Skylar Lucic should be penalized for such an early retirement. I guess we can storyboard career-ending concussion. Will be back with more thoughts.

    Hi Data,
I made some notes for myself and I share them with you. I always included offseason notes in the upcoming season...a little discrepancy from chapters as you did them.
16th offseason/season - Oh nice, I am so glad you kept Hutson in the first offseason. Expensive, but worthy. It was better going with Quint as the second line center, but he lost the position in the playoffs and got smaller role, right? Or was it just typical under-performance by young gun? Anyway, we won SC in the first year of simulation. Perfect! Lucic retired in 33? That is not so perfect...another key player gone, but he decided to leave as the Cup champion. I voted for him and I hope I will see him in DHoF.
17th season - I understand a decision about Emelin, I think we tried hard enough and kept him even longer than it was supposed to be. The same thing with another legend - Ramirez, who has won 4 Stanley Cups with us. There is just prof. McIntyre, our captain left of the team who has won our first SC and after this season he is just one 50-goal season away from NHL record set by Ovechkin in this Universe. A good run in the playoffs, but Mikkola probably knew our forwards too well.
18th season - We knew we needed Rask until our younger guys get ready and him leaving now is something I expected. It's good decision and we had to do it anyway. I am glad I was not wrong about Quint. Not lucky in the playoffs again and do we know why Perfetti had Habs logo on his profile when he retired with the Blues?
19th season - Bye-bye Brule, he was a good servant of this organization, but trading him and his contract was necessary move and I like it. He was elite in the playoffs and I was glad we had him. Ooooh, that could have been NHL record equalizing season had McIntyre scored one more goal... Good goaltending by JDD winning Vezina, but not so much from his backup. That probably cost us another President's trophy.
20thth season - Now we must say goodbye to Cole Hutson. We did not have money for him and we made a good move for high draft pick.
21st season - finally! McIntyre became one of the greatest - 12x 50 goal season and equalizing Ovechkin record, I guess if you beat legends like Gretzky and Bossy, you must be someone special.. amazing feat and if there was something I hoped for, this was the thing! It's pity we lost the Cup final this time. Team looked very good, though.
22nd season - At this point I hoped, McIntyre has one more 50 goal season left in his tank, but no, he decided to retire unfortunately.....for me he is the greatest Starfleet player ever and one of the best in the history. I am sorry even more, because he was supposed to stay for another SC run. It did not happen and Erixon hoisted the Stanley Cup for the first time as the team captain. Good veteran playoffs by Nesterov and again, I like Quint and Valicevic are still the guys who pull this team forward. Nice feat by Fritzmeier winning his first Norris.
23rd season - almost nothing left of the team from 15th season, but Valicevic, Erixon, Quint, Friztmeier and Nesterov are still the core and look at them! Another Stanley Cup! And Conn Smythe trophy for Quint! Perfect!
24th season - yeah, and we say goodbye to another legend, 6th round pick Nesterov, what he did and how in his late years of the career is nothing short of incredible. JDD playing under his standard this year, but we reached SC final again. Valicevic still around and I like it. He is from my home country, we had doubts about him at one point, also some bad experience with PWF in the past, but he proved to be a solid player and one of the leaders late in his career.
25th - Now we say goodbye to another legend of Starfleet and our captain, Ludvig Erixon. Kudos to him, he has always been there. I have already voted for DHoF, but if I had known, I would have extended the number of players I voted for at least to him, JDD and Valicevic, who (as I expected) took over from Erixon as the 4th captain in the franchise history. Erixon could have stayed for one more, but he probably did not know Data and his crew are leaving after the next season... I guess Michal Valicevic is the first captain of Data's GM career from Slovakia, which makes me proud...I know he was generated player, but anyway, it was a pleasure to have him and now he finished with his second Conn Smythe and the Stanley Cup as a captain. Fairy tale ending indeed....
All 25 seasons have been really good and I expressed myself a few times how I liked the idea of multi-nationality of our lines. I would be pleased, if we repeat it in the future.
If I had to say what to do next I would love to do Blue Jackets/Flames in the memory Johnny Gaudreau... Both will fit our needs as they have not seen success in a long time, but from salary cap point of view, they would be easy to start from scratch. If not those two, let's do some franchise really loaded with some bad contracts and buy out penalties. It really pushed our thoughts when you worked with Canucks and in the past, when you lead the Sharks I saw similar complications, too. From this point of view, the best candidates would be Islanders, Jets and even Golden Knights if you exclude some franchises you have done in the past already.
Whatever it would be, I am already curious what challenges are waiting for us.
Thanks for your dedication and this amazing series!
