I listened to both NA and JP music (just music) and thought NA was better, but I came to watch this longplay because I remembered the JP music being better IN THE GAME. NA is better as like standalone music. I was never aware that getting all Time Stones gives you good ending no matter what, I may need to seriously play this again. it's been since 1997 with Sonic PC for me and I have it on Sega CD since 2007.

This gmae's music and lvels are great but it does have a ton of problems that were thankfully fixed in the 2011 version. If you're playing Sonic CD 2011, you are playing a masterpiece.

I noticed the player skipping all of the time posts in Palmtree and raised an eyebrow, but then, bam, plot twist. 🤣 You're only the second player I've seen go for the time stones. I much preferred exploring the stages. They couldn't have been so huge for no reason, right?
I like that CD has multiple options like that for getting the good ending, it lends itself to different people's preferences in playstyles. I usually go for the Time Stones because I like going for faster-paced runs.

Yeah it's emulated. I believe the music fadeout happens on hardware too though, it's an early CD game and effective looping wasn't a thing, I recall a handful of games had a similar thing at the time iirc
