I like how everyone calls her a baby despite her being 9 years old, she's probably just short. Red and Blue set off on their journey on their 10th birthday too, Poppy also said she's gonna enroll in the school soon.
I’ve always found the juxtaposition of Poppy looking like a toddler but being one of the strongest trainers in the region endearingly hilarious, even before we found out she’s close to protagonist age. Meanwhile I have a friend that can’t stand her for that reason😂
Comparing her Masters model to Mina's (who is canonically 5'6), Poppy is... 2'11. That's certified growth disorder height for a 9-year-old. Even Tate and Liza are around 4'8.
I can't help but picture Poppy catching her pokemon... Like... Have you ever seen a 6 year old tame a giant steel elephant ? A prehistoric shield dino ? Etc... Like i can't help but picture it and it sounds so ridiculous and funny
0:23 I believe this is the same techno beat they use in Iris' theme. Fitting as they're both children in high positions at the end of the day, yet shouldn't be underestimated simply because of their age
This theme perfectly matches the fact that she's an elite 4 member, and a Steel type expert so do not be underestimated, but also the fact that she's still a child, and that her signature pokémon is Tinkaton, which is Fairy/Steel type. Not bad🩶💖
Giving E4 members their own variations of the same theme should be in mainline games, so it goes: gym leader--> one theme Elite four --> unique variation Champion --> fully unique theme
They might arrive sooner. Summer? Since Galar doesn't really have E4, Pokemas needs the Paldean E4 soon enough. After that, Blueberry. Sometime before Gen X releases.
They released them in their order (rika and poppy first who were the 1st and 2nd members followed bh larry the 3rd and hassel will be the last one being the 4th member)
I mean I know that child prodigies exist but honestly I thought kids under the age of 10 weren't allowed to be pokemon trainers let alone E4 members. It just feels really weird imo.
@@Gnarfledarf And you're only saying that because gen 9 introduced a child trainer but otherwise every game until now would've basically said the same thing.
@@sinnohperson8813 Honestly I just don't like kids or prodigies in general, they creep me out. It's nice that they're shaking up the formual a bit, though. Seems like the one game where the writers and designers tried to do that a lot more than usual (besides Arceus).
anyone else remember when SV came out and only the first like 2 seconds of this song would play for the entire E4? Yeah this is way better than that lol
Poppy is almost definitely like 5-6 at the oldest, so the fact that she’s on the Paldea E4 with a team of powerhouses implies that she’s less a child prodigy and more something bordering on eldritch horror, which is amusing given some of the ideas I’ve seen floating around about Larry.
I just wish the robot-type noise in the background from 0:11 to 0:22 was part of the loop, like if it was also in 0:59 to 1:05. Poppy's is probably my favorite, but after listening to each of them I'm not super impressed with the Paldea E4 themes so far. Hopefully Hassel's blows me away like Lance's and Drake's did
I don’t mind it too much, but I understand where you’re coming from. I feel the same way about when they do that thing where they just start slamming on the drum over and over, like in Marshal’s theme around the loop point (I think at the 0:50 mark). It just completely ruins the momentum his theme had up to that point.
@@CaptainObliviousV It fits for Marshal though, he has drums and guitars anyway. Siebold is who it doesn’t work for. His theme is calm piano, then you get interrupted by that nonsense.

Red & Blue started at 11 years old, not 10 unlike Ash & Gary

Wait, she's 9? I thought she's literally a toddler prodigy. Didn't know she may have a height deficiency. Is she younger than Acerola?
When poppy grew up she is probably as tall as Hapu
A Kid With A Soundtrack That Hits As Hard as A Gigaton Hammer from Tinkaton
Yeah it had no reason to hit so hard 😂😂 these songs for the paldea e4 might be the best so far

What the actual fuck why does this theme go so unreasonably hard
Giving E4 members their own variations of the same theme should be in mainline games, so it goes:
gym leader--> one theme

I wonder if Larry’s theme is with gym leader and Medali theme, and Hassel’s theme with ace academy tournament theme.
You at least got the Medali motif for Larry right.
Didn’t expect to get Poppy as one of the first elite four members for Paldea. I’m expecting Hassel and Larry before the end of 2024

Poppy: TINKY! GIGATON HAMMER!

This is a top 5 Elite 4 remix. Sounds like a weird mix of Lisia’s and Colress’s themes. Don’t care for this character but I want these song key.
So you’re willing to scout for and EX a character you don’t like just for the song?

Funny you should say that when her name is Poppy.
(play xenoblade 2 if you don’t get the joke)

And since she's 9, she's also allowed to study at the Academy now.
