Not saying you don’t crush it now, but IMY2 would have crushed it in the ‘80s! (I was there 😂). Annalise, I’m betting you’re a lot of people’s new Pat Benatar crush!
Okay. So you’re taking on the woman I was in love with growing up. Yes I am that old. I worry when that happens. But you knocked it out of the park. Great job.
I like that you know how to use a 'rock' voice vs using a 'pop' voice. Some women only use the 'sultry' tone even when it makes no sense for the type of song it is.
@@Saje3D As a musician I and many others appreciate constructive criticism and compliments. As a musician nothing pisses me off more than seeing a good song slaughtered and have people pull the "artistic liberty" card as an excuse for not putting in more effort in the studio. He's right that the "feel" of this song is aggressive not sexy and he's expressing his appreciation for the singer preserving that grit where other covers on UA-cam don't making the song feel lifeless and toothless.
A lot of UA-cam covers sound like high school chorus versions ...yeah they can carry a tune, but the timbre and soul of the original is just not there. But imy2 produces these unbelievable renditions that are like a live studio session with the original artists ... But even a little sweeter. This was unbelievable! Goosebumps...
Every time you perform a singer that I just wasn't into, you make me want to hear the original song. I am never disappointed with an IMY2 cover! You're still my girl continues to be my favorite song! 💙🎹🎸🥁🎤
@@IMY2music OK. That makes sense. And I should have known that. I hope you guys get all the success you deserve. If I have anything to do with it, you will. I tell everyone about you.
Perfect..👏👏👏 I don't know how many times I watched it. It's amazing.. The voice, the movement, the facial expressions.. She sings the song better than the singer. I think I fell in love 👏😍👏
Nailed the power and precision of Pat's vocals, arguably one of the greatest trained voices of rock, and the musicality was spot on... again. Great work, all, totally mesmerizing performance!
Whoa! Me and my shipmates used to talk about Benatar all the time. I used to listen to her while rocketing down I-15 before it became a freeway on my motorcycle with my trusty YorX cassette player jammed in my ears, lol. Well done! One of the best covers to date by almost anyone.
Aweseom job on a vocal classic! I was in Jr High in 79 when this song broke huge on the radio. Made quite the impression on everyone! Saw Benatar in Seattle with Billy Squier opening in July of 81. What a great show that was!
Holy Hell! Best cover I have ever heard. I'm Canadian. Canada has a real love affair with Pat Benatar. I remember when she dominated the charts. I have several records, yes vinyl, I'm that old. Rocking in the 80's. Good good memories. Keep them coming.

This is a reasonably awesome up-tempo rock song, with an unreasonably great performance. Excellent vocals, supercrisp guitar solo and extremely tight bass. Thanks for this! I have only one question: If this is a 1978 song, why is the lavalamp off?

I’ve watched this a few times as I always do with your covers. One time is never enough 😊 Super work on this cover from the Annalise vocals to Mike and Cal on guitar and bass.

I was too, until I had the chance to meet her. Not the nicest person.
me too! but pat benetar never looked so good
Look at the version she did with Martina McBride. Martina was a dead ringer for a version on Crossroads
I hope they'll do "I Hate Myself for Loving You"
I'm 54, been playing guitfiddle and bass for 40+ years and am ABSOLUTELY impressed. Kudos!

Pat Benatar rocks! This is a great song and a perfect fit for all of you. Have you considered covering Joan Jett?
How about Bangals or Expose?
