is so much deeper than in the movie.
This is from an episode of the Judy Garland Show. This is videotape not kinescope. If you watch the DVDs the video quality is far superb than this.
@newsguy44
I give it 11, at least.
That's entertainment.
As good as the movie
I'd need to see the original before the cleanup I suppose. Can you post it? If I see it, I can give you a def. answer.
Are you sure this is kinescope? It looks like videotape-- the border of the screen gives it away.
82, I do not agree with you. If Judy needed a bigger voice near the end of a Couple of Swells in Easter Parade, she had it.
weird for her to sing this song solo
