- The Associates of the Boston Public Library came alive with literary excitement on October 1, 2024, with our annual Writer-in-Residence Reception in the Boston Public Library's Rabb Hall. This Reading and Reception was unlike any other, as the Associates celebrated 20 years of the historic program with Special Guest Speaker, acclaimed YA and Childrens' author, Lois Lowry.

Danielle Emerson, outgoing 2023-24 Writer-in-Residence introduced by 2010-11 Writer-in-Residence, Elaine Dimopoulos.

About The Associates of the Boston Public Library
The Associates of the Boston Public Library is an independent non-profit that raises funds to preserve, digitize, and promote the BPL’s Special Collections of historic, literary, and artistic treasures. Since its inception in 1972, the Associates has been the driving force and sponsor behind an extensive range of programs, including Literary Lights- an annual black-tie dinner that honors exceptional New England authors, the Pierce Performance Series- free public programming highlighting an item in the Special Collections, the Hundred-Year Retroactive Book Award competition, and a variety of other programs.
