Coming to Hallmark this fall...Mike is a wildly successful video game twitch streamer who seemingly has it all. One Fall morning Mike is called back to his small rural northeastern US town by his high school buddy Colin. At first Mike has a hard time letting go of his current lifestyle, worrying about losing followers on Twitch, but as he and Colin reminisce about the old times playing board games over pumpkin spice lattes, Mike starts to realize there is more to life than subscriber counts. This culminates in Mike helping out the whole OSCS gang put together the annual Fall Board Gaming festival in his hometown and Mike learning that life is really about the people, or meeples, you meet along the way.
Imagine making this into a robust legacy worker placement simulation game where you have multiple scenarios to work through. Each scenario gives random goals and criteria based on the scenario level and how far along a time track the game is set (as in over 150 years or so), starting with stage productions and ending with virtual reality movies. It would be like the old computer game “The Movies” on a tabletop! You could build up a studio like a Kingdom Monster settlement, have RPG elements for the actors, investors, crew, and admin staff, and shoot movies in large-scale “boss fights.” Equipment would be quality of equipped costumes, makeup, cameras, lighting, mics, etc. Random AI decks would cause actors to forget lines (need higher success rolls) or booms in shots, shadows cast everywhere, sound engineer’s headphones to short out, etc. Your success is determined by the completeness and quality of the final production, and random events could have other studios poach your actors or crew, fires destroy the prop shed, and so on.
I, too, foresee a kind of heist film. It starts with the OSCS group meeting and being given code names: Mr. Cull, Mr. DC, Ms. Dice Tray, Mr. LOTR, and Mr. Pink (go figure). But everything goes wrong, and we end up in a tense stand off with the remaining gang arguing over which LCG is best. I give you “Reservoir Games.”
the OSCS guys are together when the zombie apocalypse occurs. They use ideas from all the zombie boardgames they have to craft weapons and come up with strategies to survive.
you could build a home made rocket launcher but hold it the wrong way around Mike "are you sure this thing is pointing the right way" Bairnt "100% sure Mike, FIRE!" Mike "okey dokey" BLAM! Bairnt "oops, maybe not"
The gang at One Stop Co-op shop come together when they realize that the people in town are slowly turning into Meeple; and find out that they are destroying all solo/cooperative games and making everyone only play Monopoly. Will they roll the dice and save everyone? or will they land on the 'go to jail' space forever?
The film is in the style of 12 Angry Men, the OSCS crew are playing a hidden traitor coop game. With twists and turns of who to trust, lots of player turns paralyzed by analysis paralysis and numerous soliloquies debating what actions to take.
OSCS Presents… Roll for Life! Mike never leaves the house with his dice. Every life decision all comes down to the pips of the dice, leading to unpredictable career paths, relationships and interesting food choices. Roll along the journey of Mike’s life and laugh/cry/scream along. Rated PG-13.
The OSCS are playing Roll Camera!, when all of a sudden they are sucked into the game (Jumanji style) and now they have to actually come up with a film and produce it in order to get out. Movie pitch: Mike becomes an overnight sensation in the glamorous world of professional board gaming. Cue the montage as he wows crowds at every major FLGS. But the lifestyle of the rich and famous is too much for him, as he alienates his friends and loved ones with multi-night energy drink and Doritos benders. Public opinion sours, and he finds himself down and out, forced to play for cash in seedy gaming dens that use house rules. The film ends with a climactic tournament of Catan, with Mike's redemption on the line. It needs a catchy, one-word title. "Board."
My movie idea features you, Mike, as the leader of a commune in the woods who has convinced all your disciples to rid themselves of their earthly possessions and follow you. Are you benevolent or do you have more… nefarious purposes? Find out in… Cullt of Personality ;)
OSCS team has taken the internet by storm, and FINALLY Hollywood has come calling! They want OSCS: The Motion Picture. And they desperately want a mega-hit. The only problems are a ridiculously small budget and a tight (for 'tight', read 'miniscule') budget. No problem! This gang can handle it. And... ACTION!
I think there's a game for everyone, so the movie would be a quest for the ultimate board game collection to gather us all!. (In safer times of course) :)
"The Final Play" One Stop's first live show was a tremendous success. An unusually harsh and critical review of Robo Colonist, the first board game designed by AI, was especially notable. The scathing commentary was shared and enjoyed by millions, propelling One Stop to the top. One small problem.... the game's creator, Deep7, was not "pleased". It insists on bringing the hellish landscape of it's own game to reality. The two gamers must use their expertise and a mysterious, prototype d20 to face the Robo Colonist for one final play.
In the land of Delphia, a new ruler has taken control. He has instituted a gladiatorial games event in which teams from all over compete for fame, glory, and the right to live. The OSCS has put together a crew of misfits carrying all the hopes and dreams of their families. The battles are brutal, and not swift. After the final dust settles, the new Emperor rules they are to be banished forever. Everything turns to black. Hours….days perhaps…have passed, and the group awakens on an unfamiliar shore. They walk for miles and miles, parched and starving. They find a cave, make crude torches, and head down, exploring deeper and deeper. At the back they feel a breeze, and they use their strength to break through the wall to their right. Before them lies an enormous empty cavern, rounded at the top, and stone holding up the cave. Across the way they see a sign: “Subway, Times Square.” Loyalty will be tested, bonds formed and broken, lives lost, and an empire will see the rise of a new hero in: Kingdoms Seven (7 for the continents)
I mean we have to go with the board game heist idea with mike as a mastermind and steve as the tech man and getting someof the other members of different groups and patreons as members of the heist and we could have the con be the big bad hmmm.
How about Mike and crew going on a quest to find an ancient board game. Finally getting to the board game's resting place, has to avoid all the traps. The one board game to rule them all!!!
In 2053, the world has fallen into disarray. There is violence, murder, turf wars, and everyone is fighting everyone. That is until….The OSCS steps in and takes control. Since the penal system wasn’t working and law enforcement cannot handle the strain of so much turmoil, the OSCS has decided to try something different. They apply for a grant to drop millions of cooperative board games across the world, with mini video players that have playthroughs of the games dropped. Over time, the people of the world found that it is better to work together to get things done, rather than be competitive. Why win by yourself when you can win with everyone.

HAHAHA, this is great. I feel like I've seen 10 rom coms with this plot, in one form or another.

That is ambitious but sounds really cool!

HAHAHAHA, love it! We should get a whole scene where we complain about our names. But no ear-cutting!
No, you just punch out counters instead.
Bairnt has the whole crew over, but it turns out he converted his basement into a giant dungeon crawl everyone must complete to leave.
WHAT!? I want this to happen for real, dang it!
the OSCS guys are together when the zombie apocalypse occurs. They use ideas from all the zombie boardgames they have to craft weapons and come up with strategies to survive.
Love it :) One of us has to get eaten though... I nominate myself (Mike), but only if I can have an epic speech beforehand.

I hate to admit how many of those identical paragraphs I read before stopping... :)

Can I have J.K. Simmons in it, yelling at me repeatedly? Because then I think it would be perfect...

Ah, using that age-old Hollywood trick of making a movie about making a movie... nicely done!
A horror movie where the OSCS team is trapped in a room with nothing but a copy of Monopoly.
BWAHAHA, love it!
Ngl, I'd pay 15 bucks to see Mike's movie... too bad it never got made😥
This game looks like so much fun! Thank you, Mike! 👍😎🚛
Hey, there's always the future!
Does anyone know if this is available on TTS while waiting for release?
Looks like there's a mod here, though I have not tried it - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1831811355

Yikes, tough to get all 6 of us to agree ;)
love how you win by making either a great movie or a terrible movie lol
Yeah, one of the fun parts of the theme for sure.

@@OneStopCoopShop I love those two franchises so much I didn't realize I mashed them together. 😆

That’s a great suggestion. Thanks!

10:01 Mike I think you miss-played it... The idea said that the die you out aside is not playable this turn or the next one 🤦
Oh I absolutely did. I put some notes in the video calling that out!
Not in the US sadly
Sorry about that! Shipping is too crazy these days :(
