  • Lontong (hard-boiled rice cake) is an important sundry in many traditional Indonesian foods.
    It's originally made using banana leaf as its wrapper.
    This tutorial will help you make lontong without banana leaf. All you need is rice that has been soaked overnight, food-grade plastic bags, and a deep pot (I use a pressure cooker here).

    This is a toxic way to make lontong.. all the microtoxins leaching out of the plastic bag. Not a good technique.
