Oooo that’s an interesting take. I guess at the end of the day these are my opinions and everyone has different preferences so take it with a grain of salt! Do you have any places you would recommend instead?

@@Charissa_leee In general, I have often found Toronto restos gimmicky, and while there’s lots of diversity, most are just okay. Montreal is the food mecca of Canada, and I say that as born and raised Torontonian. Of course, there’s exceptional cases, and with some up and comers, that might be changing. For now, I highly recommend the omakase from DaiLo with wine pairing. Alder for a new take on mediterranean. Bar Isabel for Spanish tapas - octopus shouldn’t be chewy, and they do it amazing here. Maison Selby for French fare. Enoteca Sociale or Famiglia Baldassarre for Italian. For old school steakhouse, Harbour 60, get the ribeye. Taste is definitely subjective (I love cilantro lol), but I do believe there’s some objective measures in quality that take serious technical skill, which only becomes more obvious once you’ve tried the same dish from 100 places. The more places you go to, the more your reference point changes too. Happy eating! :)

@@charliep9066 Thank you for the recommendations! I looked into the restaurants you have recommended and have saved some of them. Hopefully in the near future when I am working again I'll be able to try some of these places :) A lot of these places in the video are focused on the more affordable end because these were places I visited as a broke university student (hence why they aren't as fancy but more every day ordinary places near me). I definitely still have a long way to go in my foodie journey so I really appreciate your input 😊

@@Charissa_leee I feel you and been there. In more affordable range, I recommend:
      - Toroniku kara miso ramen from Hokkaido Santouka
      - Spicy white sesame shio ramen from Ramen Isshin
      - Curry brisket pho from Pho Metro
      - Plaza Latina (lengue) and Itacate for authentic tacos
      - Atomic 10 for birria tacos
      - Pai for their moo ping, papaya salad, and sticky rice (some of their other dishes were very good, but it fell off)
      Cheers :)
