I am 16 years old and a little less than a year ago I was diagnosed with myocarditis caused by my recently diagnosed ulcerative colitis. I haven’t worked out in a year and five days ago my doctor suggested I start exercising by walking, for example. Now I’m trying to find some moderate work out plans and I came across your video, thanks a lot!!!
@@steven21736 I had an MRI and few ultrasounds and also the troponin levels had gone through the roof. My ejection fraction after a year is only at around 55%, still low but within the normal range

Hi, thanks for recommendation. Btw, I've been suffering the HOCM (thickness of heart muscles) since my childhood but I didn't know earlier and until 2014 the Cardiologist diagnosed i'm suffering from HOCM. That's why i do exercise and kept chest pain and blackout. What type of exercise can I do? Thanks. 5:59
Hi, I am 47 and recently diagnosed with Dilated cardiomyopathy with EF 30-35 in LV systolic function. Can I know whether this is a serious issue for doing hard work like janitorial work? Please recommend me a schedule for regular exercises. Thanks
You should have a cardiac rehab team going through this and if they haven’t yet you should really try not to worry about it too much at the moment. They will probably tell you that your employer need to make allowances and you need to manage your condition based on your symptoms. They don’t however tell you how to pay your bills if you can’t manage your symptoms and keep your job. However, your EF isn’t that bad - if you live healthy you should be fine but it varies so much. Nurses tell me they don’t even concentrate on the figures as symptoms vary so much.
I’m a year younger with a very similar diagnosis and I work in construction and put on up to 25,000 steps a day on some days. Not every day though. Pace yourself and listen to your body. Pay very close attention to what your body is telling you. Get a smartwatch with health monitoring as well
Hi, I have been suffering from peripartum cardiomyopathy for 3 years. My lvef is 15 to 20 . I'm taking medications and can you share some breathing exercises to improve my lvef.
If you find it hard to do any intense exercise.. Just walk, Just walk, walk, walk keep walking..Nothing is better than walking.. It gets the blood circulating without putting too much demand on the heart.. Walk 5 miles a day, even if you feel unwell just walk at a slow pace.. You have to get that blood moving.. Sometimes being sedentary is the worst thing you can ever do..
Hi, nice informative videos. Can you make a gym workout plan for weight loss for obese people who also have cardiac issue? Something which does not include cardio and only gym equipments workout as many cardiac patients may face difficulty after intense cardio but may be not after weight lifting.
Unfortunately I don't have access very often to gym facilities where I can film, hence why most of my videos are done at home. I've done lots of workout videos on this channel which you can view here: ua-cam.com/play/PLf9i8qFtMBBK1VBEA-IlSw7VrXxrvxHUF.html Maybe one or two might help you?
HCM does not cause heart attacks. Heart attacks are due to clogged arteries. HCM is a structural issue with how your heart (either your septum, ventrical or apex) and is usually gentic or it can be exercise induced, as in elite athletes. HCM causes Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), where your heart just stops. I've had three "cardiac events" that feel just like heart attacks but they are not. Even though you can see the "cardiac event" on EKG, no heart attack hormone, Troponin, was detected. This is very common in people with HCM. Not sure about HOCM. ua-cam.com/video/9emAmwJ3vFw/v-deo.html

@@pennygirl99 There are different types of cardiomyopathys. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) and Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM) are usually genetic conditions where the thickness is greater than 17mm. You inherit it directly from one of your parents. It does not skip. If none of the children get it, that's the end of HCM/HCOM in that family line. Yes, it sounds like you have high-blood pressure induced cardiomyopahty. DO NOT PLAY WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. GET IT UNDER CONTROL ASAP--WITH DIET, EXERCISE, AND MEDICINE (IF NEEDED). There is no restriction on time, but do what you feel you can. It may be that starting with 5 to 10 minutes at a gentle pace will be a good starting point, then build up from there. It's difficult for me to provide individual tailored advice for people that I don't know.
I'm recently diagnosed with septal hypertrophy, and i'm a very active person, does cycling at zone 3 or 4 regularly, but I found that with this condition, i'm loosing the ability to do so (because of the discomfort on my chest, it usually will some what get better after 30 to 40min), in your experience, is it advisable to continue with my sport at this pace and intensity?
This is difficult for me to answer as it's an individual question, but if you're getting frequent chest pain during activity, you should seek medical advice.
I wasn't sure how to answer this but have pulled this extract from a study in May 2021: "Physical exercise has emerged in the last decade as a non-pharmacological, non-surgical and safe alternative for HCM treatment, being especially effective in improving functional capacity in patients below the threshold of 7 METs [114]. Thus, various training protocols at intensities between 50 and 80% of heart rate reserve have suggested benefit effect on the VO2max in individuals with HCM [115,116]. These results suggest the need to maintain physical exercise as part of the treatment." Hope this helps :-)

I have been suffering from HOCM for the last 8 years. I think the intense squat that I did to increase the body weight caused this

Try a gentle interval type workout such as my cardiac rehab one here: ua-cam.com/video/V1A9wv_Hw7Y/v-deo.html
