@@DIEGhostfish That's true. Provided he had a wife and daughters, he is the equivalent of a duke/prime minister. Always keep a spare in your boot. ALWAYS. Also, wow. I keep on forgetting just how awesome this fight was, especially seeing how Schenkopp thoroughly schooled everyone else who ever stood against him.
Not at all. I know what you're getting at though. In this Universe Wars consist mainly of fleet battles, and hand-to-hand(infantry) combat is mostly limited to within corridors of a battleship, so melee and armors are not that far-fetched given the circumstances.
Especially because of the combustible seffle particles, which negate ranged fire because then everyone dies. This universe was limited by the technology of the time the series was made, but they sidestepped a lot of the criticism with genuinely interesting premises. Such as everything being pen and paper and analogue because technology was so advanced that nothing digital was secure enough.
@@skyeshi3570 at least the second one aimed at the idiot with the open visor, but the first one was too dumb to shoot the guy in full armor close instead of the guy without a helmet who was right in front of him

back then when I first saw this ep I said to my self " what the hell can't you wait at least 'till Reuenthal wear his shield? or whatever they call it :P
VCMENTERTAINMENTS gunfights stopped happening since the armour blocks lasers and they infantry used zephyr particle emitters which cause massive explosions if you shoot them, essentially sinking the ship
Laser guns are still used, as you saw in the scene, but zephyr particles kinda make them useless as anyone who shoots will risk blowing themselves up, kinda like letting off hydrogen gas
The Gaiden series mentions that only lasers set off zephyr particles, and that they don't activate even in hot engines. I guess all knowledge of kinetic firearms were lost when that nuclear war happened on earth.
Heroes and good warriors are really just good killers. More than two weapons is just common sense and just two is for the daring. However, one weapon? that one is a fool.
OMG, the original version was soooo much better than the "remastered"(butchered, lol) version. The scenes there don't just look bland, but also really dumb in action dumb kind of way, this is the good stuff! Hopefully someone with enough passion fixes the remaster by taking those horrible redrawn scenes for these ones. Hopefully the newer series does justice to this one(altough, i have a bad feeling that it won't because of the goofy designs of the newer armor)
@Sam Tyler I'm guessing it's the sequence starting from 1:00 We see Schenkopp lost his knife as he flung back, but immediately got another knife popping into his hand. The remaster version edited this mistake though. ua-cam.com/video/SOv0K03pMRg/v-deo.html

戦闘能力最強クラスのシェーンコップの攻撃をいなす、というかむしろ若干優勢に立つ”頭脳派”ロイエンタール…

i always laugh at the way reuenthal (and his officers) turns around, like a mistress caught in flagrante delicto by a furious wife.
One of the hypest ground battles in LoGH
The battle of the maginificent bastards :)
艦隊司令官が白兵戦できるというラインハルトの幕僚のレベルの高さよ

羽佐間さんシェーンコップ、若本さんロイエンタールの、ともにドスの効いた演技のスゴさよ。

Hmmm. We do see Reuental grab a knife from one of the fallen Rosenritters, so it's quite plausible Schenkopp did the same in that amount of time.
Schenkopp took it out first XD

I think he picked the knife from the corpse of the other Rosen Ritter, just like Reuentahl.
So, they have Ships with advanced energyweapons but infantrycombat works with axes and knives? Can somebody explain it to me?
VCMENTERTAINMENTS gunfights stopped happening since the armour blocks lasers and they infantry used zephyr particle emitters which cause massive explosions if you shoot them, essentially sinking the ship
Laser guns are still used, as you saw in the scene, but zephyr particles kinda make them useless as anyone who shoots will risk blowing themselves up, kinda like letting off hydrogen gas

They explained it in the show several times why melee combat is still important.

If they take place in the same universe, this is verrrry early in DoT.
