- Exploring Ontario's Waterfalls Episode #5: Indian Falls Waterfall, Owen Sound Ontario
The main natural feature of Indian Falls is the horseshoe shaped waterfall, named after the Newash Indian tribe who lived in this area at one time.
See the photo gallery:
freaktography....
The 15 metre high waterfall was formed by the erosion of soft Queenston shale beneath hard Manitoulin dolomite, in a manner similar to Niagara Falls.
Indian Falls can dry up to a trickle during summer months and at other times of the year when the creek has a decent flow, this is easily one of the prettiest waterfalls in the province.
A classic plunge waterfall, with a wide "amphitheatre" style gorge and a vertical drop of about 14-15 m.
Rated 4.5 out of 5 on Trip Advisor, Indian Falls is a must see location for waterfall enthusiasts and photographers alike. For those who may have mobility issues, you may find the hike to the upper falls viewing area challenging.
For those who enjoy a challenge, the hike into the lower falls can be harsh at times, it is highly recommended that you come prepared with good sturdy footwear.
Once you reach the lower falls you will find yourself surrounded by spectacular views and experience that will make you want to raise your hands in the air…..like this guy!

Sorry to burst your bubble, However! Indian Falls, as well as Inglis Falls and Jones Falls are NOT, I repeat, NOT, in Owen Sound Ontario. They are in fact, all located in the township of Georgian Bluffs, ON. Whole different and separate part of Grey County, Just outside of the TOWN, (population approximately 21,000) of Owen Sound. I do agree however, that all three falls are unique and beautiful in their own ways.
We don't have waterfalls in Jacksonville Florida 3 miles from the beach
Ok...the sign lied to you...it was NOT an easy trail! My wheelchair would never had made it! Thank you for allowing me to see this beautiful, calming waterfall! It is magnificent!!! Thank you sooo very much for taking me with you on your adventures! Love from AZ US❤️

Great water sound. I bet it sounds different in person, than something recorded. Like more Natural. Seems like it works even, as a background Soundtrack. Looks good too. Great work.
