Freediving BLACKOUT Compilation no. 4 - Spearfishing

- A series of blackouts occurred during spearfishing.
Spearfishing represents a freediving situation which can be very risky, mainly because it's highly underestimated.
The last guy is one of the luckiest people on Earth.
Remember to dive safe and never dive alone.

If my memory serves me well, many years ago, Bill Zonomesis (owner of Bluetec) and his diving mate, while spearfishing in a remote area and during a dive, found another spearfisherman, a complete stranger to them, laying unconscious on the bottom at 60 ft of water. They brought him up to the surface with no vitals and they managed to resuscitate him after 20 minutes or so. He was then lifted to the hospital, where he made a complete recovery. No one knows how long that man stayed underwater before Bill found him. I`ve heard some pretty crazy guesses.
hahaha must be the luckiest diver ever
Valerio, if any of your videos saved even one life, then all of the work you have put into these videos was WELL WORTH IT!!!!~ I truly believe that you have saved great number of lives-some of which you will probably never find out about them. [ i.e. Someone is getting ready to go do some free diving, when suddenly they remember something that someone said somewhere. And while he can’t remember who said it, the message itself is clearly in his mind. So, even though he had planned just a short dive, he decided to call one of his diving buddies to see if they would like to come with him. SO, while you may never really know just how many lives you have saved, or how many times you have potentially saved the lives of others, please know that you have, AND will always continue to save lives through your videos. And, for that, my friend, I thank you so very much!! May you always stay safe!! 😊
This music makes me laugh.. you’ve got a serious video on with some absolute wobblers on in the background😂😂
I like it
most of them seem to recover almost immediately. that's very inspiring. Now I can try dieing harder when I go spearfishing !
🤣🤣🤣
Like all your Blackout Compilations,, very very informative and educative
Videos like this should be shown in all freediving courses.
Also extra atention on recovery breathing.
Thanks for sharing this important videos valerio
Thank you very much for your comment. I agree that any freediver needs to be aware of blackouts and learn all the necessary maneouvres in order to avoid them.
@@thefreedriver89 how do you avoid one?
Currently showing my students now haha
Man..... thats why you need to learn how to rescue BO before freediving. And that is why I take my freediving lessons first.
Spearfisher: underwater
The human body: I sleep
Nice of those guys on the boat to lean a helping hand , that's some real friends right there.
IKR! 🙄🙄
Every time you push yourself on a deep dive, unbuckle your weight belt and hold the lose end. If you black out your weights fall off and you become buoyant. This will greatly increase your chances of rescue and survival. I have a clip on my belt for attaching to my float line so I can recover my belt if I jettison it. It’s like having an ejection seat.
Last guy is so lucky if he didn't get any brain damage although it takes like 5-6 mins for that to kick in so he came close
The first guy didn’t know how to handle a blackout, i mean just take a coarse I’m a self taught free diver but i know how to handle a black out o
I wanna see another spearfishing compalation
Hi Valerio, great video.. can I use this content to edit a voiceover explaining more on the flaws of these dives ? of course I will tag you on Instagram.
Few of them know how to fin.. Give them a bicycle
There's a difference between free diving kicks (hip kicks) and spearfishing kicks, when you use more hip it creates motion in the water scaring the fish away.
If you're trying to surface you should be using hip kicks. Most efficient, least oxygen
The first one had no clue at all, how to handle a blackout. At least the gun looked good 🤦🏽♂️
Safety - idiot....... Courses first.. later freedive
Zilberto Do Pjento I totally agree. I decided to watch it again because I had no Idea what it was about. I was shocked again how totally incapable his buddy was in the situation. All these morons are the reason why Freediving still is considered a dangerous extreme sport!
That‘s true ...
@@13Hard his buddy safe his life in fact . The thing that bothered me most was how he sung after he surfaced correct me if im wrong but this means he was waaaaay too heavy
@@13Hard now i realise that his buddy did not take his mask off OMG ...
Grandes foram os livramentos
really nice video, we learn many things
Good comment lots of knowledge.
any clue about that last guy? Did he survive? Nice instructive video man, thanks
Yes...he was extremely lucky
SOMEONE PLEASE!!!!!....REMIND THESE GUYS THEY ARE HUMANS AND NOT FISH.....
Thats how i lost my son at Cat Key Bahamas. :'(
OH!!!.... SO SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS....
SOMETIMES HUMANS FORGET THEY ARE HUMANS, IN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING...
Never freedive alone...
That is the best comment in all of these free diving videos! 👍🏼
👌
Never ever dive alone
Most important message here!! 🤿🏹
im amazed at how many of these guys grab the speargun before helping their buddy
it seems a lot of spearfishers have no clue about proper safety and rescue procedures, holy shit
Why the people collapse after coming to the top of the see ?
Nope, couldn’t hear anything with all the music
Good video...
Musica inascoltabile!!
It seems a bad combination a spear gun and unconscious people
I am also seeing a pattern with all this water in the videos, but that might be speculation.
GoPro never die do!
The last one :
WHAT
THE
FUCK
Indeed one of the luckiest man on Earth!
And he had to much weight, because so close to the surface and still doesn't float.
The rule for wheight is that you should be able to blow all your air out and still have your eyes above the surface so youre conpletely right. When im diving alone i even put too little wheight so i float just in case anything goes horribly wrong
Many of them are also overweighted...
🇧🇷Alguém por favor me responda, ele sobreviveu??????😲😲😩⚰️????👈
A lot of spearfishing freedivers are irresponsible, hence this video. They are the least trained and the most gung ho, and usually take absolutely no safety precautions.
Porca troia che ansia che mi ha messo sto video. Io pesco sempre solo
maybe its just me...
WTF is going on at 7:53!! That guy laid unconscious at the floor for more than 4 minutes, and only then brought back up!
블랙아웃 버디가없으면 꼼짝없이 ㅜㅜ
Nr 1 what a big mistake why let the boat without driver
At 6:00 - that dude knew the diver was out when he was at the bottom. What was the sign?
Many options , could weird unusual movements, blue lips, panic or absence in the eyes, if you know the diver, you know when something is wrong
@@emilemold746 Hey guys , i remember the original video. That guy dived deeper then usual and his friends where already aware of that. That's why that guy went down to meet him in the middle.
@@pedrocaceiro3936 that's a long shot, thank you for your reply
Живой?Все нормально?
Good videos but the music is just so bad
I know... haven't really paid attention to it... new compilations have better music
Yeah 👍
@@thefreedriver89 how about just no music, it really ruins in the videos
第一个潜伴为什么不给摘面镜!😢
Toma cuidado com a arma próxima ao corpo irmão
The last guy probably died anyway..
probably not
I never think this could happen to a diver. I'm a spearfisher too but not an expert one. I've never experienced tragedy like this. I hope this won't happen to me since I always go diving alone.
So change that bad habit of yours my friend..
Me too ,,i often spearfishing alone ,i dont think black blackout could happen even in swallow water spearfishing
randy sumaylo that’s exactly where they happen most bos happen in shallow water do not dive alone ,
If you all dont like the music, just mute it and stop complaining about it. Duh!!
It's not about the music, it's that we can't hear the audio on the clips. The contractions, the breaths for air. Did you hear that guy who said he tried to breathe through his nose in the middle of the video? I didn't.
Ақтаудан кім бар
Fair play to these people sharing these videos..
but the lad filming himself at about 5 metres, pointing the gun at himself to get in shot (literally)........ then blacks out. Stupidity on another level.
A lot of them seem to have negative buoyancy at the surface. Looks like they are overweighted.
Yes I agree. Many freedivers who go spearfishing tend to put to much weight on themselves in order to be neutral at 8-10 meters
valerio.l105 thanks so much for putting up these videos. And you answer all the comments, giving out valuable info.
Let‘s hope these videos spread awareness and people put more attention to safe diving.
Eh eh diciamo che non ho ancora abbastanza materiale 🙈🙈🙈
11:50 was he death?
They say he survived... 💪
Hi! I m safety too. My idea to do video like this)))) good work! But a lot of safety in video are not professional...and spearfishers are really idiots!!!!
Can’t you re-upload these videos without the music? I’ve watched two of your videos but can’t be bothered with a third. You’d be surprised how many views you lost due to the loud music. People want to hear the real audio no matter what language it’s in. Nobody wants to listen to dance music as they watch people potentially drown.
What stupid music is that.. ??
another stupid background music
