Same as you, man; I can have so many green days in a row and then 2-3 Really bad red days that put me back to square one. But we will crack the code. I can smell victory.

For me when I’ve run accounts down in the past, there’s always a palpable head shift. My mindset switches from responsible trader to gambler. When I’m in the gambler mindset I don’t care about the losses and compulsively burn it down.
But the awareness of this head change is important. I can throw a small amount at something else to gamble with it if I really want to. Or I can simply close my browser and walk away when I feel the switch in mindsets.
If you need to get that gambler release out then there are other avenues to do it. Avenues where you don’t run down your hard work.

I’m thinking of letting that stress out somewhere else- video games or something that can grab my attention in a similar way. But I’m concerned if that would just be a temporary fix and not pulling the root.

Brother, your story is similar to mine (I was a super soldier in the army + 2 times the top scorer in youth soccer league), and 3 times I got to a payout request and managed to blow up the accounts before getting paid... you are a winner in life, and the problem with winners is not accepting losing (even when it's for our own good), and you need to work on it just as I am trying to work on it... you are a good trader, you know your craft and maybe even have an edge in the market, just learn to be a better loser bro, just like I am trying... it is the hardest thing in the world for me but its the only thing that stand in our way to total financial freedom... best of luck!

Whilst I like this guy and everything he is saying resonates, it’s important to make something clear: trading isn’t about mental condition. So many people seem to do an emotional whip-round, like it’s a Ouija board, to bet more all the time. If you don’t have an edge, you should not be trading. If you do have an edge, you don’t need to act irrationally-and you won’t.
Finding an edge is the only advice worth giving to an aspiring trader. Forget self-discipline; it’s meaningless if you don’t have an edge. Finding an edge is very difficult, but it’s possible. There’s a reason why ~90% of retail traders are not profitable.

I trade for pence at a time. A decent average size position for me is around 10-15 pence. This allows me to focus on the trade entirely and not the money.
In the background I plug in other accounts (copy trading) which are all pre-set to correct amounts. They handle all of the money scaling - I’m not involved with changing lot sizes or anything of that nature during the actual trading session. If I adjust the base account lot size, the copy accounts would remain fixed.
I think if you implemented a system like this it could help you as it would remove many of the variables from your control. You could also disconnect your funded account when you hit your loss limit and continue trading without damaging anything.
Wishing you well for 2025. ✨

so you trade and focus on a 15 pence position and in the background there is copied position with bigger sums? did i get you right? Seems like a good idea, how did it work for you?

    • @79bull
      @79bull 3 дні тому +1

@ I focus on the actual trade. From the entry to maximising the closure. I regularly can achieve 80-90% of the total movement like this. The bi-product of doing this is typically a position resulting in 10-15 pence on my screen. In the background on another server the linked accounts have generated higher amounts. It works perfectly for me because it keeps things linear - I’m never tempted to gamble a large lot size short position ‘dead cert’ for example (and I actually can’t without reconfiguring the copy server). There is no “we’re going in big on this one”. The experience is flat, mundane, less exciting (boring?!) and is about the quality of planning and execution of a contract instead of money.

Peasant Ambition, you’re addicted to gambling. I’m a recovering addict myself, and I see the same patterns in you. In your rants, you give so many clues that this is wearing you down and that you need to stop. Yet seconds later, you go right back to talking about following the system, sizing, stop losses, and so on. Read up on dopamine, adrenaline, and gambling addiction, and you’ll see the similarities. Sometimes we simply lose the ability to control ourselves, and our “monkey brain” tries to rationalize everything, searching for patterns where there aren’t any. We don’t realize we’re just acting on emotions triggered by hormones.
It’s great that you’re open about it. That’s a good step forward, but I believe you need help, man. Stop trading and feeding this addiction. You hit the jackpot by being born in the US, you can get a stable job, earn a good salary, and set aside money to invest. If you still want to gamble, keep it to less than 1% of your portfolio for those meme coins.
You could also invest in your media channels. You communicate well on camera and have a story that might resonate with people going through similar struggles. You could help raise awareness about how trading can become a gambling addiction.

I know that I am, I just cannot surrender to the (fact) that I can’t control myself. I still think that I can control myself, and I do not have to overreact. But as you know I continue to try, and keep continuing to fail.
It might be that no amount of rules or knowledge/awareness can prevent it. I have a very strong and bad habit.
      Thanks for your thoughts

Maybe you need to treat trading like being in the Marines. Is there a 'rule' or 'instruction' in the Marines that you must always adhere to, and if you didn't follow it, you could lose your life or be booted out? I don't have a military background, but maybe there was a rule that if you are under enemy fire and your mate has been shot, rather than help, you must seek cover if available rather than help him. In many ways, your journey is life or death. If you are so passionate about trading, and you want to make it your life, then have the discipline of a marine. Not sure whether you like to drink or party etc, but if you cut your losses at $2000, go out and reward yourself and celebrate it. Best of luck.

There is a good trader in you man its clear as day. Your close. Those 14 days on that chart show a beautiful uptrend, you almost doubled the account in that time. Unfortunately this is one of those situations where advice wont help you. ONLY YOU CAN. You know what you have to do. You could get a 100 course from a 100 gurus they probably couldn't stop you doing this. ONLY YOU CAN. See you at the top dude 📈

Doubling the account in 14 days might = over leveraging but don't know the in and outs of your strat.

you need to learn more about yourself. trading is a byproduct of us. this chart tells me a lot about you. you can have many happy days but one bad day ruins everything. we need to be emotionless in our movements and learn when our strategy does not work that day. your strategy is weak and your rules are weak. hopefully this teaches you and you improve. you can do it!
