If you make the front truck stiffer it's basically a cruiser board. It can be also pushed and it's stable on higher speeds, it's a very versatile truck.
the section where you say truck lean does not match past a certain angle is because if you press down only on the toeside back axel you're turning that truck more than the other truck, and so that truck has to tilt. If you applied any weight with your front foot on the toeside, all 4 wheels would be on the ground and both trucks would be turning the same amount in opposite directions
I have the same board and my biggest issue by far is the kicktail. It's sooo small and hurts my feet since it puts pressure between the toes and foot and the inside of my heel. Not sure if I wanna hold onto it and get a different deck or what. I just feel so much more connection and engagement with my C7s, but these are great for just cruising around flat areas. I find when a hill is too steep I get scared since it doesn't have a super stable midpoint like the C7 does and I don't want to get speed wobbles
Would you prefer the SLIDE or the Carver x Triton you tested in an other video? (or generaly, do you prefer SLIDE truck or carver CX truck?) Im not sure about SLIDE fish tuna 32" and Carver x Triton 32". (or Mindless 30"...)
Hello, Shane! Great video review. Just curious, how would you rate this truck set on a deck & wheels of your choice? In case you try it out, would love to see that review.
Do you prefer a shorter wheelbase or longger longboard type wheelbase? I'm new to surfskating and am trying to figure out what wheelbase I like best. I don't like my rear foot being behind the rear trucks with short wheelbases as it makes the rear feel like its going to slip out. I keep trying to like a short wheelbase because I think maybe I'm just missing something and perhaps having your rear foot behind the rear trucks might allow better pumping? But it just doesn't feel good to me. My 42" longboard with Carver CX trucks and a 31" wheelbase feels the best for carving. I'm 6'3" tall so on the taller side. I wish I liked short boards cause they look fun, but I'm just not there yet.
Hi Shane, silly question. Are Fish Marrajo, Fish Drifter, Fish Pavones and Fish Tuna (all 32"x10"x17.5" WB) the same board but with different deck designs? How does Fish Pavones compare with SmoothStar Toledo #77? I love my board and I can't afford to buy another board. I am keeping my quiver to one skateboard.
I'm not Shane but as far as I know, the only difference between those models from Slide is that the Fish Marrajo comes with 70mm wheels that have a sharp-angled profile and a wider contact patch, so that one should be better for pumping on flat surfaces and long-distance cruising. I believe the SmoothStar surfskates have a more surfy feeling, the front truck is much looser than the Slide models, they are better to practice surf maneuvers, while the Slide is more stable and easier for beginners.
Thank you for your informative channel! I am a beginner in skating, which one of your reviewed boards would you recommend: the slide fish pavones 32" or the triton x carver prismal 32" ? Thanks mate
Slide surfskate are generally more on the stable side. Tightening it fully will allow easy kickpushing. But it will still be looser than a regular cruiser
Nice review, I bought Slide as my first surfskate mainly because you can't get Carvers in Europe right now and Slide was like 100$ cheaper than Yow. I have different model though with a wider tail. It's nice to see that all these fancy manouvers are possible. 🤙🤙🤙
How is lockdown for you in Melbourne? Hopefully you are less than 5km from your skate park. Obviously this was filmed before your 5 day (hopefully not more) lockdown.
I haven't been to Melbourne for nearly 18 years. Such beautiful scenery when you are cruising the streets. I need to visit again soon. (whenever borders open up????)

Shoulda gone the Gussie, Shane!- wider nose, wider tail..🤙🤙
Great review! Very helpful. I love how many details you included.

Nope. Already tried all combination.
Thank you for sharing your skills, knowledge, and technique! Your videos are always really helpful and well done! 🤙👍

Curious, what do you mean midpoint stable?
Man, I LOVE your content and videos. I was in Oz in 2018& 2019 but only recently into surf skating. Dang, you make me miss Ozzie a lot

Another awesome review Shane! Top!
Thanks bro
Hello, Shane! Great video review.

I would like a much bigger deck, with more concave. I guess I will just stay with the one and only surf skateboard that I own.

@@Shaesi. thanks for your response. I should have looked a bit harder.
Wonder if the lean would improve with say a Carver C2 back truck and a different deck?
Yeah the C2 makes everything better. You might need to raise the height of the front truck to match the back though
looking at my new slide diamond, I think the lean is lopsided to the direction the spring coils in

Thank for review 👏👏👏👍 I have a new beginning with Slide ❤️
Hi quick question, when you tighten the trucks on the max, can it be a classic cruser board. Is that generally possible to do on any surfskate.
Slide surfskate are generally more on the stable side. Tightening it fully will allow easy kickpushing. But it will still be looser than a regular cruiser

what model do you have??
I'm wanting to start surf skating but I can't decide whether to go with a Slide or a Triton. Any recommendations? Thanks
Which board did you decide on dude? I'm picking between the same, Slide Model or the Carver X triton.
Merci Shane pour tout ce travail, je rajoute cette vidéo à ma très longue liste de choses à faire...
Thank you very much for all your videos Shane, is Slide surfskate actually easier to learn to slide as the name suggests?
Not necessarily
Le deck de la Slide Gussie corrige pas mal des défauts que tu cites notamment la largeur (pas le concave parcontre).
Bonne review 👍

Slide problem is the deck ., they are too breakeble.
Даже смотреть на это скучно))) чуть не заснул на середине🥱😴😪
