How can I practice hand separation? I think it will greatly improve my ability to play and give me range on the pieces I can play. Thanks in advance :)
Jaime Sanchez is a sustain pedal necessary? I’m still learning this song and I’m currently on the 1:32 mark but so far, no complications. Can you tell me the part where a sustain pedal is needed. Mine’s been broken for years.
@@Shanaoh I also do not have one. I am using a digital piano and have found out that there's a button that says sustain (basically just does the job the sustain pedal does). The part where it is needed I think is instead of press holding a key (note) long, the sustain pedal/button allows the note to continue on playing even though you've released of pressing its key. If that makes sense.
Jaime Sanchez Thanks mate! Come to think of it, I never questioned why my pinkie hurts so much. I thought that was normal for piano. This piece uses the pinkie a lot, especially when you use it to hold down a key for 4 beats. It’s painful, but still possible. I’m just on a tight budget right now and I can’t fix my piano.

yesididitverywell yeah, I learned it all in 3 days I think and it was pretty simple, both parts are easy and putting it together was too, maybe it's for those who haven't played piano for long are having trouble? Or maybe they are over looking it and it's easy once they tried it

I think most people know this Song and in some way I did too, but I never *knew* this song before I heard it in a music box version within an anime called La Corda D'oro. This Song together with that whole show made me realise how beautiful classical music actually is and I actually set out to learn the piano. My goal was to learn Canon in D (a different version) on the piano, so I started with easier songs, practised from 20min å day to 3 hours a day for 3 months.I learned Songs like The wheels on the bus to River flows in you and then finally turned to this song, which will always be one of my favourite classical pieces ever. My point being it took me less than 3 months to come to the point where I could play this song nearly perfect, so to who ever feel that beautiful exitement when they listen to any Song and want to be able to share that experience through music, know that the road there isn't as long as you think and it will be extremely fun along the way.

Hey, guys! This is my piano progress on this song as a complete beginner. Tlhis is the first classical song I'd be learning... I'll update everyday until I master it! Day 1: 0:37
Seriously, I’ve been playing on my Yamaha psr E453 for like 2 months, and I practiced this song for 5 days, now I can play it perfectly. You need to control the bass first and them combine the two. No joking I don’t play a lot, but I don’t understand all the comments about how hard it is! And I don’t even have a sustain pedal yet, and that with only 61 keys ;)
I recommend learning through sheet music because you can jump around easily. Since with a video you can only see a certain part and it's a bit annoying if it's a big section your learning that doesn't completely fit on the screen. I'll watch the video just to get an idea or rhythm of the song. Learning to read sheet music could be a hassle but it's a must if you really want to "get good".
people, sure, it's hard at first; but it's worth it in the end. i learned this piece for about a month - and it is difficult, yes - but boy, was it one of the proudest pieces i could ever present as a beginner. _effort will always lead to something._
Guys, Don't think it's too hard! It looks so hard right now, I know. But just print the sheets and try it out! I did the same thing and I can play it now. I played it at school and people really liked it. Please give it a try! The song is so beautiful and amazing to play! You can do it!

I cannot believe I am almost finishing playing this. Practice piece by piece. I think I’ll cry and I will be tired of this song when I am done with it 😂
Lucas Balestra this is a bit old, but the max distance is one octave. People bounce back and forth pressing the same notes on two consecutive octaves often, so No, the furthest notes are fairly easy to hit.
So I did this in about 12 total hours over four days (fairly close to performance quality at this point), I'll say it's not "hard" because almost always the left and right line up very well (either an eighth for an eighth or an eighth for 2 sixteenths 80% of the time), also there's very little creativity that's needed to find good finger placements e.g. at 1:54 you just need to move right hand left one note once or twice a measure to play all those in treble clef). If you can't put hands together then you need to practice the individual hands until you can do each perfectly then put hands together very slowly and work up from there, its not "hard" just time consuming, the sixteenth note parts take a little dexterity but its really just a matter of slow practice with proper rhythm. Plus the left hand does basically the same thing the whole song, much less to worry about than most remotely challenging songs. Edit: Also be absolutely sure to not play the whole song all together full speed unless its a performance, usually play a few measures +1 or less (+1 meaning also play the first note of the next measure so that you remember what comes next) TLDR: 'can't play too hard' ---> slow practice individual hands then slow both hands, always be conscious of rhythm.
Just use the sustain pedals if that doesn’t work for you start with your pinky and then use your middle finger for the next note (middle note) and use your pointer finger for the last name of the arpeggio, keep your middle finger on the note you played (finger hovering over the key but not pressing it) so after you play the third note of the little arpeggio you can just straight up press the middle note of the arpeggio
Sounds amazing on Yamaha Portable Grand. It is much easier to control the sustain effect on this one. I tried both and have played many different versions of this song over the past 48 years, some were a challenge and some frustrated me a bit, they all got more detailed as I got older but always loved how the more advanced versions were more and more beautiful as I went. After piano lessons from 1965 (I was 4) until 1980 when I was 19, with 5 lessons a week at school and three private lessons a week after school, I learned to capture the best and most flawless non choppy methods. I actually blend some of the best sounds from a few different versions over the years. This one is particularly good
@@that1guy910 Might be the same for me as the OP, but whenever assemblies started I would hear this song while everyone walked in, it really takes me back

did u!!!?1!?!?!
Finally something that sounds nice and is pretty simple to do
This always makes me feel better
100% sustain?
Doesn't sound nice.
If you dont use the sustain, I think your left fingers wont reach the highest notes while press the lowest. (My opinion)

I mean that the whole video is sustained the whole time
Smikkelbeer and add in there's notes actually missing in parts
Lucas Balestra this is a bit old, but the max distance is one octave. People bounce back and forth pressing the same notes on two consecutive octaves often, so No, the furthest notes are fairly easy to hit.
Whooo I've done it all 😁😁

Wow nice 👍
Good4u
You did it?! Omg please reply so I could be motivated!

Spotted! OMG. I'm here because of that story. oh my.. I'm trying my best to play this. HAHAHAHA
Edit: Also be absolutely sure to not play the whole song all together full speed unless its a performance, usually play a few measures +1 or less (+1 meaning also play the first note of the next measure so that you remember what comes next)
TLDR: 'can't play too hard' ---> slow practice individual hands then slow both hands, always be conscious of rhythm.
This makes me feel grateful that I'm alive.
Q. Can you play this on keyboard?
A. Yes you can.
this. shall. be. played. when. (if) i. walk. down. the. ISLE

@@emideegibbins3189 thx
@@emideegibbins3189 but its okay if he wanna make it related to the title. You know "Canon"
1:05 I don think my left hand has eight fingers
Pedal
Just use the sustain pedals if that doesn’t work for you start with your pinky and then use your middle finger for the next note (middle note) and use your pointer finger for the last name of the arpeggio, keep your middle finger on the note you played (finger hovering over the key but not pressing it) so after you play the third note of the little arpeggio you can just straight up press the middle note of the arpeggio
Keep checking tho
dude the left hand isn't that hard its like
an octave stretch
You only need 3
0:05 to 0:27
Of course I can play
0:28 to 3:07
Of course I can’t play
Don't give up! I'm beginner too and I can play this piece:3 You just need lot of practice!!
This one is particularly good
I’m learning Waltz by Chopin and I searched his songs up. This is by far the most melancholy and beautiful I’ve heard.
Remind me when i was primary school

Like for canon flows in d. Canon in d river flows in you
It's really easy but combining both hands is the hard part.
My only question:
Do you know how to play this, edit?
beginners out there, its really not as hard as it might look!! the left hand pretty much plays the same pattern throughout, and the right hand is just a simple melody! there wre a couple tricky spots but u can do it :) i played this for a recital a year into my piano studies and im no prodigy so it’s definitely doable. and good luck!
I love this version!
It is extremely easy in piano tiles
