He realized guys aren’t defending middys. Look at CP3, Kawhi, Derozan, etc. a lot of their scoring comes from the midrange and these are strong dudes (minus CP3). Can bump most dudes out the way.

This can be the high percentage go to shot in the clutch for harden. I remember in the 2015 conference finals against the warriors in game 4 or 5, he just made a bunch of these and scored 40+. Just needs to break his habit of looking for fouls in the clutch instead of getting a bucket. He has got a whole season ahead of him to build great habits. Don't need to score 30+ points every game, just being good when he's needed.

Dont get me wrong, Harden is very good, but Embiid Maxey and Harris dont need Harden to feed them. They are able to score themselves without Harden. None of them is a spotup shooter. Harden dancing with the ball for 15-20 seconds dont make the team any better.

When they run the play and then the opponents catch up, they went back to the first or second option.
That's the point of isolation, if you can't get it through a set play, you can go back to one backup guy.
