When we are in deep dreamless sleep we have no pain but we don't have awareness also. Attaining the same state as dreamless sleep and being aware is the goal that great swamis have been trying to teach for thousands of years.
I'm not so sure. I think there is a glimmer of awareness. It is said that the 'turiya' - the fourth state, represents an awareness that is always aware and lies behind the other three states of waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. Do you not have a very vague recollection of deep sleep?. I think I do but it's so vague that I am not certain. Also I bear in mind that it is possible to wake a person from deep sleep, and that implies awareness. I kind of see it like a computer in sleep mode, ... it's powered down, but still running and ready to respond.
Physical pain will awaken you from a deep sleep - at least it does for me :-/ But I don't believe that the target state is that of a sleep like deep meditative absorption. They used to call this "stone buddha" ... enlightenment that is not compatible with ordinary everyday consciousness is not enlightenment. The ancient traditions of cultivating extreme concentration and stillness over many hours or days (jhana) is not useful to others because you are walled off from the rest of the world in your cave so to speak. The Buddha taught the middle path, realizing your true nature gives rise to compassionate action.
I experience waves of bliss (no pain) and it is only when i drop all and just be... I am blessed to understand,even though these moments are fleeting and few... Namaste

She should better do a therapy before starting some serious spiritual work. Otherwise she will likely missuse spiritual practices to run away from her trauma.

Once you have grasped through Dhyana Yoga this first stage intellectually then you move to the stage of experience. In Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna called it the Sankya Yoga!!

It came periodically and it is hell, in your whole body. I tried to ease the pain with moves. It took 3 1/2 - 4 hrs, and gone. I was in the state of bliss ---- until a thought arose. It was knife. So I avoided thoughts. * Years after, I thought about it, what did stop the pain? Moving does not kill helio bacteria, nor eats stomach acid. Than what? * I came to the conclusion, that the very nature of the "exercise" is taking away the energy we provide to the mind. It slowly settles, and the subconscious takes over, as during deep sleep. She takes care of everything. She is always there, but the minds stops her. * What moves? I analyzed. They have to get around the mind. Either conscious or spontaneous. Eat before 18h. Start it at 19h, undisturbed. 1) Spontaneous moves, small ones, following with the consciousness 2) Gentle stretches 3) Periodic movements (limbo), changing before the mind catches on 4) Very slow movements, way too slow for the mind to follow 5) Standing still, the mind has no patience * I always experienced 3 waves of attacks. You wait, and they go away. 1) Within an hour : hunger of a wolf 2) Within two hours : some strong emotional urge (disregard) 3) Within three hours : sexual desire or strong intuition (they are the same) * Around 10:30 - 11:00 you will be in the state of bliss. On the carpet you lay. You started with little moves of fingers, worked up to body parts, in the 3rd hour lots of work around the spine, finally quieting down to small movements, and you just move the big toe on your feet, giving sensations of being. Slowly crawl into bed, and you will sleep like a baby. * If you don't have patience for that, here is another one. Start physically exhaust yourself from 16h. If you feel dead at 17h, keep pushing. 18h, keep pushing, while you don't think you can do 5 minutes more. 19h keep pushing. 20h Keep pushing 21h keep pushing 22h : fall in the bed totally exhausted, beyond and beyond. * It works, for after time you will get too tired to eat. After to feel. After to get happy or angry. After too tired even to think. You have to use your energies to the physical duty, you can't feed the monster, the mind. So, it automatically will collapse to it's natural state. * These practices won't bring enlightenment, but you can enjoy the wind of it.
The moment you come to the present you are realized .so simple keep up the inquiry.once you find the light switch flick it .the light comes on same with you.come to the moment.like listening to a drop of water. In the waterfall
If you are identified with your thoughts you cannot simply stop thinking. You have to recognize trough observation of the "i thought" that it is a just a thought and not yourself/your true position. If you can recognize then you are enlightened on your true position/your self that sees/observes the thought. If you have been conditioned with much pressure on expectations and suppose to do this and that you also have to come to realize the futility in doing/achieving and that it is not the ultimate in this life but being totally in tune with life regardless of doing or happening, then you are done. You know yourself and the futility of thoughts. You are able to stay in reality fully enjoying the highest life has to offer as you have totally let go of mind.
One just has to divert the mind by doing something or engaging into something, from the place from where pain is brought from the past to get rid of the pain
A thought is just a thought and is largely based on conditioning. We are conditioned to believe that we need to be something other than what we are to be loved and alright. This leads us to criticize ourselves and others for not being "alright". A vicous cycle. There is a reality beyond conditioned thoughts where unconditional love exists and everything is alright. We might pursue change in world but there is no hate or blame. Come back to unconditional love over and over and never stop.
I followed Papajis instructions for years, now im sitted here with no thought, no feeling, its really not for everyone, I miss my desires, my likes, my old life... hope you don't find this emptiness forever because its just waiting for death.

Misleading title. “Satori” almost all of the great Papaji’s 🙏 awakening failed to hold for more than a short period. That is a Satori technically. Many are deceived thinking all these openings around him were abiding. They are but a glimpse.
Instant enlightenment is relatively easy. It's basic. I was there 28 years ago. That was the past. This second you can get "instant enlightenment". That's just the beginning, it's a door opening, the door can shut again for most of your life. So what about this second? There's always a new second. Did you try it? See you in Lucknow.
Instant enlightenment : answer to « who am I ? » you can’t be what you percieve. The sentence « I percieve » contain all the truth. Because there is « I » and there is the the perceived. They are seperated. If you understand « I percieve », automatically you are free. Because in the percieved, there is the body with all the sensations and emotions etc that You percieve, so, because you percieve it, you are not you body. There is the mind, so you are not the mind because, it’s the same song, you percieve thoughts. So who are you ? You are « That » which perceives. Feel your True Self, maintain it, and live free. You are That. There is nothing to obtain, you are, since always, That. The Self from the scriptures. The Self from the teachings of Sages. And that Self is the same in every creature. Pure Consciousness. Once you obtained that sensation of being « That which percieves » , all the work is to maintain it and approfound it. And that is the work of the man (that is you percieve) so there is no work for You. Follow a path, follow a teaching from a great Sage, and work on the Path of Liberation wich is the goal of attaining constant living of the Self. if it is not constant, there is no liberation. May it be revealed to you: Peace from the depths of Being! Knowledge of the transcendence of Consciousness! Love coming from an exteriorization of Bliss!
SANSKARAS...which are Evolutionary Sanskaric Impressions or Imprints Play a role in conditioning the mind. By pure observation, based on understanding the Laof Nature, one can stop identifying with the false egoistic limited self But it's a Sadhana by itself

Thought is translation in our mind based on language we learnt and the vibartions read by the brain. The vibration is catched by brain first and then by our consciousness and to define it(buddhi apply logic based on historical data one has based on 5 sense collection done so far). If you keep meditating and be watchful of moment by moment...you will soon reach to the steps written above. The thoughts appear only by translation vibartions into language and the thought disappear when the vibration fades away. Once you reached there you will find no need to change anything or synthesis anything. You will just witness it

if the pain is your body signaling to you that something is wrong, it doesn't always benefit us to ignore the signal. She wants to get rid of it for good and if there's a biological anomaly that is being signaled by the pain, ignoring it will not stop it at the root. -dogeprophet4U

@Michael Kean I'm well aware of the logic, I did a 10-day vipassana, and although it did help me see a way forward, it wasn't until I took more physical mechanical action by listening to the body signals that I began making real permanent progress. sure meditation can do wonders and magic for healing, and I've seen the science but people get addicted to trying to get there and it feels hopeless if you think that's the only solution. I've been putting work in for 3 years slowly reversing things, I did this by listening to my body instead of my doctor, what's the difference with a guru? listen to your body

I followed Papajis instructions for years, now im sitted here with no thought, no feeling, its really not for everyone, I miss my desires, my likes, my old life... hope you don't find this emptiness forever because its just waiting for death.

Can "pain" be made so general in how you have gotten your pain? That you must have been spending your time with another person to get this pain.
Pain & suffering are out of ignorance stupidity blindness & foolishness of the human mind. When the mind is diverted from The Lord Creator towards the material physical world then pain & suffering ensue.
Whatever else this man teaches its just a play on words using the cleverness & intellect of the mind. He himself is in pain suffering but hides it. Blind leading blind.

Instant enlightenment is relatively easy. It's basic. I was there 28 years ago. That was the past. This second you can get "instant enlightenment". That's just the beginning, it's a door opening, the door can shut again for most of your life. So what about this second? There's always a new second. Did you try it? See you in Lucknow.
Instant enlightenment : answer to « who am I ? »
you can’t be what you percieve. The sentence « I percieve » contain all the truth. Because there is « I » and there is the the perceived. They are seperated.
If you understand « I percieve », automatically you are free.
Because in the percieved, there is the body with all the sensations and emotions etc that You percieve, so, because you percieve it, you are not you body. There is the mind, so you are not the mind because, it’s the same song, you percieve thoughts.
So who are you ?
You are « That » which perceives.
Feel your True Self, maintain it, and live free. You are That. There is nothing to obtain, you are, since always, That. The Self from the scriptures. The Self from the teachings of Sages. And that Self is the same in every creature. Pure Consciousness.
Once you obtained that sensation of being « That which percieves » , all the work is to maintain it and approfound it. And that is the work of the man (that is you percieve) so there is no work for You.
Follow a path, follow a teaching from a great Sage, and work on the Path of Liberation wich is the goal of attaining constant living of the Self. if it is not constant, there is no liberation.
May it be revealed to you:
Peace from the depths of Being!
Knowledge of the transcendence of Consciousness!
Love coming from an exteriorization of Bliss!

Sir What is the origin of thought ? From where it emerges and where it goes ? Can we modulate our thoughts ? Can we stop our thought process ?
Mr Rahul you are confused !! You will never find the answer to these questions you asked!! Mind is engineered in such a way as to always find cause and effect!! Can you locate your mind??
Thought is past
Thought is translation in our mind based on language we learnt and the vibartions read by the brain. The vibration is catched by brain first and then by our consciousness and to define it(buddhi apply logic based on historical data one has based on 5 sense collection done so far).
If you keep meditating and be watchful of moment by moment...you will soon reach to the steps written above.
The thoughts appear only by translation vibartions into language and the thought disappear when the vibration fades away.
Once you reached there you will find no need to change anything or synthesis anything. You will just witness it

if the pain is your body signaling to you that something is wrong, it doesn't always benefit us to ignore the signal. She wants to get rid of it for good and if there's a biological anomaly that is being signaled by the pain, ignoring it will not stop it at the root. -dogeprophet4U

@@emendatus1 rhetorically it's not helpful for someone with chronic pain. telling someone it's impossible to stop is just the same as a doctor saying it's incurable.
@Michael Kean I'm well aware of the logic, I did a 10-day vipassana, and although it did help me see a way forward, it wasn't until I took more physical mechanical action by listening to the body signals that I began making real permanent progress.
sure meditation can do wonders and magic for healing, and I've seen the science but people get addicted to trying to get there and it feels hopeless if you think that's the only solution.
I've been putting work in for 3 years slowly reversing things, I did this by listening to my body instead of my doctor, what's the difference with a guru? listen to your body
