  • On a rainy day in 1958, now legendary jazz music producer Creed Taylor, sat down with Orchestra leader, Kenyon Hopkins to come up with an album for the kids, for Halloween.
Shock was released in October 1958 and was the start of a series of albums that mixed radio drama, with jazz musicians & an orchestra led by Hopkins. The orchestra was named 'The Creed Taylor Orchestra' as Hopkins was under contract elsewhere.
This video includes a 33-minute mix with tracks taken from four albums produced by Creed Taylor between 1958 and 1962 for ABC Paramount and MGM. The mix ends with a surprise appearance of jazz drummer Steve Gadd as a member of the group "The Clams".
Put the mix on, turn up the volume and open the windows and let the neighborhood kids come to your door for candy!
