Relating to the part where you created a backup and then restored the wallet using that backup: didn't you say it was an encrypted backup? I didn't see you enter a passphrase or decrypt anything. Did i miss anything? What could a person who found the file or the wordlist do with it? Or is it that the backup file is an encrypted file and the wordlist is the key to decrypt it? Probably that now that I write and think about it. I'll leave the comment in case it wasn't clear to anyone else.
Good video. But one doubt remained. How do you send a fund from a specific address to another address? In other words, can you select an address with background, among several, to send via MK4? Thanks.
I am wondering about the Sparrow steps taken before the initial opening of the Sparrow app in this video. I see at the bottom of your app screen there is a slider that is blue, and before that it can be yellow. How do you go about learning that part?
Yeh, I didn’t see that either and couldn’t understand why my btc was not showing up in the wallet. Then thought I would just hit the toggle button which was off when the app was downloaded and voila, the btc had arrived which was a huge relief

Assuming you have a bricked Coldcard. Once you import your seed phrase and as long as you have the correct identity, can you use the existing Sparrow wallet(s) that you have created? Coinkite tell me I need to know the path???
Thank you for this comprehensive video. Is there any difference between cloning the cold card and simply putting in your 24-word seed into the new cold card?
No worries! So cloning will basically copy all your settings/preferences PLUS any items you have in a new feature (which I made a video on) called seed vault. Importing the seed is fine as well, this just streamlines the process and grabs any additional info you've imported.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?

Have you heard anything about Tangem wallet? it's cold hardware wallet that looks like a regular credit card and the keys are stored in it. Would love to see a review from you on the wallet
On the passphrase section when it gives you the option to save to SD card, that is to save the actual passphrase. It's not to save the xpub for exporting to another wallet.
If you save the passphrase does that mean you don’t have to type it in when using your pin? It will auto add the passphrase to switch to the correct wallet?
@BTCSessions - noticed when using air gapp to create a Sparrow Wallet with ColdCard your exported the generic JSON however, now ColdCard has a Sparrow Wallet export...do you now export that instead of the generic JSON from ColdCard? Thanks
Is there any reason at all that it wouldn't start up after you've plugged into an adapter (lights are on both adapter and cable connection)? Is there something I'm missing here? Or have I received a dud?
Thanks for the video. I am trying to sign a transaction, and I see a “change back” address. The amount is drastically less than the difference between the amount I’m sending and the amount I should have left over. Can you explain what the change back address and amount means?
Thank you Ben, what wallet would you recommend for the phone. Would that work on a De-Googled Pixel phone? Regarding using the Coldcard with Sparrow are there any special provisions that need to be made for PC's that are running Linux Ubuntu 22.04?
When you first received BTC into the ColdCard wallet I did not see where you saved the PSBT to your SD card and then loaded the SD card into the Coldcard for signing? I have been trying to do this with my Sparrow Wallet (on a MacBook as well) and a ColdCard (MK4 with the latest Firmware) and I keep getting the error code: "Failure. My XFP not Involved". I Checked my Coldcard Master Fingerprint and my Sparrow wallet for the cold card and they have the same fingerprint...Any thoughts?
@1:14:05 what gets actually saved to the SD-card @ setting up BIP-85 derived secret? The plain-text 12-word seed unencrypted? And what is the use case of this saved file? Where do I have to store it (in comparison the backup of Coldcard is in an encrypted file...)
The password with wasabi is just to unlock the desktop software itself if I'm not mistaken. It has no bearing on the actual seed phrase of your Coldcard. It's basically a mechanism to prevent someone from auditing your balance if they get access to your computer.
@@BTCSessions thank you for the reply. I have gone through your tutorials and checked out everything cold card has put out and I didn’t know if it encrypted via the 25th word which would make it incompatible with 24 word seed wallets, which is my concern. I haven’t been able to find a solid answer

I have my mk4 coldcard with wasabi as my desktop wallet but I’ve been hearing disappointing news about wasabi regarding privacy. If I want to switch over to sparrow wallet, do I simply initiate an import to sparrow wallet as was done in the video? From there would I need to do anything else with wasabi in order to access my stack?
You're exactly right - simply import and you're set! Regarding Wasabi, I was also disappointed. However, it only pertains to the coinjoin function of the wallet - so if you opt to use it as a basic desktop wallet it will still function with the same basic privacy. That said - Sparrow is awesome.

Hey BTC Sess, my Mac won't open the dfu file in order to upgrade firmware. Any suggestions. it just opens a blank document and if I search for a file too open it nothing happens.
Really appreciate the helpful and informative content you put out. I am considering a Mk4 but have a new Keystone 3 Pro which I was planning to use for BTC alone to HODL only. When Keystone release their dedicated BTC firmware next year, will the Keystone be comparable to a Mk4 in terms of security? I will use a Tangem most likely for daily transactions of I do any. Many thanks 'eh :)
Great video thanks. Question,: I developed a habit to the LIVE mobile interface where I could view my bitcoin. Is there any mobile interface I can use with Sparrow to see my BTC on mobile? Thanks!
Anyone else receive a coldcard that says “Bag Me Now” at first power on? I assume it means it wasn’t setup properly prior to shipping and I’ll need a replacement. Hopefully product support is good.
Does anyone know what this part at 23:20 is? I am trying to setup XPUB for pocketbitcoin recurring purchases, and in their tutorial they say you should use account number 1 for pocket when exportting your wallet with generic json. I don't understand why that is? Are account numbers just other bitcoin public addresses or?
My understanding is that it's the "pathway" used to generate addresses. Your hardware can generate a massive number of bitcoin addresses, and you need to decide which ones your wallet starts from. Changing the account number from blank (technically account 0) will change your starting point. When pocketbitcoin says account 1, they likely mean just the default pathway.
I had previously purchased a Trezor Model T, via the referral link, after watching your video's a little over a year ago. However, I don't have a backup hardware wallet, so I was looking to purchase one. After watching your Top 6 Bitcoin Hardware wallets of 2022, I narrowed it down to the Coldcard or the Keystone. After watching both of your detailed usage videos on each of the two, I am leaning more toward purchasing the Coldcard Wallet (via your referral link). Then after copying the wallets created on the Trezor to the Coldcard, I plan to wipe the Trezor and have it as the backup as it is less secure than the Trezor due to the Coldcard being air-gapped. Thanks once again, Ben!!! One question: Would you recommend using the Micro SD over the Virtual Disk with the Coldcard?
Awesome Video Ben! Thank you! I received my Cold Card and walked my way through with your help. I appreciated the discount that I received by using your link when purchasing it. I chose to use unsigned transactions with the micro USB as it is the most secure being totally air-gapped. When Sparrow Wallet supports NFC I will switch to NFC.
If it breaks I put your wallet to a new one, if they go out of business then you can just get a new cold storage wallet if you want and transfer your btc to it

It would be great if you could do a ledger wallet to coldcard backup
Fantastic tutorial ben! Do you not recommend verifying coldcard firmware
Thanks!
Thanks for the video, very helpful
Can we use a windows computer to do this
What happens if I lose my MicroSD card or what if it breaks?
You better have you 24 words, pin and other two words written down.
Does this coldcard only work for BTC or can it be used with alt coins? Thanks
Have you tested mk4 NFC transactions?
¿Is there any way to verify that the manufacturer of this device actually delivers on what they promise and the cold card is actually safe?
I am using an old MacBook which might die soon. If my computer fries, how do I back up my cold card so I can use sparrow on my new computer?
Thank you this tutorial help me a lot ❤❤❤❤
export json file include public key only?
What happens if this device breaks? Company goes out of business? Are these worthy concerns?
If it breaks I put your wallet to a new one, if they go out of business then you can just get a new cold storage wallet if you want and transfer your btc to it
5 star explination! Can anyone send me where i can find read the terms of sale and use- full document? Thanks
Super helpful, thank you boss!!
