Also you’re one of the only people who are like Oh, let’s mix and match colors and play with stuff and be creative. Instead of just using one color alone. I feel like a lot of people forget that you don’t have to use a single color by itself and that’s the only option you have. The look you created with this palette is by far one of my faves!

Agreed! As a makeup artist myself, I love watching her use actual techniques of makeup artistry that we’re taught and make it her own. In essence, being able to take to create your own shades out of a palette or single shadows is something that we don’t often see “beauty gurus” do often during tutorials or reviews. Now this could be because they want to show colors in a certain way, but watching Sam & many other MUAs reminds me of why I wanted to become a makeup artist to begin with 🤩🤩🤩
I *WILL* get my hands on the Over The Top gloss this time around and I while I don’t need any more eyeshadow palettes, there are def some colors in there begging me to use them... so we’ll see what I can manage to get this time around! Awesome review, Sam!

You've def made me want the palette. I was super on the fence about whether it is worth it or not but the way you showed the colors working together just sold me! Also the glosses were something I thought I would totally want - BUT now that you mentioned they're kinda gritty I can just use that money toward the palette instead.

on the highlight, i would apply with a brush and then going over with a wet beauty blender. only way my dry skin likes powder highlights.
I love this look and really appreciate that you didn’t just do the blue eye look that I keep seeing. I was like 75% sure I was going to buy this palette, but felt held up by the price since I’m in Canada.... buuuuuuut your tip on mixing the shimmers definitely softens that feeling and I’ll probably order it for sure now. the design of the madonna skin care line is great, but I hate that high-end skincare almost always has fragrance which makes my skin figuratively block me and never speak to me again so that's a no from me
1) I caught up on Ozark because of you, you're welcome, and 2) now you've got me thinking about the eyeshadow palette more. I've been a little on the fence about it, I like A Moment and Dirty Money but I wasn't sure I would use the neutral mattes in it because I'm a cool toned bitch but I really like the way you mixed and layered the metallics; that made it seem a lot more special to me. I also like A Mauve Story but I am the type of person that is so pale that I sometimes can't find my foundation or concealer shade in brands, in fact Elcie is one of those that I can't wear because of their shade range, so I'm not sure if I would like that lipstick on me because I'm thinking it might pull to peach for my liking on my skin tone. I know Desi & Katy are hella tan/olive but I wish they would do a lip color that isn't pretty much only suited predominately for that skin tone group because I don't feel like the lipsticks are very cool/fair friendly. Still pretty awesome collection though and I like seeing a review from someone who is honest about what they like and don't like in a collab.

This is the perfect demonstration of why undertones matter: all that peachiness that you don't like? I'm pale with neutral to olive undertones and I can't get enough of the peachy/brown end of things. Cooler pinks look really artificial on me. The closest I come to MLBB in the pink range is a warm pink from Sephora that I got [mumble] years ago. I have to stay on the champagne to gold end of highlighters but, being white AF, cannot do a Trophy Wife, you know?
I'm really loving the palette, those shimmers look like they applied really nicely with a brush so very tempting...
