employee should not pay any amount , h1b should be solely bear by employer only. Unless you trying any other means, Not sure if they can provide, but the only way you can be sure by directly going though USCIS website by asking credentials from them. Others ways: they can Photoshop USCIS selection email,even they can give random application number ,not sure if you trust that. One more time, Employee should not bear the cost of H1B it's the duty of employer

Look for different employer who is willing to sponsor for H1b transfer. Bear in mind that USA IT market is not doing great, lots of lay offs, keep that in mind as well All the best.

If your lottery has been picked up via USA master quota then I think it's a loss, I hate to say there could be an issue, 20k Visa's are set aside for students did there master/higher studies from USA. I think USCIS generate and allot separate application number for those kind of reserved candidates. Moreover contact your attorney they would give you the best advice. They may even want to proceed with your application. Who knows.

Well, it is a pure trust game. If you interviewed and got offer from a real company, you may trust, but again, everything is subjective.
