Simply doing a "logout" will return you to steam mode. If you open the "Return to Gaming Mode" file he mentioned in Kate (KDE text editor), you will see that it simply executes the following command: "qdbus org.kde.Shutdown /Shutdown org.kde.Shutdown.logout" This is the normal "user log off" command of KDE, which you can also invoke from the "start" menu.
Click the steam deck icon in the bottom left and then click shut down. Wait for it to shut down and then turn it back on. You should be out of desktop mode after that.

The icons are in alphabetical order. If you can't find it use your dpad and scroll down for a bit. I had over 100 games so it took awhile to find it on mine.
You realize this is under bright lighting and filmed, so dust and prints show up a lot more on camera, right? I did clean right before filming. Also nobody else complained so sounds like a you problem.
@@puppyfacedyeah you're not getting it, it's under direct bright lighting and on camera, so even after cleaning it it looks this way. This electronic has a lot more issues showing it than others, trust me I cleaned it like 3 times before filming lol. Again, you're also the only person to have an issue so maybe you need to evaluate why lol. Take care.

They have different setups, and I'm not changing mine for one electronic with a dim dark black screen which makes it more obvious to show/reflect. This is lcd, not oled. Further, I'm zooming in so people can view easily on mobile. Weird that you're 1/56K people who have a problem with this, again it's a you problem when a few pieces of dust offend you so much. 😂

I just got my steam deck yesterday, and I started messing around with it. Not bad at all.

Don't have that icon on a new device. Instead there's one called "Return desktop" which just opens Kate (a text editor) with basically an empty file.
