These are genuinely the best sketchbooks I've ever used. I supported their kickstarter and got four of them and I don't think I'd use anything else without yearning for the quality of these sketchbooks. Etchr really outdid themselves with these.

Yeeees, I'm so glad you did a review on these sketchbooks! I've tried out a couple of watercolour and mixed media sketchbooks, but I haven't found the holy grail yet. I've been eyeing these for such a long time!
Could the speckles be granulation? It could be that some of your paints have granulating pigments which is a totally normal thing in watercolor, it can look speckly because the pigments separate as they dry. Some papers show granulation a lot more than others. Just a thought!

I love the reviews and spreads you do, i like seeing the different kinds of sketchbooks there are that i would have never found on my own, and feeling inspired to try new supplies. I hope sometime i could try one of these if i can eventually afford it

As far as speckling goes, I didn't notice it on the back side of the page, did you? That would be disappointing for either side and a deal breaker. (Like why I waited on that other famous sketchbook.) Your bird doodle with the backpack is A D O R A B L E.
I like this type of hard-bound sketchbooks but couldn't find many from where i live. Tried moleskin and leuchtterm sketchbooks so far but neither was actually meant for watercolor.. Since this is 100 cotton I'd def try this.
Find hot leads, people looking for commissions. Having a social media following isn't the best way to get a consistent flow of work unless you're ridiculously popular. From what I've seen others do, putting yourself out there on platforms like Reddit, asking in communities that want art drawn for them is your best bet. Having a decent log of the art you're most proud of or that have gotten the most attention is a good way for people to know you're what they're looking for. Also, don't sell yourself short! Follow minimum wage and log your hours worked on the piece. Ask for either upfront payment or half and half. Be flexible and work with the client as much as you can, but make sure the effort is worth it. If you don't feel your work is worth upwards of a minimum of $20 then you should keep practicing and gain confidence, don't give up! Any more questions send my way, I'd love to see some of your art too.
Really love your 2nd doodle of the cat on the back side of the paper. The colors seem to have done better and didn't bleed as much as they did when you were doing the ducks. Thank you so much for sharing and keep up the amazing work ❤️!!
Have you tried using charcoal? Because most of the art youtubers don't use it at all If you haven't you can make a video where you use it (if you want to, it's just an idea)

Just a heads up they fixed the paper in the illo sketchbook so it doesn’t speckle anymore
