I think you are a little harsh on yourself in the video description, this is already a very good version of the track! Just like the Super Castlevania song you remastered recently, you can always come back to this later if you still feel dissatisfied. It's good to see people working hard and improving themselves. We are all learning here :)
Wow I never thought the Genesis could even come close to the snes on this soundtrack and you actually did it really well. This would have blown my mind back in the day if a Genesis cart had music like this.
I don't know why the majority of the american genesis games have the fart sounds for the music, while the japanese and european ones has the best music the genesis could offer for this time. Treasure, Konami, Capcom, Disney, Virgin, and Sega made the best games and the best soundtrack of this platform. You made something AWESOME in this cover. "Conglaturations".

That's because the genesis american composers worked on a software for the MS-DOS called GEMS. That software is popular because of how bad it made work the sound. There are some exceptions, like Comix Zone (I think). I recommend you watch a video called "How to make Sega Genesis music in 1994" by GST channel. It is one of the videos that really made me interested on FM soundchip music.

@ I already watched that video. It's interesting. It's a shame the american composers couldn't have the same equipment as the european and japanese composers
Easily one of the best FM takes on this theme!!! Always nice to hear the DKC series music brought over to the Genesis, and you did a fantastic job with this!! Glad UA-cam recommended me this video.
Simply speechless. I love YM2612 but I also know very well the tracks he is good at and the ones he is not suited to. Or, at least, I thought to know. You definitely proved me wrong as I was considering this one to be IMPOSSIBLE for our beloved chip. Simply incredible what you pulled out. Do you also compose?
As a kid, I really underestimated the capabilities of the YM2612. In truth, it's just takes more of an expert hand to get things right. Great job on this!
You're a wizard! I'd long held that this song in particular that would be impossible to get right on the Genesis, and I say that as a huge YM2612 fanboy. This is amazing though, and you nailed it.
@ I listened over and over again, compared it over and over with the original, and I can say it came pretty close. The only suggestion I have is that you could use some sample at the very beginning of the song, to give that "symphonic" brass atmosphere.

@@flaviatatiana1953 Do you mean the one that plays in FM 5 and 6? That'd be cool. I didn't used samples mostly because I wish to improve in the making of FM. I will give it a try, for sure! Thanks for your suggestion!
Great choice of instruments,im very surprised that you got it to sound so good, the streel drums are great Well done,i would happily listen to this version Stickerbrush next ? :) please .. ¥&¥

Thanks. Stickerbush seems at least ten times more complicated than this. I should try, but it will require a lot of time. Nice suggestion tho, I will write it down.
Buen trabajo, si bien en esa época disfrute mucho más la SNES y justamente Donkey Kong country fue mi primer juego de esa generación, aprecio lo bien logrado de tu obra a pesar que en sonido se nota las diferencias del original. Felicidades Luca
Great cover:). When done right like your work here the Genesis “samples” are cleaner than the true samples used in the original SNES rendition. Like many already wrote here had work like this been around when the Genesis / MD was in its prime the console would have gotten more titles with great ambient tracks that the chips harsher tones seemed to make more difficult.
Hey dude I noticed that all your music is unlisted. Could you please put them in a playlist if you intend to keep them hidden? Your music is really good btw ❤️
what sucks about the genesis is that you don't have reverb like the snes but despite the limitation you still nailed it
3 роки тому
Thank you. Yeah, if I wanted to simulate reverb I would had to sacrifice a lot of channels. The reason I made a better job in the RE cover was because of how few instruments the original song used.
This cover is amazingly close to the original. Could you provide a .bin version too, exported straight from deflemask? I'm trying to play on a real genesis but the .vgm to .bin conversion software I'm using doesn't accurately convert the instruments + pitch
2 роки тому+1
I'm sorry, Deflemask doesn't allow to export a .BIN so, sadly, I cannot help you. Thank you, and... what software are you using to convert the file?
@ deflemask supports .rom export! That might work. I was using VGM Player v3.20, works great for existing game rip VGMs but falters on deflemask exports

The extra sound channels of the
YAMAHA ((stereo/sound)) chip
sounds phenomenal

it means , all those games with bad sound, it wasn't the hardware limitations, they simply needed High quality artists ,like this person here .
Yes, or the people that worked on Revenge of Shinobi
I never would have guessed the Genesis could have replicated this tune this well! Outstanding! Thanks for this work!
This sounds great! Never thought the Genesis/MD could pull this off! All this needs is a thumbs up from mr. YM2612 himself!
AWESOME!!!
This is amazing for a YM2612 chip. For a moment I thought I was listening to a YM2151

@ Er McValdemar if the Genesis is capable of pcm mixing then this is possible
As a kid, I really underestimated the capabilities of the YM2612. In truth, it's just takes more of an expert hand to get things right. Great job on this!

Some good old school sounds :)
My Christmas and new year gift!
This sounds really nice! Definitely a lot better than you give yourself credit for.
Thank you for follow my suggestion, infinite gratitude for this "belissimo" cover and Merry Chistmas my friend!

@ Yep, samples can make a difference when you need some reverb too. And don't worry, you've already proven yourself an excellent FM musician. Thanks!
Wow genesis almost done. Very Nice version.
Your work is beautiful
Man.... Amazing! Terrific!
Wow, thats amazing, just goes to show, what the old tech can do.

Impressive job.
This is incredible! ♥
Nice work bro
Fantastic work Luca. 👍
It's a shame that you've gone quiet with your remixes as of now.
This sounds amazing, but the comments are praising it a little too much. They need to compare it to the SNES OST.
This seems tailored for the Genesis melancholic sound.

@ The snes had a faux reverb that worked more like a delay but with the advantage of not using a second channel.

nice but sounds like a audition test
Ficou muito bom, mas a original no super nintendo é melhor.
Parabéns pelo trabalho.
Not bad, but sounds tighter, fuller and cleaner on the SNES.
Snes the best
Nope
Yup
