I'm impressed with him understanding a terrible person like Doyle being trapped in himself. He did such a great job. His quiet, thoughtful manner is the exact opposite of the character.
Dwight is just such a talented man. I luv everything about him. Bless Him. Yeah, I'm sure he could play any characters he chooses, Dwight just keep singing too. Best singer, songwriter, in my time. Luv Him. Such a well spoken man too. 🇮🇪💚
Dude, TO THIS DAY, I STILL come across people in conversation about Sling Blade that had no idea that Doyle was Dwight Yoakam. Just further cements the fact that Dwight is a true artist in every sense of the word. As a musician, as an actor. This guy is an absolute phenom. I’ve seen him live five times, I’m very proud of that fact, and I can’t wait to see him live again. He’s the best!!
The way he breaks down the complexity of the Doyle character here really makes you see why he did such a stellar job in this movie. He wasn't just playing the villain; there was a depth to it.
What would make you come to that conclusion? Billy Bob Thornton wrote the screenplay for this great movie. The characters were hybrids of Billy Bob's upbringing in Arkansas. Dwight Yoakam didn't write his part. It's called acting for a reason.
I would agree with the warrior on this , I thought it was just me that thought that, my reason is the fact that he can fly off the handle fairly easily, you’ll be sorry you asked video comes to mind , either way he is a very talented man .
The Coke-a-cola Starplex… so the Jayhawks and Tom Petty there in ‘95… that was the little bit part that he was talking about right before the interview… He, himself (with his band, of course)playing at the Starplex
One of the greatest acting performances ever put on film
agreed.. i only wish he had more parts in the film
I just watched Sling Blade for the first time, and man, it really blew me away.
Both Dwight’s and Billy Bob’s were.
Everyone in this film murdered they're roles in this film!!!! This is arguably the most underrated film ever!!!
I'm impressed with him understanding a terrible person like Doyle being trapped in himself. He did such a great job. His quiet, thoughtful manner is the exact opposite of the character.
yeah youre just repeating what he said in the interview.
That’s what all the commenters on UA-cam do. Just parrot back their favorite quote. @@rickdeckard1075
Great smile, Great suit. Such a gorgeous sweet soul.!!!
Great four-in-hand knot. I don't think grey is his colour, but that's a put-together look.
Just watched Sling Blade again and I forgot how good Dwight was in that film. It's a great movie all together, with some great acting all around.
This is such a great interview because it shows how thoroughly he understood the ins and outs of the character.
Outstanding job playing a character that is obviously nothing like him. Such a well spoken, thoughtful man. Damn good musician as well.
“We don’t need to fuckin practice randy”!!!!!
*WE DONT NEED A SHITASS MANAGER NEITHER*
Dwight is just such a talented man. I luv everything about him. Bless Him. Yeah, I'm sure he could play any characters he chooses, Dwight just keep singing too. Best singer, songwriter, in my time. Luv Him. Such a well spoken man too. 🇮🇪💚
Very talented man indeed.
Dwight Yoakam my fave Musician and Actor

He is a very good actor
Dwight is an amazing talent. Great musician and extremely talented actor as well.
I just love this cowboy he is so phenomenal Loving soul my obsession 💙💙💙💙
That is the definition of acting kind and thoughtful man like Dwight Yoakam could play such a horrible person in Sling Blade!
I'm hurting Linda
I like his music, he's a top notch musician...
So talented amazing transformation
Dwight was fabulous!!!!
I bet he knew people just like Doyle, which sucks. Love this man and his impact on the movie!
I adore this man!
Guitars Cadillacs hillbilly music is the only thing that keeps me holding on
Don't know much about this guy's music or other acting, but hearing this interview was very thoughtful and interesting.
In another Universe Doyle Hargreaves sobered up and became a famous country music singer.
He plays Doyle again in Panic Room. Sinister guy
Dare I say, the best acting ever by any musician.
So many one liners from Doyle. We quote him all the time at family gatherings.
The man is a good actor I give them that
Great performance
DOYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Morris get outta my house you F@uckin buzzard!!!!!!! Priceless!!!!!!

He should have gotten best supporting actor. He was fantastic.
What a great actor. I never was a fan of his music, but man! When I watched this movie the first time, I HATED him!! He did his job well!
Dwight looks great with a haircut for this movie
DY is a great guy😊
He was phenomenal in Sling Blade and was hilarious in Logan Lucky!
Dwight absolutely stole that movie!
I think "Doyle" is more a real part of Dwight Yoakam and his upbringing and personal history than Dwight would like to admit.
What would make you come to that conclusion? Billy Bob Thornton wrote the screenplay for this great movie. The characters were hybrids of Billy Bob's upbringing in Arkansas. Dwight Yoakam didn't write his part. It's called acting for a reason.
No way 🙄

We miss you Dwight ❤
Had to be a pretty hard character to portray cuz Dwight is a very nice guy
Can't play Doyle again because his head got damn near split in two.
100x better then the English Patient which won the Oscar that year for best picture.
Dwight was also dating sharon stone in her prime in the mid 90's, life was good for him.
Am I the only one who thinks the Dwight Yoakum scenes were hilarious? I don't know if that was what Billy Bob was going for.
2021 🔥
is that hillary clinton?
I find it hard to like this guy, that's how great of a job he did in his role as Doyle.
This handsome player is my Divine masculine, Holy canoli, EVERYBODY RUNNNNNNNNN !!!!!
gave the middle finger most of the time.
put your hat back on. damn.
He has a putinish look to him dont he?
Guitars and Cadillacs and hillbilly music
