In this video, I show you how to fix my Kobalt Miter saw that won’t shut off. It’s a very dangerous situation. Sometimes it will just keep running and never stop until you unplug it.
Seems like it might have almost caught fire.

I appreciate this greatly. My saw is this exact one and is just out of warranty (of course). My problem is the switch is intermittent. Your link to the switch doesn't seem to be the right one anymore but if one Googles MSB-1215B (2:46) multiple options come up. Thanks again for this.

In case anyone cares, Grainger has a switch item # 5JEC0 for $2.74 that's a perfect fit.

@@Duetmaster2 Thanks for posting this. Definitely looks like the original amazon link he had is no longer the same. Just purchased this from Grainger and will hopefully fix this issue on mine.

I just bought a new one and before I throw away the old one, I will remove that switch part, just in case it fails. Thanks for the information here. The old saw had rusted slides and broken guard and bag was ripped, it was toast.

Mine did the same thing and melted pretty good. I had the thing probably 6 months. Apparently its a common problem, you would think Kobalt would do something about it. I tried to get ahold of them and its almost impossibile. Wont buy Kobalt stuff ever again their customer service is garbage.

Mine keeps stopping!! It works great for about 6 cuts, then quits and won't come back on. A few days later I tried again, same thing. I've had the saw 5 years, but never used. Now I'm trying to use it, but it doesn't stay on

The problem I have with my Kobalt is that when I change blades the motor will shut off but the blade will keep spinning. As soon as I put the Kobalt blade back on it works fine. Anyone else have this problem or can help me figure out the issue?

Weird. I’m using a dewalt blade, and the brake works fine.
