Long winded…I didn’t want it to end! That picture of your mom and all of her siblings is wonderful. I never realized how much she looked like Ellie and Calvin. Then I saw the picture of you as a child and you are identical to them as well. I could tell as you were talking, you were sort of treading, lightly and trying so hard to be open, but also choose your words carefully. You are navigating your new normal with such grace. ❤ It’s not often I would volunteer to come and do laundry with someone, but I think I would make an exception for you. Haha
You are right. It was very difficult. As much as I loved finding all the pictures I sobbed, and sobbed hard. Very bittersweet.

I have been looking for a washing machine that has the spin thing in the middle as they clean so much better then these new washers so thank you I just ordered one like your. I had one for 30+ years and it went out to the point of no repair. I can not wait for the new one to come.

You know, Bonnie, I’m going to share a few of my thoughts: you said a month ago or longer now, that it all didn’t matter, the house, in the light of all that happened, but you know, it does. Especially when you include such personal touches, create a line between the materiality of your daily life with that of your gran. As I’m sure you’ve come to realise, also, the small things that make us happy matter the more in times like these. They’re extra bright in the darkness. ⭐️ And our environment, where we are and how we feel, matters enormously. As a survivor myself, my home is my sanctuary and having not had a safe home as a kid, I treasure it the more now. So I’m so glad you are making your home into a sanctuary, to see you treasure the little things like the ugly duckling, and the big things (family, feeling good, etc.) ❤
The door, the sink, the hardware, and the colour gives a vintage look to a new construction. Absolutely gorgeous. The toilet is a must in the laundry room.
