I love this! I’ve been making Hats now for only a few months. But I’m stumped on how to mold the brims. Do you have a video about molding brims? I’ve been using foam board for my construction, it’s great for stability but it doesn’t curl etc.
Hi! Oh that is so cool! I would love to see your creations. I used Eva foam that's a little thicker and using a heat gun. You can make it curl and bend in whatever shape you like. But it's thick enough that it won't flop over. I think it's the 1/4-in thickness if I'm not mistaken. If you use thinner Eva foam, just make sure to glue wire to the edge before you cover it with fabric. That should help with stability. Good luck!

You know it’s so great is that you can find a video where you can make it actually doable or you using EVA foam to make a hat that looks very expensive and you’re showing us materials that we could probably get very low price and just add in some extra details and accessories and I’ll make it look more expensive with just your creativity and some pieces of ribbon and that beautiful contrasting blue ribbon. That was your mothers and now it’s just stunning. I’m going to the Nikola Tesla convention in Madison Wisconsin tomorrow I’ve never been before, and I just thought I would see what other people would be doing. My hat is black I took apart a giant grandfather clock that I found in the alley of my neighbors, they were going to get rid of this beautiful clock, and I had the moon phase dial on the front so I, attach that to the front of my hat with a bunch of gears and sprockets that my husband help me take apart and put with some glue and these big metal panels on the outside of his jacket and then I took other sprockets and metal pieces on my purse that I got at thrift and it’s gonna be really cool. Oh it’s called Tesla con. And even more exciting this year the masquerade ball on Saturday is going to be ancient Egyptian. Theme. That was a bonus.
