You are a life saver ❤ been struggling to come up with a simple scheme for my 80 clan rats and can't wait to jump in and give this a try, though I'm going blue cloth myself.
Nice tutorial. I’d like to a see the speed painting approach be applied to Genestealer Cults. I’m looking for a paint scheme where I can use a primer color to provide most of the paint, but one that I can add other colors on top of easily for their purple skin and tattered miner uniforms.
Granberg The scheme I use is Black primer Dry brush grey all over (highlights ridges on miner armor) Paint skin Paint metallics Use any dark color for fabric (I use red) Correct any spots with black (pipes, guns body, goggles, etc) Slather in Agra’s earthshade
love this cause it a legit speed paint, to many speed painting videos go all out and practically paint the minis as normal and i might do this for my rats
Damn, that's a better speed paint method that what I was using: prime light brown, apply bright base coats, wash dark brown, drybrush highlights. I'll definitely use your technique for new, unprimed rats!
This is so good for how simple it is, thank you! Any paint recommendations for if you wanted the odd Skaven to be albino white or a lighter brown or black instead of that brown colour? 🙂
I'm the same, I've always been more into painting than gaming but speed painting is a nice challenge. Trying to come up with ways to bypass certain steps or achieve different effects more quickly then regular painting is very rewarding.
@@PeteTheWargamer You make it look like a very enjoyable goal to reach, I can really appreciate the skill in the minimalism. It looks like a completely different kind of fun to be had.
I think if you'd have to do the deathrunner again you would do it completely differently. Those are more dark and more realistic in the end. Your style is awesome, more fun thatn 2 years ago :)
@Pete The Wargamer, This method is fantastic yes-yes. Thank you! Just finished a test model and I can’t wait to see the whole unit painted. Do you have any suggestions for clothing colors for Skavenslaves for my Warhammer Fantasy Army?
Awesome tutorial could you do a darkwalkers ungor or gor tutorial please? Another horde army with fur and other bits but the blue grey kind of tone they have in the battletome looks like it's a big job to paint a lot of them.
Love the content you put out. Hope you might show us how to paint some of the new Gloomspite Gitz army. There is no videos on the gobbapalooza and a few others.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for putting this video together. I just did 10 Clanrats in 3 hours. I added a couple highlight steps, but otherwise- you saved me a lot of effort. I was going to start with a brown spray and wash, but this is actually better. Only 110 Clanrats to go. =p I'm so used to using washes, not using them feels.. so strange. Any good suggestions on Warpstone?
@@PeteTheWargamer yeah one may thinks so. I tried. Works on full plate armour. But if you add some heraldic clothes to equation or cape... Looks like crap...
Used it on my rats and works perfectly fine. If you want to push the contrast more I would suggest using cadian fleshtone, as ratskin flesh has a darker tone to it.
Thank you very much. That was great. I wonder if you could have a look at painting the terrain the came in the Kill Team Rogue Trader box. It would be similar to the terrain that came in the new Kill Team Arena box.
If you enjoyed this speed painting tutorial let me know and leave your suggestions of what else you would like to see me tackle.
Yep please, more speed painting videos!
Maybe a Blood Bowl Team speed painting? Could be any team
Speed paint some Landsknechts
Please a video of speedpainting Goblins and other greenskins ,this would be great
I would really love to see a bloodreaver speed painting video, they are such detailed models and I have 60 of them to paint
This is exactly what I needed to convince me that I could get a Skaven army AND paint it. Thank you very much I'm loving how they are turning out.
Would love to see some old school fantasy dwarves.
Awesome tutorial! Would love to see some tutorials on some Morannon Orcs for Middle Earth!
More Middle-Earth!

Paint skin
Paint metallics

Brilliant tutorial would love to see this for other hoard armies
This paint job looks amazing, and for such low effort, I can't wait to try it myself. Need to see if I can do something similar to my plague monks...
love this cause it a legit speed paint, to many speed painting videos go all out and practically paint the minis as normal and i might do this for my rats
Those rats look absolutely badass! Good job
Just about to start a Old World project and will be using this for my Clanrats, just changing out the red for a sickly green,
Very helpful video. Clear followable guidelines.
This is exactly the video I needed! I love Skaven but assembling and painting a horde army seemed tough
I would really enjoy a video on painting Dispossessed units, specifically the dwarf warriors, iron breakers, or the long beards!
More speed painting videos please!
I’d love to see a video on how to speed paint white figures (high elves, etc...)
Spray white = Done 😉
In seriousness, white's tricky but not impossible. You just need to rely on washes more than the dry brushing I used here.
I love your speed painting tutorials. I'm very impatient and to be able to produce decent results in a short time is a positive delight for me. :)
Great video. Simple, but effective strategy to get finished models on the table.
Thanks! Your KoW Abyssal tutorials are great!
@@PeteTheWargamer Thanks. I'm almost done with that project. Now I have to decide what I'm going to do next.
I would love to see speed painting of Nighthaunt. Chainrasp hoard, Glaivewraith Stalkers, Grimgast reapers, etc.
Great work again, by the way!!

These are great bud. Really enjoyed this...will be trying the technique myself!
Seeing some Empire Archers get some treatment would be real nice!
good stuff. you should make a series out of it do a whole bunch of horde armies.
Awesome tutorial. Really hoping to see more :)
More to come!
This is great! Can we get some spead painting vids of 40k orks or chaos daemons?
Looks awesome mate. May I ask how you achieved the base?
MLTY i am interested ...
Very nice speedpainting. Your miniatures look really cool. I like this rusty and dirt look. 👍greetings from Germany
Guten Tag!
This is so good for how simple it is, thank you! Any paint recommendations for if you wanted the odd Skaven to be albino white or a lighter brown or black instead of that brown colour? 🙂
I LOVE your worck, can you paint Kharadron Overlords ?
WOW. It takes me days to do 1 figure, but I am pretty new and enjoy painting and building more than gaming I think. I am getting faster sorta.

Worked great, thanks mate
You've done a really nice tutorial, continue like this
If you could do a tutorial like that one for the lizardmen it would ne great
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing this.
Love it! Just started a Skaven army and this will defenitely help! Will you do a tutorial on Stormfiends in the future?
@Pete The Wargamer,
This method is fantastic yes-yes. Thank you! Just finished a test model and I can’t wait to see the whole unit painted.
Do you have any suggestions for clothing colors for Skavenslaves for my Warhammer Fantasy Army?
I would keep things nice and dull, browns and greys ideally. Maybe Mechanicus Standard Grey and Steel Legion Drab
@@PeteTheWargamer thank you! Looking forward to painting them up.

A beastmen tutorial is a good idea, lots of nice surfaces that would do well from a drybrushing.
You saved my life 🙏
Love this video!
awesome! please do beastmen

Hmm, you'd want to start with black, heavy drybrush of Caliban Green and then hit it with some moot green for a really bright edge drybrush.
with a few colour/tone changes this is almost "speed Blanche". I'm going to have to go back through it in slow motion!
Looks good thnx!
Pro tip, if you listen to black metal while you paint you can paint 2 squads in half a day. Tsjuders new album is tits!
How about Mordor Orcs or Uruk Hai in a speed paint format?
Speed painting tutorial of medieval figures would be nice.
Spray silver, wash with nuln oil. Job done :P
@@PeteTheWargamer yeah one may thinks so. I tried. Works on full plate armour. But if you add some heraldic clothes to equation or cape... Looks like crap...
Holy shit you made that look easy
Hopefully, I made it more than just look easy :D
More please
Can you do orc boys from age of sigmar?
Would ratskin citadel paint be an OK substitute for cadian flesh?
Used it on my rats and works perfectly fine. If you want to push the contrast more I would suggest using cadian fleshtone, as ratskin flesh has a darker tone to it.
Yep which is exactly why I opted for Cadian. I wanted the last few layers to really stand out against the blacks and browns.
Can you do one for seraphon units ?
They'd be a good choice, especially with all those hard edges on their scales.
CADIAN SHOCK TROOPS KIND SIRRR
THANKS FOR COMMENTING! Check out the poll on my community tab :D
Cadian shock troopers would be a great tutorial..... (the real heroes of 40k)
Check out the poll on my community tab!
Plague monks...simply because so much of the model is covered in robes instead of fur
Thank you very much. That was great. I wonder if you could have a look at painting the terrain the came in the Kill Team Rogue Trader box. It would be similar to the terrain that came in the new Kill Team Arena box.
