Thanks for posting this video. I have been installing timing belts since they first came out. But this belt defied me, so I fast forwarded to the install. And there it was, the secret, leave the tensioner off. I've never had to leave a tensioner off before. I even googled the belt number, I bought all Toyota parts in a kit and wondered if I had the wrong belt. After removing the tensioner I too was fast and furious. I have an auto electric diagnostic and repair shop also. And at age 69 it's becoming a little harder than it used to be, in fact my hands are kind of swollen this morning from a slip that cause me to bleed like a stuck pig, damn blood thinners. Which reminds me, I need to take my medicine this AM. I'm doing this for a friend and I didn't charge enough, but that happens now and again. I have pirated alldata and one disc didn't load right, and guess which one that was, the car I'm working on. And knowing alldata I kind of doubt it was revealed anyway. By the way, get a 1/4" electric ratchet, I have a Milwaukee and love the thing, it's surprisingly powerful and fast. It will cut down on your video times considerably. Thanks again, and have a good day. Aaron's Auto Electric, New Albany Indiana.
Dude. I ripped my rotator cuff in my shoulder last time i did one of these. I got the belt on but i really hurt myself. Watching this i feel kinda stupid. That damn tensioner. This next one should be a bit easier thanks to this video. My favorite part is those safety slippas when he's compressing the tensioner.
Well done, thank you. We had a rattle coming from our Lexus and it has been narrowed down to the timing belt tensioner. Looks pretty easy to get to now!

Super helpful video, doing this for a friend next week. Thanks so much
And the most difficult part of the entire job? That damned alternator tension bolt. On the RX300/330 anyway
Hi.
No it is not thank your question.
How about the RX300
It's pretty much identical. The tensioner is slightly different in shape but the rest is the same. Same process applies
